The 2008 Capital One Bowl was a great example of what they will need to do against Alabama. I remember sitting down to watch that game thinking it could get ugly, but boy was I wrong. Everything has to be on the table and J.J. needs to have the best game of his life for us to win. I think they'll be ready.
Good show and analysis gentlemen. Much appreciated! I agree with the idea that Michigan has had a very successful season and the National Championship would be "gravy". Go Blue!
That's how I'm trying to view the playoff. I hope we beat Bama but I'm not expecting it. And honestly, beating Ohio State was the most important thing this year because all of those yahoos in Columbus were creating a narrative that Michigan only beat them in '21 and '22 because of Connor Stalions. This '23 Ohio State game essentially counted for three. It was arguably the biggest game Michigan has played since the '98 Rose Bowl to win the '97 National Championship. Also, having the cowardly snake Tony Pettiti have to get on that stage with Harbaugh also made this season a success already. I understand if Michigan loses what the narrative will be coming from Ohio, but we can always remind them that their beloved Marvin Harrison has zero Gold Panties and that Day is 1-3 against Michigan.
Don't think you will have too much problem handling Alabama they had to rely on a Hail Mary pass as time ran out to get by Auburn. Will Johnson and JJ McCarthy should be healthy for the Rose Bowl go Blue
Michigan has been healthy most the season but injured really caught up to us the last few weeks. This next 4 or so weeks will be really important to get guys healthy; JJ being the top of the list. We need him to be healthy and a run threat to have a chance against Bama. Their Edges are lethal. Speaking of which, to stop Dallas Turner and Co, Michigan needs their O Line to get healthy, especially since Zinter is obviously out. We'll need Henderson, who missed the Maryland game, to get healthy and play the game of his career. Nugent hopefully also gets healthy. I'm sure everyone is banged up and getting them at full strength is key. Sadly, Bama also has this time to get healthy.
If Michigan does not get chunk plays they will not be Alabama. Corum and Edwards need to put a premium on 12 yard runs. Some 20 yards catches will help too. On defense, Milroe is the first dual threat qb we have played in a while. Containing him will be important becz Bama won't break a lot of big runs, but Milroe can make things happen off script that can extend plays and extend drives...
I live in Alabama, can't stand Alabama and was at the Orange Bowl when we beat Alabama on a missed extra point in overtime. These fools are so cocky! Alabama is nothing to fear! Get healthy, prepare properly and bring the physicality. Confuse them defensively, contain Milroe and he WILL make mistakes! Go Blue!
Michigan.... It's time again to prove you can beat the best...ALL of the playoff teams are good....But, so are you!!! Embrace the Alabama challenge and win it!! GO BLUE!!
I don't care what any of you say. I've watched enough football at 40 years old and if you think this Bama defense is bounds better than the psu or osu defenses, you're smoking the good stuff.
Just used game time to by my father in law some tickets to a team I don’t like. But his taste in teams certainly don’t indicate how his daughter, my wife looks. But I used game time, the prices were less than others and I told them The Wolverine is where I learned about them.
Iowa gave it everything they had...just look at how their player chased down 82....Michigan shut them out since when is that not a great thing. bet no one dominates Michigan's o lone like Steve Etman did in the Rosebowl...funny how Skene forgets that embarrassment
Semaj gassed but that kid had run 60 yards as a gunner and then ran another >90 yards to chase Semaj down. How did we let that kid (from Ypsi!!!) get away?
Well another successful season, Those who stay will be Big Ten Champions, Bo wasn’t lying, time to celebrate our 13-1 season and start preparing for Fresno State
@@freeclimb5487Zero. Watching Ryan Day’s most recent press conference where he totally blamed his players for not executing instead of taking ANY responsibility as a coach. No wonder McCord is outta there. Who would want to play for him? What a douche. Compared to JH who builds up his players.
Our TEs vs their LBs is a good matchup. Their DTs are not great. They gave up a lot of yards (running) against Auburn and others. Their DEs are NFL caliber. Same as PSU, OSU and a couple of others.
I think what Bama did against Georgia matters more than what they did against Auburn, but hold on to that delusional hope. I'll take Saban's 7 rings with a month to prepare against a coach who can't win bowl games any day. 20+ Bama win.
But they beat Georgia! Um, wait… Georgia Vs G Tech 31-23 Vs Missouri 30-21 Florida 43-20 Vandy 37-20 Auburn 27-20 S Carolina 24-14 Not the Georgia of 2 years ago.
I'm pretty proud of this time right now. If we lose a close game to Alabama and they go on to win it all that's not awful. Last year hurt so much because we could have easily beaten TCU and then they get dragged from a rope behind a pickup truck for miles in the title game.
One of my biggest concerns is Bama is use to playing on natural grass and Michigan is almost always on turf. As a former player, it makes a big difference. Michigan only played 2 games on grass this season…@ Michigan State & Penn State.
Bingo! Look at the SECCG. Bama players were slipping all over the field. That was the only game they played on Turf. As you know, practice and games on turf are totally different.
Guys, the question is why are we not recruiting big and fast wide receivers anymore. Michigan always ran the ball and was still able to recruit and develop wide receivers. So its not because we run the ball so much. Why is Clemons not playing more?
Just a question for Mr. Skene: Did you play with that intensity every game at M? Yes, you won 5 Big Ten Championships but what happened in terms of a National Championship? I am not being derogatory. I just want to understand why M could not win bowl games regularly. Why do we (M) have such a poor record in bowl games going back to the year (1973) that I started to follow M football? I wish we could have played in the cold. No way those PAC 10-12 teams could have beaten M in football weather.
Alabama is more than a worthy opponent...we have our hands full for....esp with the O-Line/running game issues noted against Iowa. The offense came out flat...can't have that
The depth of the O line is … where? Who? What’s the line supposed to be next year? Iowa just ran through us like s#%* through a tin horn, to borrow a Saban quote
@@teddy.d174yeah I don’t get it. They’re the most favorable matchup of the 3 other playoff teams. We will be the best defense Bama has played all year.
Michigan has been openly gunning for Georgia the past few years. So much so, they overlooked TCU last year. Why would they be scared of Alabama? Michigan is physical and deep and has plenty of speed. A running QB is something they aren't used to seeing, but the LBs can move.
@@teddy.d174 because it’s Bama lol go look at all the scores in all the games in all of Alabamas championship winning seasons and you’ll see they always struggle with a team or two here and there, and that causes everyone to doubt them, and then all the doubt just fuels them to win.

