Vintage Story Desert Life Ep 29: Morage Storage

- Vintage Story Desert Life is a desert-themed survival playthough in version 1.19, with a large list of mods to speed up the process of building and chiseling. While our builds will all (or at least mostly) be in the desert, we are not restricted to hot and arid climates for the purposes of gathering materials and resources.
This series exists as a series of VODs, as well, but for people who prefer their videos in a more manageable length, the VODs will be cut into these shorter episodes and released throughout the week after each livestream, provided that there is enough desire for this format.

I know how you feel! I often watch / listen to streams while I'm doing the dishes or cooking! ;)
The temporal storm makes it looks like the desert has sand dunes. There are a few things I would like to inquire whether you had done it or not, but since I'm already down two streams on the episodes and my memory's been pretty much overwritten with silly faces and phrases made by zebebe, I'm not sure if I should ask or not.
Either way, it is a known fact in my country that rain always comes when you clean your vehicles. It always rains 5 metres from the car wash. I believe the traders in your oasis are regularly cleaning their carts. Hence, the rainy stream. :D

He did it! He did the airlock thing. i wonder if the main wall gate could have one too, with its bench window
Probably not; an airlock for the chickens makes sense, but for the whole compound is just more doors to open and close!
I’m surprised you didn’t take advantage of the Beehive Kiln with all that Kiln firing.
I also kind of would love a mod that you can stack chests on top of each other in the crafting grid to put them on shelves.
Darn it! I keep forgetting I have that mod installed! XD One of the downsides of having a huge modlist is that I forget so many of them! XD
So... i got the chance to look for the mod that gives me the Bulk Nails and Strips Mold... well i found it but unfortunately i cant find it on the mods database anymore... there MIGHT be another if the server it was for merged it with another mod for the server...
Im going to do a little research and see if maybe i can upload the mod back to the database myself because it was literally the only mod that had BULK Nail and Strip Molds... its so amazing.
Theres also a bunch if other stuff in the mod like cabinets and some other decorative/small storage blocks and a few other things i cant remember off hand.
If i can get it uploaded again ill let you know so you can check it out.
Hmm. There was a mod that was taken down due to some copyright issues. Maybe it was in that mod?
There has to be rain in Death Valley in spring. There were lots of flowers. In summer everything is dead. Maybe it rains during fall, too. Or you are down under. 😂
I live in the Mohave Desert of NW Arizona, we get up to 125+F/52C during the day and the nighttime temps don't go below 95F/35C. Summer is when all the plants die. You would literally have to put plants in shade/indirect sun with a water irrigation drip system to keep them alive if they weren't native to such hot desert conditions (like Joshua Trees, Ocotillo, and Saguaro Cactus). Most people start their crops in October. A few years it was 80F/27C at 9pm on Halloween. If it doesn't get below freezing, which it has a few times in the 20 years I've been here, the crops will grow quite well all the way through to April. May is when we start getting over 100F/38C. It's challenging, but possible to grow crops all year if you pick the right crops. I grew up in Central Coast California, and we could grow anything all year with only a few years during 30 years when it got down to freezing. Moving to Arizona was a bit of an eye-opener when it came to the weather.
It's been raining every week in this desert! And I still can't get grass to grow! XD

I am kinda curious about the rusted world. I looked it up, and there isn't really much information about it. the Gears make sense, as they are sort of a theme in the game, but... what is with that building on legs? Wish I could get a better view of it...
I'm not 100% sure myself! I was kind of hoping the "rust world" would be another dimension, like the Nether or The End in that other block game. Maybe that'll be the case eventually, but at least for now, it seems like it's a separate plane of existence that's coexistent with the normal world.
