Great stuff George. Love Soho, been going there since around 87. I noticed a change in the quality of stock around 2017 onwards. I think just a product of the vinyl revival kicking in & the shops getting picked over as soon as anyting good arrives. Ive actually left empty handed the last two times, but who cares when the pubs are great! For me East London is the route to go now if I want to get some serious digging done, still some great shops about. 6"pianist showed a great one in Greenwich. My new route is Flashback, World of Echo,,YoYo Records, Eldica, Atlantis, but theres shops spinging up in Hackney, Shoreditch all the time!
Cheers Harris. As always 'things aint what they used to be' Still, nice to be back there and what I did pick up was great and good prices. I wish I could say the same for the drink - £15 in some places for a cask pint and a medium wine for the Mrs! That ever won't stop us however. I've seen 6" and other do vids on the other areas as you mentioned. Will be adding to my long list. Stay tuned, as another vid coming tomorrow - another shop covered on the outskirts.
It's at least five years since I bought records in London. I think the 'vinyl revival', as you put it George, attracts younger buyers who are very selective in what they buy, and the retailers know that if they stock the usual suspects and price them the same as everyone else, then those newbies will pay what's asked. Crate diggers do better in small towns with their independent second-hand shops. Having said that, the Titus Groan 12" looks a great buy.
@davidatkinson-lifematters4826 Thanks David. The Titus Groan was quite a bargain actually at £6.99. Goes for more online. The Berrick street error has been pointed out by a few!! All these years and never knew.
@@georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934 you are welcome, I struggle to get out and about to dealers, but have also noticed that good OGs are becoming harder to find in the wild, so to speak.
Nice little video. Come and see us in our shop in Tunbridge Wells, the biggest and cheapest shop south of London. Sugarbush, 2 London Road, TN1 1DQ...open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays only. Ps - Berwick St is pronounced "Berrick" as opposed to "Burrwick" :)
i love going crate digging with you. i had an alberto y lp ages ago .i dont remember it. good music played in the pub. on that note i picked up the new Cure. its really good. sort of a heavy disintegration. cheers!
Hi George, Went there about three weeks ago.Its inevitably nothing like the record shop metropolis it was back in the day. Have spent a small fortune down that street 😂 I prefer the pubs in the area now to the overpriced record shops tbh. I won’t be rushing back there to record shop although I love soho as an area of London to go. The shop were far too expensive. I have a limit to what I want to spend on a record. Cheers fella, Chris
@TheVinylOrchard Fair enough! What I got was certainly pretty cheap, but prices overalk were a little all over the place. I absolutely adore London pubs and Soho had some beautiful looking ones whilst I was exploring. Sadly the price of drink in them is not for the faint hearted.
@peterharknett4695 Interesting comment there. How exactly can I show the shop fully without moving? Is the channel just about me? Probably not as I'm showing and talking about vinyl.
@RolloBollo-is5xr to promote a shop it is usually best to show the actual products for sale!😊Oh, and i once found 3 Ananda Shankar's streets of Calcutta and the Smoke german only export, on my knees in a backroom in a dusty Calcutta backstreet shop, Mr. vinyl hunter🤣where did you get your New Tweedy Brothers original....etc,etc
@@georgeprior-vinylshowtell4934 literally made my head spin trying to watch what you're filming. Try moving slower so the camera can focus on something, anything. Would like to see what the shops have on the walls, for example. How much stock is new, rare, reissue and prices. Would really help promote the shops you're visiting. P.s. have you got blossom toes? 😍
Always interesting to find out about the experience of my vc "colleagues" London is still a great place for digging vinyls. Thanks for sharing, mate.
Some interesting finds. Thanks for the Berwick Street tour.
Most welcome, than for viewing 🙂

Love London George, and great you’re supporting the local shops, nice one!!!!
@RolloBollo-is5xr Thank you as always young man!!
Hey George. Some great snags, and a pint! Cheers

Looks cold George ! A good shot for Oasis fans at the start!
It was a bit chilly, we missed the rain luckily. Yes indeed, the thumbnail shot was about right there I reckon!
@ perfect filming ! At least it didn’t snow ❄️

@ Well I wouldn't have known either, had I not been from a mere 50 miles away from that town in the Scottish border!
Just listened to Two Star Hotel on Discogs and I really like it. Reminds me a bit of of Talking Heads.
@pipelinecenter That's good to hear! Admittedly you've beaten me to it, as I've yet to spin it.
Enjoyed the walkabout and content, subscribed.

I'm tempted by the new Cure. Over social media everywhere and very positive reviews by all.
Recently went to Reckless Records during a visit to Chicago.Price wise nor too much different to the UK.
@@taxi134-y1q Hi Richard, there is a Reckless in Chicago? Is this part of the same chain?

Ber-wick ? Berrick

pointless use of a camera in a shop, just spinning around and not focusing on anything. Is this channel just about you really, not vinyl?

Yes George, how utterly pointless to film in a shop that you are reviewing!!!? Utter madness lol. For me and other ‘proper’ hunters thank you.