Just remember. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results. That goes for winning, losing, and almost losing.
No, Alabama will put forth its best effort in this game.
@@chs_ambs8356 It should be a great game.
Bama is gonna dog walk michigan.😂
@Smahta_Dhenyu Ok.... smh. I hope every player on bama believes that.
Great point. Mikey is on the "Top 30 LIST". Along with Blake. Fantastic character to match or even exceed their athletic ability.
Trente Jones actually had very good PFF scores in pass pro and run-blocking. One holding call was BS.

I really wish Semaj Morgan housed that punt. Though it did allow Blake to get an extra TD and then tie the A Train later in the game!
Whenever UM has needed a big play Sainristill has come through time after time. Hopefully he can do it again against Bama.

It's a good thing UM is deep with 300lb+ DT's that they rotate on the defensive line. It'll be tough for Bama to run the ball.

Iowa has a fantastic all around defense. Not unusual to have a game like this offensively, especially under the circumstance.
Not as good Alabama...they are big & faster across the board
Semaj gassed but that kid had run 60 yards as a gunner and then ran another >90 yards to chase Semaj down. How did we let that kid (from Ypsi!!!) get away?
Win or lose, this has been an EPIC season. NIL is taking its toll on the SEC, but it will take more time. For now, it's hard to hang with them.
We played Iowa the same way we played Maryland we got up 10 real quick and the offense just felt like it was going to be a easy win

One thing for sure if they play like they played against Iowa when they play Alabama and Michigan Wolverine will lose badly against Alabama.
