I hope you see this Arnel. This is quite long but hope this becomes an eye opener. Great performance as always by the world's best vocalist. . Looking at this is painful, the crowd is so hard to please. Pinoys cannot appreciate what's in front of them, their own local talents, giving their best. It takes an alien to please them most of the time. Our fellowmen have not grown and evolved over the years, inspite of the post modern reinassance we have had since the 70s and the different musicalities and genres we have adapted through stylistically. Artistically, many are not evolving as enthusiasts, if the keyboard warriors can only come alive and pay to see him perform, maybe the die hard supporters can be a big boost to our morale and the morale of Arnel. No one was jumping and standing up here, its like their watching a seminar than a concert. Great musicians, we always had the best. Just to tell a story about our craft. My British boyfriend who happened to watch our bands here in the pubs and small clubs 15 years ago was so amazed at the bands, the repertoire, the showmanship, musicianship, they are way better than the bands in UK. I remember bringing him to 70s Bistro , Freedom Bar, Bagaberde, Mayrics, Hobbit House, and even exposed him to pop and rnb artists, and the showbands. What he said was music to my ears. We are the best artists in the world , naturally gifted, and never out of tune. beast modes musicianship, and foreigners will pay double appreciating what they see. he always gave a generous tip to the band as a sign of appreciation for sitting there enjoying beer and the best entertainment. Here we are just contented watching silently with little appreciation, its like we are numbed by greatness, and its just like a regular day we see them perform everywhere even in the most obscure places. what I see the trend is, singers are joining international contest to get the exposure and appreciation that they never get here. Moreover the judges in our singing contests are so used to raising the bar higher and higher, that some of the best talents slip them ( a cognitive dissonance), or a certain supremacy culture, that only the best of the best " of their judgment" deserves it. In rock, I miss the days of Muziklaban, Pulp Slummerslam, the indie bands, rock productions in clubs. those were the days, organic musicians shined doing their own songs. not mainstream. And they were the training ground, a jumpstart to the bigger mainstream stage. Such a sad trait these are all great covers the experience is so worth the money and the small crowd and venue gets you a more intimate look at arnel. Still this crowd cannot, appreciate the gold glittering in front of their eyes. That's why Arnel almost gave up , and the last minute, that fire and hope still shining its last embers, he was saved. Philippine's loss is America's gain. BTW, thank you for paying homage to our great rock and roll OPM icons, the classic Pinoy rock., this should have brought the house down. Salute.

Happy to watch this solo performance of idol Arnel Pineda, who has a very successful journey with legrndary band, The Journey, that brought international acclaim. Let's continue to support and love him for he's one of the best rock vocalists in the world. Honestly, those many years of world performances/concerts with the Journey as its lead vocalist since 2007 put a strain on his vocal chords and considering his age too. He still has an amazing voice tho. Arnel Pineda is such a humble and great guy.

There is something in this audience that I just couldn't put a finger on, and I don't mean to compliment. Well, Arnel, you rock and you deserve a much better audience than this.
With how hard Arnel has been working the whole show, the best these kababayans could do is actually get up, let loose and show some appreciation and make it look like they’re really having a great time. But i guess it’s still the same for so many years now, just lazilly sitting down watching the show, looking at their phones for the most part, applauding once in a while and that’s about it. Once in a whle, you will some really avid fans get up and dance, but for the most part, they get up to get a selfie taken with the artist, not really to let loose. When he approached the fans during the final song, the first one to stand up were a white couple, while the rest of the Pinoys beside them just sat there like they were born paralyzed from the waist down. Then at the end you hear them asking for more.....of course, they wanted to get more for what they paid for (laging may tawad or give away). I can’t really explain it, but I had my share of performing in front a very hard to satisfy filipino crowd, they will clap, they will show a bit of emotion, but never really get into it. I guess, they need to all get a bit intoxicated to let loose. I’m not hating on Pinoys, because I am a true blooded pinoy myself. I’m just pointing out the obvious for as long as I can remember. Now I wonder if it’s the same when a foreigner is performing in front? Hmmm....
Agree with you..i guess its culturally related..filipinos are shy people at times in public..Arnel gave his best performance here..But i saw AP concerts in US filipino audience really rocks
Maybe because the songs he is singing is not that popular. Just like me, out of the 6 songs he sang so far, I can only sing along 2 songs (the refrain portion).

