The video you've referenced about American vs. European sports fans purposefully made the video seem as if American fans are less passionate about our sports. The reality is you will NEVER find any other sports fans worldwide that have the amount of attendance, level of participation, support, and passion for their sports teams than America. As an American, we are used to people attempting to make us look bad because they can't compete.

    • @vortexathletic

Also, not all the clips that they used were bad; but I could tell the volume was purposefully turned down for the American fans

Ofcourse americans are very passionate about sports. The culture is just different, but that doesn't mean anyone is less passionate. But i would like to see some more ultra style fans in America like the ones we have here in europe, all the chants in this video seem very coordinated but here in europe the fans chant without stadium speakers

    • @traceygriffin8506
      @traceygriffin8506 Рік тому +23

@@robin97rv I have seen the sports chants in European and they seem bland, nonsensical, and sometimes hostile. There seems to be much animosity with European sport fans which is unpleasant to watch. I prefer our happy atmosphere, large attendence (much bigger that Europe), fan chants, songs, team color coordination, musical bands, cheerleaders, and half time performance. It's more exciting and fun than Europe's sports atmosphere. People have different taste so it's a matter of what appeals to you.

@@traceygriffin8506 yeah true it's a matter of taste, i have a season ticket for a soccer club in the netherlands and i love the chants and the atmosphere. I would love to visit a nfl game or something in America, we don't have things like tailgating but it seems a lot of fun and i want to experience it once before i can really judge.

@@robin97rv Although people's ways of supporting their sports teams are different, one thing common around the world is the love and passion for the game and teams. I do hope you can experience the American sports atmosphere it's awesome.

I was in Chicago and they won at home to keep the series alive and they eventually won the whole thing. The significance of the events can't be understated because it was the first time the Chicago Cubs were in the World Series since 1945 and they hadn't won the World Series in 108 years. There is a song that was made just for the Cubs called Go Cubs Go and it was sung so loud that I can hear it my Apartments multiple blocks down.

This was electrifying! Most Europeans have no idea about US college sports, and especially about the football scene. I do not think that there is anything like this in Europe. I remember a video of Stephen Fry coming over here and visiting all 50 states, and he went to one college football game, and all he could say was "I don't get it". And keep in mind that this is across the whole country in the Fall, and stadiums vary in size from about 50,000 to 115,000. For the more successful teams or season's, these stadiums are usually full. College football is played every Saturday, and the NFL is on Sundays, and a couple of night during the week. So, these two never overlay each other.
I loved your reactions!!! I use to play high school football, but when I went to college, the players were huge, and I thought that I would get killed, so I did not join! I lived in the dorm, and got to meet a lot of the college team.

When a Cleveland team had finally won the national championships for the first time in 52 years back in 2016 (the Cleveland Cavaliers had won), we held a massive parade which had over 1 million people in attendance.
We also held a parade when the Cleveland Browns became the second team in the NFL to go 0-16 in 2017, losing every single game that season. A ‘perfect season 2.0’, if you will. A few thousand people attended that one, I think, and the parade route went in a zero around the browns stadium.

Lewis, bro I saw that video you’re referring to, I was really confused. I kept wondering when they were going to show the American fans, then the video ended. It ended! And in typical Lewis fashion I said to myself, “WHAAAAT?” Then I went back and realized the first 3 seconds of the video were the American fans and the rest was all Europa. I live in Arizona and the crowds at Mckale Center (basketball) at the University of Arizona in Tucson are, as you say, mad! Up north in Phoenix we have the Diamondbacks (Pro baseball) in Glendale the Cardinals (pro football) and both stadiums have AC with retractible roofs (because it’s so damn hot here , lmao)! Imagine the sound inside when the roof is closed! Yep, we are American and we LOVE our sports!

Europeans make fun of us for our “soccer” chants and compare to Europe, but that has never been the most popular sport here, you should compare European football chants to college football

9:05 Bama's chant sounds almost exactly like the chant my OU Sooners used to do.
"We're gonna BEAT the HELL out of YOU!!! And YOU!! And YOU, and YOU, and YOU!!"
But unfortunately the artist that produced that song got thrown into prison for messing with underage kids, so we don't use it anymore.. 🙄 It would have to be ours it happened to. Now all we got is our default "Boomer Sooner!" chants.
We need another that isn't copying someone else's chant or song choice.. But it's difficult to come up with something original that isn't forced.
Edit: 9:30 Wait, Auburn does a similar chant as well??.. And that's the song playing in the background that I mentioned earlier.. I wonder if they still do it.

In the US many places do not have professional sports nearby, so people can become huge fans of College Sports. Also, Americans get very little vacation time and Football is played on fall weekends, College on Saturday, and Pro (NFL) on Sundays. So, Americans use this opportunity to get in some well deserved partying!! LOL.

Another big reason its SOOOO loud at college football games (someone can correct me if Im wrong and NFL does have it) but in college football if the "home-field" crowd is loud enough a team may use one of their limited timeouts because the players cant hear each other holler the play call (American football in College). I cant remember if the away team gets anything positive out of that like home team getting something negative but I know it's happened at the PSU Whiteout Games (or a well known clip of games like Michigan vs Penn State) and other college games quite a bit!

Yes, cheerleaders are there to get people cheering so the team hears the fans supporting them. It doesn’t take a lot of encouragement though to get people off their feet at some games.
