Jeremy Hardy was a comedy treasure. We always enjoyed hearing him on the News Quiz, Carpool and more. We had been wondering why we had not heard him for some time, when we heard of his death at such a young age. He will not just be missed for his comedy but as a gentle socialist political commentator. Having met his parents who were both lovely people, I can understand why others have said what a lovely person Jeremy was. Rest in Peace, Jeremy and deepest sympathy to his family.
Jeremy Hardy was an amazingly insightful comedian and a pleasure to listen to. Love vicky Pepperdine's take on the State of the Union Presidential address.
Lea Gratch, excellent use of the word 'mensch'. (I had to look it up, so you've educated me too. How often do you get to say that about a UA-cam comment)?
@@Marvhead oh babes, I just checked the word now too, just in case LOL! good to know I'm in good company concerning Jeremy....like Victoria Wood, a real legend
hey shaun sry youre unable to make yr arguments civil … I didn't like some of his views either but others I did … even if I hated *all* his views that's not gonna get you more supporters … unless they also reject civility humanity n respect .. jus my opinion.
in fact I listened to a sthing on youtube abt hate …twas v funny! see that I said 'hated' some of JHardy's views .. well that was wrong I think sry… I mean I didn't agree with em … but nothings black n white .. not even a polar bear we have black skin underneath can ya believe? and I don't even hate you shaun .. and hope you don't hate me … cant see how hate solves anything … hope you can come to agree with that? if not now in a few years? never know ;)
Jeremy was exactly the guy to "hit back at reports that he was retiring because of his death" I shall miss his contributions to BBC4's "Friday Night Comedy" for every Saturday morning shower from now on Ní chloisimid a leithéid arís
Faith Puleston jesus i just came here from chunky mark ...... i remember him from the rory bremer show where he brandised a big hoom in a "scitt" as a sound man talking direct to the camera r.i.p.
When I moved to Sweden, he was the reason I missed Radio 4. I always loved getting him in one show or another in their podcast. I will miss him even more.
It is not just comedy and entertainment that will miss the wonderful talent of Jeremy Hardy but socialist politics and activism has lost an important and vital voice. RIP !!
A woman on holiday phones home to her husband. She asks, "How’s the cat?" He says, "The cat’s dead." She says, "Oh, you could have broken the news to me when I got home. I can’t enjoy my holiday now. You should’ve just told a white lie, like the cat’s on the roof and you can’t get her down." "Sorry," says the husband, "I’ll remember that." She says, "Anyway, how’s my mother?" He says, "She's on the roof and we can’t get her down."
Compare this brilliantly funny show with what passes as the News Quiz today. The current offering is all about Andy Zaltman who's humour I find very contrived and actually most of the time not at all funny. Bring back Miles Jupp and the news cuttings. The BBC have destroyed a national treasure.

So sad - a warm, funny and brave man. Thanks for all the laughs, Jeremy, and all good wishes to your family.
Good nasty unfunny piece of work

Agreed - and at a time when it's sorely needed :( Saw him in Edinburgh a couple of times down the years. Great memories.

I disagreed with his politics but he was nevertheless brilliantly funny on occasion.....a sad loss to Britain.
what part of his politics
@@hamzah5643 The "be nice to other people, help the disadvantaged, make the wealthy pay the bills" part.

Jeremy Hardy was fired by The Guardian for being too left-wing
