I had a 71' cuda 383 previous owner dropped a cam in it. Edelbrock manifold & holley carb. The cluth was so weak it made it across the country. Mostly freeway driving. It must have been pushing 400hp. Even with weak cluth it put me in the ditch twice. I over steered to get out then shifted to third. It was Orange with black billboards.
A 383 making 400 hp lol I don't think so would take mere then a cam to do that unless it's a be hi stock mopa r heads don't flow good # that's why they never made 1HP per cubic inch ,327 you could get 375 HP same as a 440 ,4 Harrell power is in the heads
I always like the AAR 'Cuda's looks better than the T/A Challenger, I think it was the AAR's Hood Scoop and the segmented stripes...or it was because of Dan and Swede, probably all of the above. I've never seen a white AAR ...the racing 'Cuda's were dark blue.
Best Color Combo I've Seen on An AAR Cuda,But Strange How This Street Racer,Like A Few HEMI Cudas ,U Had To Order the Extra Option Guage PKG.To Get the Tach.Theres A RARE Black 71 HEMI CUDA in A Chicago Collection,That Has White Boards ,W/ Same Orig.Owners, "Didn't Check THAT BOX " Oddity,W/ 4 Spd. Least This Ones An Auto.
This era was when the factories were really involved with racing using every trick and then some , one story I read about the acid dipping of bodies going on was cool in that a driver of a cuda accidently leaned on the roof in front of an official and it dented in quite a bit , oops !! great story and Kevin as usual . thanks.
I have a wonderful 1/18 diecast replica of this car that's just about perfect in Panther Pink and I say Panther Pink cause I wouldn't buy a model in a color named after lipstick. lol. It's really nice, tiny but very accurate details, truly the real thing and the model both dazzle the eye. I'm training my hamster to drive it as we speak, just need to get him some tiny goggles and a scarf and I'm in business.
I guess that would look better for show, but they really are a terrible tire by today's standards. I wouldn't drive my AAR with anything but radial tires.
I'm wondering if you had to choose between a T/A challenger or AAR Cuda, which would you choose..........I'll start the survey by choosing a T/A Challenger.
The Ralley instrument cluster was an extra cost option. Also, most of these cars were not built per customer chosen specs. They were built in several production runs, many for a sales "bank", where they sat until someone chose to "adopt them". When I "ordered" mine I was told there were only like 50 left at a Salt Lake City storage yard. So I gave them a list of options I HAD to have, options I would LIKE to have, and options that I might tolerate. I chose an automatic w/ console shift, fast ratio power steering, 3.91:1 rear gear ratio. I didn't specify the color. It came with some options I didn't ask for, but they weren't a deal breaker.
Wow Bud,i wish I was old enough to have ordered a new 70 Cuda! In 70 i was 3,running around with a droopy cloth old school diaper probably ! Lol! But I wish I could! Thanks!
Good eye... i just looked at another 70 in green and black and they are different. On the green cuda they are out wider and wrap the corners... but i am by no means an expert on Mopar's ... but i believe i was comparing apples to apples.. both 70 aar cuda's.
The reason they look different is because they were not installed at the factory. The owners found them in a cardboard box in the trunk. The same for the side exhaust. They were in boxes in the trunk for shipping. Your dealer prep charges would have covered the dealer techs to install them when the cars arrived at the dealership. And not every installer consulted the factory directions for mounting the front spoilers. They just put them where they thought they looked best.
They suck never one a single race in the SCCA trans am series ,they call it an E body but it's really a re skined B body ,mopa r was late in the pony car game it was cheaper and faster to start with a B body firewall and build off of it that's why it used B body suspension it's a big car compared to a mustang or a camaro ,don't get me wrong I love that mopa r got a good looking car but it's just a knock off of a 1st gen camaro
I had a beatup AAR Cuda that I kept running myself during the 80's, I'd take either one right now I never drove a TA but it was a couple of inches longer and weighed nearly the same with the 340. Both were light enough to handle better than the big blocks which you needed around corners
I had a beat up AAR in purple, whoever had it before I did took off the 3 carbs and put a single Carter AVS and Torker manifold, I added headers, rebuilt the AVS carb to specs and drove it for almost 10 years in the 80's, it taught me how to twist a wrench as I did the carb rebuild, and did all my own brakes and everything else ---a lot of fun it was
What makes people put stupid slush box auto's in a beast like that. Only a pistol grip 4 speed manual is fitting for that car. Someone good on a 4 spd would waste anyone with a auto. They put autos in cars like this so the pussies who buy them can let their wives and girlfriends drive them. Try buying a boss 429 or 302 or a 69 Z28 with a auto. HAHAHA You'd get laughed outa the showroom .
Had hundreds of hot wheels and matchbox cars as a kid, and a white aar like this was one of my favorites

Beautiful just beautiful its been my unicorn since i was 10
Nice color combo.
Luv the CUDA 👍👍✌️ Nice 👍

beautiful car
That color combo is weird but looks nice, my favorite was the Pink one.

any brothers collection car is a beast
Keven, great job as usual!
I needs me an AAR!
You said it, " Bad to the Bone "
Very nice. Like side exhaust. Different.
Why are there exhaust cut outs in the rear balance panel when, in another Brothers AAR, there were no cut outs?

Sweet ride!!!!
I said it before and I will say it again dodge was killing it back in the day with these gorgeous cars
Nice
Man One Pretty Automobile Really
They put the same mufflers on the Lil Red Express Truck
Yenko comes to mind.
😢😢😢😢😢 kuwait
It sad emissions weaked the muscle and pony cars
J heads came later this car would have X heads👍
Shame it doesn't have the correct staggered Goodyear Polyglas tires
Great observation. I noticed that too. Fake for sure
I guess that would look better for show, but they really are a terrible tire by today's standards. I wouldn't drive my AAR with anything but radial tires.
Sad how things get lost in time. This car looks like all of the tires are the same size. Wrong. They came from the factory with larger rear tires.
Look better without the vinyl top...
I'm wondering if you had to choose between a T/A challenger or AAR Cuda, which would you choose..........I'll start the survey by choosing a T/A Challenger.
A TA challenger. Better set up for racing.
AAR Cuda for sure!
Challenger. A nicer all around car IMO.
The tail pipe cutouts show that it’s not a true AAR.
didn't see a tach in the dash, that's odd for a "race car" no?
I'm not sure but I think it has something to do with the automatic tranny option. I saw an AAR with pistol grip 4 gear and tach in dash. 🤔

front fender spoilers look like they are on wrong

No, they are correct.
The reason they look different is because they were not installed at the factory. The owners found them in a cardboard box in the trunk. The same for the side exhaust. Nice clone for sure

I'd take the TA cooler and meaner

Meaner than the AAR? Looks or performance? Neither one in my opinion.
@@Aldo-zp8wk in looks
@@moparjo_9753 ..TAs are nice but the AAR Cuda is sick. But let's not kid ourselves I'd take either one in a heartbeat!! You too probably?
Looks like a clone as well
