These videos are so great and this is probably the video series that I expect the most during the week.
If I could ask/suggest a couple of thing:
1 - Update us on what's changed on the camp site (the area with the containers) and show a broader view of the place. I always like to know where things are and what's different.
2 - Show us who is who. The video introduced us to two new people, but I saw a lot more as the video went on. I know this ends up turning this more into a reality show than it should, but hey, we fell like we are part of Projeck Kamp, too! :)
3 - I liked the documentary vibe that Dave gave to these videos. I'd love to see more of that with Felix doing his things.
4 - I see some people complaining about how it's too long. For me it could be 1 hour long! It's only once a week!
Love the project, wish you guys the best.
    Keep up the great work.

I agree. I like how Dave had almost like a signature on his videos. Would love to see him more, or at least once.
I like the fast speed video parts of how things get trimmed/built and the before and after results, maybe we could bring them back? The tent building would have been nice on high speed for example.
LOVE the stationary scenes, close ups with music. I do think some of them last a little too long, which makes the video seem to last longer. Beautiful nature. More mushrooms close ups! Great job Felix! :D

Your insight in your beautiful land, your taming of the brambles, your mindfulness of nature, your beautiful simple designs of the outhouses, your willingness to take chances, the genius idea of a seperate workshop and a kitchen set up in shipping containers to be delivered on the land. I've been following the project since the beginning, I couldn't wait for the new video, I understood the break and was glad it was April.
I don't know if this is the right way to go. video and sound is better but really miss the experience i had last season, dave who took you all the way and made you feel like you were there.
I also thought that dave stayed the host and someone came in to edit. I now had the feeling that I was watching some people having a good time on a piece of land, nothing wrong with that of course but not at all informative in terms of the project for which I follow the channel.

Let me start by stating that I absolutely adore this channel and am invested in it and project Kamp. This is the first channel that has this type of content that had fantastic storytelling, not yet a fan of the new type of storytelling...but sometimes things just need some time to improve.
I understand that Dave needs to spend his time wisely, but I kind of suspect that he might have underestimated how much of this channel relies on his personality, creativity, structure, pace and perspective. This is the first video that I didn't watch in one go and had to revisit several times in order to watch it whole... To end on a bright note: the music and b-roll are stunning.

Hey there! I have some tips for clearing silvas (the spiky thorny bushes):
    - There are some blades for the machine you are using that have two tips bended downward, those are made especificaly for silvas, and you shred them with a downward motion.
    - Silvas are a very tough bush that sprout again very easily, one way to prevent that is to turn the soil 5 cm in order to expose the roots, wich woul then die off
On the topic of using the shreder machine (sorry, idk the exact name in english) its a good practice to start in a corner and organize in advance how you are going to make the cuts: when you have tall bushes or grass, they will fall on top of the blade, which will make it spend more energy (up to 40% more), for example. Also, if the blades turn clockwise, if the user makes a movement from left to right, you will be throwing debris in your direction, if you make it from right to left, if there is like a rock you cant see, it will be thrown away from you.
Love your work, cheers from Portugal :)

Loved the video, would be great to have the pace and structure of the past videos.
I found this much harder to follow in terms of information and the progress on the Kamp as i feel like some things could have been more concise (e.g. I feel the building of the stairs didn't have to be 10 mins long) but never the less enjoyed seeing what a more realistic 'day to day' looks like.

This was superbly done! Something for everyone to love somewhere in the mix, excellent camera work & editing, and the feeling of a real sustainable community starting to spread its wings. Look hyperspeed cityfolk, the joy of rural life is the slower organic pace of every day, and the lush, green living environment full of raw Nature. Drink it in in sips and savor it, not the usual gulps & caffeine stimulated chugalugs.
Project Kamp is a look at the positive possibilities of the 21st century. Women using construction & landscaping tools, figuring things out, and getting hard physical work done. Men preparing meals, fully capable of operating a washing machine, and behaving like mature gentlemen. Gender roles dissolving as we each grow to our full potential as capable human beings able to contribute to common community goals.
My generation tried this back in the 60's & 70's but we weren't evolved enough to succeed truly sustainably. Some wanted to smoke weed and hang out, when there was real work to be done. Others just wanted some Free Love and endless Good Vibes. Project Kamp looks far more mature, more capable, and much more focused.
My wife & I want to wish you all the best. You are modeling a better way to live, so keep living the dream. Keep it real and show folks how a better human future can be created & sustained. So far, so good...