A TOTAL PERFORMER AND TRUE ARTIST IS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT GIVING A GREAT SHOW AND PEOPLE ENJOYING AND GETTING THEIR MONEYS WORTH. HE DESERVES TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED AS A NATIONAL ARTIST BRINGING THIS GREAT PRIDE THAT AN ASIAN AND A FILIPINO IS FRONTING THE WORLDS MOST POPULAR AMERICAN BAND AND SINGING THE MOST DOWNLOADED SONG IN HISTORY. THE JOURNEY CROWD AT MOA IN 2009 WAS THE REAL DEAL . IT WAS A MIXED CROWD OF FOREIGN AND LOCAL AUDIENCE BUT MOSTLY FILIPINOS. THAT SHOULD BE THE BENCHMARK OF AN APPRECIATIVE CROWD AT LEAST TO GIVE SUPPORT TO an international artist or international rockstar as arnel. But i guess it’s still the same for so many years now, just lazilly sitting down watching the show, looking at their phones for the most part, applauding once in a while and that’s about it. Once in a whle, you will some really avid fans get up and dance, but for the most part, they get up to get a selfie taken with the artist, not really to let loose. When he approached the fans during the final song, the first one to stand up were a white couple, while the rest of the Pinoys beside them just sat there like they were born paralyzed from the waist down. Then at the end you hear them asking for more.....of course, they wanted to get more for what they paid for (laging may tawad or give away). I can’t really explain it, but I had my share of performing in front a very hard to satisfy filipino crowd, they will clap, they will show a bit of emotion, but never really get into it. I guess, they need to all get a bit intoxicated to let loose. I’m not hating on Pinoys, because I am a true blooded pinoy myself. I’m just pointing out the obvious for as long as I can remember. Now I wonder if it’s the same when a foreigner is performing in front? Hmmm....
Agree with you..i guess its culturally related..filipinos are shy people at times in public..Arnel gave his best performance here..But i saw AP concerts in US filipino audience really rocks
Maybe because the songs he is singing is not that popular. Just like me, out of the 6 songs he sang so far, I can only sing along 2 songs (the refrain portion).

THAT WHY WE SHOULD BE THANKFUL FOR EVERY MOMENT, AND SHOW GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION. ARNEL IS GIVING HIS WHOLE SELF EVERYTIME, WHETHER FOREIGN OR LOCAL AUDIENCE HE GIVES HIS 100 PERCENT, AND NOT JUST FOR THE BUCKS. A TOTAL PERFORMER AND TRUE ARTIST IS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT GIVING A GREAT SHOW AND PEOPLE ENJOYING AND GETTING THEIR MONEYS WORTH. HE DESERVES TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED AS A NATIONAL ARTIST BRINGING THIS GREAT PRIDE THAT AN ASIAN AND A FILIPINO IS FRONTING THE WORLDS MOST POPULAR AMERICAN BAND AND SINGING THE MOST DOWNLOADED SONG IN HISTORY. THE JOURNEY CROWD AT MOA IN 2009 WAS THE REAL DEAL . IT WAS A MIXED CROWD OF FOREIGN AND LOCAL AUDIENCE BUT MOSTLY FILIPINOS. THAT SHOULD BE THE BENCHMARK OF AN APPRECIATIVE CROWD AT LEAST TO GIVE SUPPORT TO an international artist or international rockstar as arnel. ( sorry for the all caps, im not screaming, just got stucked keys. its a long way to go to achieve that kind of audience.

Just like any other popular singers out there- they take the time to rest their vocals - to prolong the life of vocal cords than abusing them.. Have a great time resting if you can..
