I realise now that I was never really a socialist, I was a national conservative and if this were the speech of our PM many young would support the vision. A quietly spoken but charismatic manifesto.
Glad Danny mentioned training up our own plumbers , technicians etc...as we do not have many technical colleges unlike Germany. Not many people mention it. We need a huge investment from Government and private partnership if possible. THe Tech colleges we do have are hard to get entry to.
How many people can say they have 4 generations in their family of married couples…….from great grandparents to great grandchildren …….no divorce …..married for life…….safe secure family structures, generation upon generation…….I can …….and I’ll tell you why …….because I was taught inter generational values , that marriage is for Life …..when it’s tough you don’t leave …..choose your spouse wisely with these values in place…..self sacrifice…..it’s not about You ….it’s about 7 generations on from you……….a belief in God would help ………if for the simple reason of focusing on a Higher Being and Truth outside of ourselves and that nothing in this world in terms of money or status really matter …..
But don't be too smug about it. Some people don't make the best choice perhaps they through no fault of their own had an alcoholic mother or were abused by the father figure in their lives or simply abandoned to institutional care.
Do you mean alternative tory party leaders or alternative ruling parties? Either way I struggle to see how alternatives are more problematic (Liz Truss aside in the case of alternative tory leaders). I agree that there are some studies which show that in general children do better with things like education when they are part of a 2 parent family. However, this is certainly not always the case. For instance, I grew up in a single parent family and have recently completed a PhD. Moreover, to suggest that parents should stay together whatever the circumstances is just plain wrong. Also, going back to my original point...I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy of supporting a man (who has had numerous adulterous affairs and fathered many illegitimate children) to lead the country whilst holding such strong views about family dynamics. You surely must be able to see the hypocrisy in this?
Have you ever had any responsibility for getting anything practical done in the world? You focus on the priority, you don't analyse every aspect of the individuals in your team and expel any who fail moral perfection.
I'm 38 lol and have plenty of real world experience in many different roles. What experience or academic ability do you have? And I would rather a leader who leads by example. This is simply another example of a Tory politician blaming the poor for their condition rather than admitting that they have made any mistakes. I am sure that Mr Kruger and his team are looking at these comments out of sheer vanity if nothing else and I challenge him and anyone else for that matter to a live debate about his idiotic beliefs and his party's mismanagement of this country. Another well connected Tory with no idea for how to genuinely tackle any of the very serious problems facing the working classes in this country!
@@LiamBurke-jg3nc Im older than you have a degree in law and a postgraduate degree. Academic ability has never been an issue for me but it is what it is and no more. It does not give wisdom. What I do think is that I am able to listen well. You clearly have not listened with anything other than a determination to cling to your narrow little ideology. I suggest you follow up on the ideas of 'luxury beliefs' and some of the statistics behind childhood poverty and parenting structure. The physical and sexual abuse of children and family structure and mental health and family structure. Also, check out this particular M.P.'s career - no doubt Wikipedia are busy changing their entry since he has now been marked as a threat to their worldview but it revealed a significant sense of engagement with the young and disadvantaged.
I've watched most of the speeches and alternative presentations given at this conference by Conservative members of the Government and MPs. Only Danny Kruger and Miriam Cates articulate a deeper understanding of the issues confronting our country, and the necessary steps to solve them. The other Tory MPs carried on as normal by trading in the tired cliches of an out of touch Westminster subculture.
Danny, we will not trust Rishi Sunak. Forget it if you think the Tories can win another election with Rishi as Prime Minister. Just forget it. Neveretheless,i like your three basic truths.
Using banknof England inflation calculator, your £6 in 1993 is now (March 2023 is latest date on website) £10.72. It is a little lower than your 1999 rate. I agree that carers get paid too little. We need better wages. That will come once we reduce low-skilled immigration.
What has paganism got to do with it? I am a pagan, i do not worship myself rather our noble ancestors, part of my worship is nature based and I'm probably more socially conservative than Kruger.
According to Gerrard Batten, Boris Johnson is not remotely the brave patriot you seem to think... No, quite the opposite, and I’m certainly inclined to agree with Batten.
The 2016 referendum (opinion poll only and not legally binding) spawned the greatest grooming & disinformation exercise in UK history and led to the greatest loss of rights in all history for UK citizens and businesses on their own continent.
Trust the People? Again? They trusted them before, won them over with an eighty seat maj..and where did it get them? Maybe it’s the People who ought to be the last trusted! They vote themselves into worse situations than before! Trust the People for the whining shower we have now complaining but with no convincing counters for the immediate future except spend spend spend either on wortheless long term projects, and encourage rather People to strike strike strike and not to work not to work or work only that time for post inflation incomes to compensate, and to bring in half the population and dependents from India!
Did any of you wonderful political philosophers, politicians etc condemn the terrible abuses of the Constitution, habeas corpus, due process, inflicted upon the protestors against the illegitimate Biden on Jan 6. Noor Bin Ladin made an appeal, on their behalf, to the UN (not because she believes in the UN, but she had the opportunity to give them a chance to do the right thing) why couldn’t U.K. politicians at least follow her example, let alone lead by example?
"2019 when the whole country voted to get Brexit done" - 43% of the 67% of the electorate who turned out, so, er, 28% of the people. This speech is full of those. he's as manipulative and dishonest as the rest of them. A shame as he was nice at school. One of the more laid back guys in that den of maniacs
Kruger shamelessly supports the most mendacious prime minister in the history of the UK - and before that he was Remainer PM Cameron's speech writer. His father was a wealthy property developer; mother an eminent member of the English establishment with a CBE, OBE and DBE. As far as i can tell, he was raised in London - which when I last checked, was still in the SE of the UK. The voters of Devizes see through this kind of malarkey and Kruger shouldn't look forward to the vote count at the next GE. An anti-elitist man of the people? Barf me out. 🤢

You are a very confused individual… seek help.
An excellent speech. Without renewing our social, cultural, and religious capital things can only get much worse.
Beautiful speech, thank you.
He should stand to be the next Conservative Party leader!
Incredible stuff, well done
It might take decades for the wokes to agree with you.

All those ideas are what makes me a conservative. I pray we get back there somehow.
Excellent speech.
Agreed
Wonderful speech.
Tories must trust the people....that would be the people who dont trust the Tories.
This would be a wildly impressive speech if the labour government were currently in power...

In what world are we in that intact families are a privilege... It ought not to be this way for you it wasn't like this at all.
And who are the people exactly?
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LEGAL CROOKS & ILEGAL CROOKS. MONEY
The man who supported Boris Johnson telling us all that mothers and fathers should stay together or else society is ruined...the irony lol
Perhaps he saw the alternatives to Boris Johnson as being even more problematic.
He is right about the family.

23yrs to get an extra £4 per hr as a carer. Tories did that

How about a Tory Party the people can trust? Just a thought (despite the very high bar it sets).
