That little green engine is a Norris Locomotive Works 4-2-0. Norris started building them in the late 1830s, started delivery of them in the early 1840s, they called it the England class because they built them for the Birmingham & Gloucester Railway in England. The first one was called the George Washington, for its trial run it was tested on a 7% grade in Philadelphia, becoming the first locomotive to climb a hill under its own power pulling a load, proving steam locomotives could climb grades while pulling loads, this accomplishment was so amazing that engineering journals at the time doubted it happened and a second trial with a heavier load than the first took place, the locomotive pulled it with ease.
@@billfusionenterprise No it is not, you're thinking of Bachmanns La Fayette set. La Fayette was one of Norris' England class locomotives. The John Bull was originally an 0-4-0 with a leading truck added later changing it to a 2-4-0, the John Bull has 4 driving wheels not 2, the train sets model both engines correctly, the La Fayette is a 4-2-0 while the John bull is a 2-4-0.
I knew exactly what that N scale flat car was the minute you unwrapped it Harrison because I have the same type of car in HO scale only mine is a Walthers Mainline model decorated for TTX. These cars can run with either four 20 foot containers, two 40 foot containers, or a two 20 foot and one 40 foot container load configuration. I've also got a few of those old Athearn blue box passenger cars as well. The most trouble I encountered assembling these cars are actually pressing the windows in place. You may have to do some trimming and filing to get everything to fit properly, but they look very nice when finished! Very cool lot from some generous viewers Harrison, thanks for sharing and happy holidays!

It's great to see the PC Train set pieces come out. I'm thrilled to finally have ALL of the sets in their entirety, which took quite some time to build up. I've sent many letters to PC "Insiders" about it, but they don't seem to see enough interest in it to ever restart them.
I agree about the need to issue the sets again. The track and controller aren’t much but the trains were excellent value. I still have three sets I’ve yet to unbox and now I’m uncertain about using them given their increased value.
Epic stuff, especially that Athearn Amtrak set! FYI, there are two sellers online that sell 3D-printed interiors for your RPO, coach, diner, and dome (but nothing for baggage cars...) for about $10 a car. I'm doing it to my 9-car Athearn set and with some cheap sitting figures, they look incredible for a fraction of what it'd cost to buy proto-spec passenger cars!

I knew STM has a few Am track engines but no cars to go with them and my plan was to convert them to old CN 1970 cars Black and white he got me back in the passion of HO scale modelling and I know I can always find more when I do have a one main track line layout running. Wow that was a huge lot of stuff. I have the same Amtrak cars by Athearn. They're actually quite nice. That's good you got some more stuff to add to the collection.
The story on all Athearn blue box passenger cars is they're to short. They're made short so they fit on 18" radius curves. They should be 80' feet in ho but are much shorter.
@@bryanphillips6666 well the ones I have on 18-in radius curves which isn't my layout curves because my layout has been taken down since I moved. But the cars end up hitting each other on the ends with a small loop of ez track that I have set up temporary so they're better off with 22-in or broader curves. Also to me it doesn't matter about the length and all that other stuff I don't care for it. That's why I have customized my Mantua pacifics and a Riverrossi docksider and I love the fact that it irritates people because the Mantua pacifics are technically Baltimore Ohio boilers. I literally was in a nmra Facebook group and the fact that guys were losing their minds because God forbid I stepped outside the box. I find it hilarious. I've got that pegasus model the way to keep it running is it needs constant mantinace probably about once every 2 days of running time it's a finicky but good model It's a early American locomotive based of the b&o Lafayette
Nice haul Harrison. Those Soo Line loco are SHARP looking for a custom build!! I have one of those Bachmann 4-2-0's Its a neat little piece, but I find its a bit light on the front and could use a bit of weight. You should turn your (N-Scale setup) as a dual weather layout. With the winter look AND spring and summer look cuz it will look like the snow is melting for spring time
for the shay - Wiseman hobbies of kentucky has the parts which are missing. They are rather problematic to get running smooth, but once they do, they are magical. good luck.