I'm curious as to how it will be this year also.
Whether I get a heart from them or not is not my objective when I add my comment.

I really enjoyed the video and it's nice to see new people arround the camp. I liked the close up on the nature, and the shot that are showing the athmosphere of the camp. However, I felt there was too much of it, and not enough explanation and narrative. Also, the video was overall a bit long compared with the content. Finally, it would have been nice to see timelaps and aerial view, to better understand what was going on.
I still enjoy the project and I'm confident that the video will become better in the futur.

It'll cost money but it'll cost a lot more if a leg comes off or much worse. Also sharpen the chain. Your guy put the saw in the dirt after that first cut near the start of the vid. Also for grass your better with a string trimmer than a brush cutter

About the Mimosas: Wouldn't it be sensible to cut down ALL of them so you have a stack of dry/drying wood for burning and building while that frees up the promotion of native plants or simple frees up space for you to plant native species?

Good job on the stairs Julie. Have y’all thought about using mimosa pieces in a similar fashion to make wooden paths for when it rains? They can be strung easily with jute or screwed to larger mimosa limbs

Hey there, I’m signing off. If this is the new style of reporting the progress, I don’t feel “at home” anymore. I miss Dave here, and zooming in on plants and snails is not what I want to see of a growing project.
Thnks a LOT for all last year video’s. I keep the inspiring idea with me of your ambitious projct and wish you all the best. May it grow, may it grow. Bye bye 👋

16:00 if anyone ever stuggles with this stuff, because there are no numbers added to the metal poles (and the manual doesn't really help) - start laying them out(same looking ones to same looking ones). Tents are usually symmetrical. If you got something only once, it usually goes in the center.
From there, it's mostly just adding mirror images of poles into available holes.

Well done everyone at Project Kamp! I enjoy your content and it’s many beautiful expressions.
Looking through the comments though, remember that you can’t please all people all the time. This is YOUR community and if you’re happy with your content, by all means! Understandably, you want a dialogue with us the online community, but “Those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” - Dr. Seuss.

Wow!! Every one's opinion is just that.
We are all here for the experience that we saw last year and the purpose of it.
It will hopefully get back on track.
      More of the purpose!!
Appreciate your opinion on our opinions.
If you would like they are taking donations.

    • @ARTiFKTOR
      @ARTiFKTOR 2 роки тому

@@leestimis9264 sure, I see… however given that the community is expanding, by its very nature going back to last year’s purpose is not possible as there are more players at play in this wonderful “documentary”. All things go through a growth, maintenance and finally decay phase. Right now this community is blossoming and I’m just suggesting we all watch it bloom.
And I am doing one better than donation: I am starting my own precious plastic work space through strategic partnerships in my local community.

@@ARTiFKTOR You couldn't have picked the worst person to quote on this topic. Did you know Dr. Suess was an incredible racist who depicted nonwhites as subhuman caricatures? Of course Dr. Suess thinks those who mind his bigotry don't matter.

    • @ARTiFKTOR
      @ARTiFKTOR 2 роки тому

@@bobweiram6321 yes I did know that and guess what? He doesn’t matter. I’m sure you feel the same given your view of him. What does matter is that we allow Project Kamp to become what it wants to and not treat it as some child who doesn’t know better and we have to fill it’s head with all these opinions. Genuine question here: Would you like it if a platoon of people came to your home and told you what you needed to change based on what they wanted? If you would like it, then we have nothing to discuss as we have highly different opinions. Which is OK, as long as I respect your wishes and you respect mine.

Its a DeWaard Tent, maybe they did military stuff aswell, but its more a company for private or group tents. Their strenght is family tents. For sure the first company as i know in western europe that made really good storm tents for long periods of usage especially in seecoast conditions. You can get still exchange stuff for the tents cuse company is still there. We have the luck to could afford such a tent for our island summer vacations and we love it sooo much.

18:25 75% hydration works too - you just have to stretch and fold it (with wet hands [don't grab it - pinch it 🦀]) - no knead it.
50% hydration is pretty low. 60% is usually a great sweet spot for non sticky dough.
(My neapolitan style pizza has 65% hydration.)
