  • In 2014, I was a 44 year old father of two young kids, busy with a normal life when I suddenly had a rapid decline in my lung function due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). By the fall of 2014, my condition had declined so much that I was close to having to check into the hospital full time. Fortunately, I received a double lung transplant on 10/28/2014 at the University of California San Francisco Hospital. I was subsequently guided through the recovery process by the wonderful staff in the UCSF Lung Transplant Program to whom I'm deeply grateful. These videos are my attempt to share what I learned through this process in the hopes my experience may help others. These are my personal experiences, perspectives and opinions and are not professional medical advice.