I found one of those exact same Bachmann Sealand Intermodals new in the box earlier this year! Love that piece, fits the period I'm aiming for perfectly.
I left the group because I couldn't stand them badgering me to the point where I would have gotten banned was saying what I wanted to say.
I think SMT mainline is the only youtuber i get excited by when they upload now
Yeah same
Agreed
Me too
@@corydora_catfish same
It means the world to me to hear something like that, thanks a bunch!
I've got that pegasus model the way to keep it running is it needs constant mantinace probably about once every 2 days of running time it's a finicky but good model
It's a early American locomotive based of the b&o Lafayette
Nice haul Harrison. Those Soo Line loco are SHARP looking for a custom build!! I have one of those Bachmann 4-2-0's Its a neat little piece, but I find its a bit light on the front and could use a bit of weight. I believe I used a small "split shot" weight used for fishing in the stack to help with the rail contact.
I think you should put a drawer on your ho scale layout and put the n scale trains in there
The D&RGW is the Rio grande
Denver and Rio Grande Western. Love Colorado NG
@@realcanadian67 Thanks
You’re going to do a product review? Wow, cool. It’s happening. Companies are sending you stuff. I’m still waiting for Chez Bistro to send me free escargot to review on my other channel M&M Snails. Great haul. Such a generous community.
Oxi-Day-Shun… say it over and over… you can do this!! 😂❤🎉
And when you say it it is oxidization... Sheesh there's always one critic
Hi SMT Mainline! Great video!
Could you do a tour of your HO layout?
🤣"I wonder if that's important?"@24:14 Thanks for sharing your unboxing, I'm as excited as when I'm unboxing my own lots😀👍Merry Christmas and Happy New Year☃️🎄🚂🎅✌️🚂🎄☃️
Great for you Christmas is there
Wow. Lots of great stuff
Good haul man! Merry Xmas!
The Hershey's car is a gem.
Those Whatchamacalit Candy Bars Are Very Good once You have One You’ll have more.
I will have to try it
The haul you got Rocks You’ll be Busy for awhile So much for Goin to a train show. After New years You are Gonna Have To Take Enventory And Balance out what You have. Your gonna have ToBuild A shelving for your Accesories.
Several shelves have been built recently for storage.
Your Gonna Need It.
Merry Christmas, SMT! I hope that you got some great presents. I posted a video with a small Christmas tree.
Very nice! Also, that shay is an MDC roundhouse. The bachmann spectrum ones are driven with the actual prototypical driveshaft, whereas those MDC ones are driven by the driveshaft underneath.
I wasn't aware of that, thanks for sharing.
I had a HO big boy but the hilarious thing that happened recently is during the time I was trying to make a video apparently the rotor inside of it was damaged and basically I couldn’t fix it so I maybe will be able to send you it
And trust me, I didn’t upload the video
Besides, I still even have the footage
😂😂😂😅😅😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭
*part falls off* wonder if that's important.
You should turn your (N-Scale setup) as a dual weather layout. With the winter look AND spring and summer look cuz it will look like the snow is melting for spring time
That little spine car is for carrying containers
I see, must be able to fit quite a few.
I think that's probably about a hundred foot car so I can imagine it's probably two of the long containers
Anything in a box that comes with styrofoam is going to be 👌 this was a great video nice job.
for the shay - Wiseman hobbies of kentucky has the parts which are missing. They are rather problematic to get running smooth, but once they do, they are magical. good luck.
Thanks for the info
Nice video I love that Hersheys Engine
Harrison,
It looks like you have gained LOTS of subscribers since I last saw your videos on a regular basis. Seems like the Acela crash on your layout livestream was just yesterday!
Hey, it's been a while. Yes the channel has grown quite a bit from when you joined in 2018 if I'm correct? How have you been?
@@SMTMainline Yes that sounds about correct, time flies! Still working at the local train shop, I got a full time job this July, so it’s been hard to keep up with UA-cam. Glad to see the channel going strong!
The fact that he passed everything in the box for the letter.❤
The hilarious moment when a piece falls of the 0-6-0 and he says "Hmm wonder if that's important".
You should make your N scale layout a fall layout and you should make an 00 scale layout
18:53-19:00 If it's what I think it is, I think you can now have the caped crusader patrol your layout.😄 Merry Christmas!
That car will look good at a railroad crossing!
Since it is the Batmobile, it can be parked outside of Life-Like's or Bachmann Plasticville Police Department buildings.
Damn, the minute I saw the Busch box I knew it was gonna be good
Oh yes!
Hey SMT!
Can you make a video of a disassembly of the Acela express because I just got one
And I’m trying to fix a torque issue, I can’t figure out how to take the shell off of mine to repair it.
The N Scale Burlington Route Diesel is a Plymouth MDT , the same basis as the Tyco Transformers Diesel that was worked on a while back.
strange thing is, that the ho-scale version is also 3 axle
The Shay is a MDC model offered as rtr or kit form and was offered as a two truck or three truck. Also offered in Hon3 and Ho standard gauge.
