OK, you are an absolute genius. I have wasted a bunch of blanks trying to line up the engraving design manually and it did not work - not even once. This is an absolutely brilliant idea. Worked on my first try - and I started with my own design! If I could like this post more than once, I would! Thank you!
I am so thankful at how willing you are to help so many of us that are just wanting to use our cricut maker to make gifts to give to out loved ones. You are just so kind and very knowledgeable of what your doing . Have you ever tried doing the impress art piece that looks like a washer? I’m just wondering if it’s even impossible .
Thank you for your great videos on engraving. After watching this video I think I am ready to try some engraving and possibly some drawing. Lastly, I was wondering if you’ve tried placing more than 1 item on the jig at a time? For example maybe 3 bracelets on 1 jig. Thanks again for the great videos.
Yes, of course. Once you understand how jigs work you can customize to your needs. We have several multiple jigs in the shared project library in my FB group.
Great video. Thanks. I didn't understand the comment about using a clean paint stirrer in the slot to keep the mat from flexing. Do you mean the hole at the top of the mat?
Hello! Thanks for this tutorial! Do you have template for the smaller blank bracelets and rings? I have the smaller ones and tried to resize but can’t get to the engraving since it wants me to use the fine point blade instead of engraving toolz
Hi Kay! I've been following your tutorial and using the template you made (Thankyou!!), but looks like perhaps a DS update is making it so it won't cut the jig out now. :( I'm not sure how to fix that so it will. Thank you for all your help!
I haven't experienced this yet, but I'd like to troubleshoot it with you. Can you please contact me via cleversomeday.com/contact and let me know which design space link you are using and what is happening? Thanks.
Do you thing this jig will work for the 9.54 mm x 152 mm ImpressArt bracelets if I adjust the size? I bought some of those and they are a bit smaller but I was wondering if this method would work
Is there a reason why the Foil Kraft Board setting seems to have a deeper result than the regular Stainless Steel engraving setting? This is a much better result than my Stainless Steel engravings :) so I'm just curious?
Hi Katie. Good question. The settings are a mystery, as Cricut has declined to publish the pressure numbers like they have for other tools. You would have to compare the settings with the same number of passes to be a valid test. The metal settings can't be used with this method anyway, and I am happy with the results and flexibility I get from the Foil Kraft Board setting. Please join me in using the feedback button to ask Cricut to provide the pressure data for all tools as they do the knife blade, fine point and deep point blades, if not the ability to create custom settings.
HI Kay, I think this is the most important video in engraving, I watched this video many times as I am trying to do everything you did but with round circle blank instead of bracelet, so creating all from the start, but there is one thing is still confusing me, in minute 4:18, when I look at the right panel, the word breath doesn't have éngraving', it only says [cut and print] but when you pressed make it, the left side shows [print, engrave, cut]. how did this magic happen :) ? Also do i need to flatten anything while I am designing the jig or the pattern on the circle? sorry I am trying to do it right from the beginning, don't want to mess it up. thanks heaps
The word breathe is the "Group" layer, so you can't see that it's set to engrave. The flattened set is the template the engraving is attached to. This video isn't really designed to show how to make your own jig. There are other resources for that listed in the video description and in my Facebook group as well as a lot of files already made and shared. There's also a newer method, which is a little easier ua-cam.com/video/Bi8DhrmgVcw/v-deo.html
sorry DS file sharing is glitchy sometimes. Try a different platform or browser, or try from my profile design-beta.cricut.com/landing/profile/57e33bb9d62a88ec3534649d
There is a DS glitch so none of the links will open from the desktop version. Hurry and open it in the old browser version before it goes away, or open in mobile, then save as private to your own account and work from there.
yes. there are templates for many other sizes linked in the templates list in the file section of my Cricut Engraving with CleverSomeday Facebook group
I'm not following you and will need to see screen shots. Please message me here or at cleversomeday.com/contact so I can send you an email address.Thanks.
I definitely gang my shapes onto a single jig when making them for myself, but a single shape per jig makes it simpler for beginners to center, so that's why I decided to teach it this way. Of course, adapt the technique to your workflow. Just be sure not to move the underlying shapes when centering your engraving design.
When I get to the engraving part, it is telling me that it does not recognize the fine point tool and will not let me go any further? I have the #41 in place
@@mrsaireez Only the operations selected affect the tool requested, not font or anything else in the design. Contact me at cleversomeday.com/contact if you need more help.
You are by far the most advanced cricut artist ive seen on YT. The possibilities using a jig are ENDLESS.

Have been scared to try engraving but now I've found you and with your great instructions, I'm going to give it a go. Thank you so much.
My mind is blown!! You did/explained this so well!! I did it all on the first try!
Thanks so much Kay for sharing this with us, you’re such a gift to the Cricut crafting world. ❤️
Thanks so much! I've been having a heck of a time lining up correctly and was almost ready to call it quits! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Great video and instructions. Not too fast nor too slow. thanks!!
Brilliant! Super video! Now for me to try this out and use up all those bracelet supplies I've been hording 😉
This is great info for all of us who love to engrave with our Cricuts!
Excellent video with clear, concise instructions. I can't wait to try this! Thank you!
Patiently waiting for my breathe bracelet to come out. Thanks so much for the amazing tutorial and templates.
I haven't engraved anything yet, but I've saved this information for later reference. Thank you for a great tutorial.
Thanks!!! I've been struggling with how to do this!! So many fails! Hoping this works!

I did get some to try (Now if I can just find them LOL). I think its possible, but trickier, of course.
Thank you for making this process so easy for a first time user.

Just received my Maker and am excited to try this! Thank you for the template!
Really nice idea
THANK YOU! FABULOUS VIDEO! 👍💕👍
Hi Kay, thanks for such a great video. Can you please tell me how to create a jig for the medium and smaller size Impressart bracelets?
Great video. Thanks. I didn't understand the comment about using a clean paint stirrer in the slot to keep the mat from flexing. Do you mean the hole at the top of the mat?
Ann Powell me either
The ruler tucks in the slot in the bottom door of the Maker and sticks out to support the mat from underneath.
Thank you so much for this awesome video!

Thanks for sharing. I’m wondering : could you also do this with Cricut Snapmat for iOS ?
Thank You
Thanks
Brilliant.
Ingenious!
Hi I just made jig but my bracelet is a little longer so doesn't snap into the jig is it supposed to? thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you so much

Yes and in fact we have jigs already made for many of the Impressart sizes in my FB group, including this one (3/8")
Wow several hours

Where do we find the file for the template

@@cleversomeday Thank you Kay so much for your reply!! really appreciate your time and efforts. Mariam
When I went to Save As, I didn't have the little box for Public to unclick. Is there another way to make sure it's set correctly?
DS has changed so that you can no longer save someone else's design as public, so its automatic now. Thanks for checking!
Hi can these be used with the explore 2
I have the same question.
Do you think it will engrave a pendant bar ?
depends on the thickness and the material
can not download the jig template just wants to install cricut design spac????
sorry DS file sharing is glitchy sometimes. Try a different platform or browser, or try from my profile design-beta.cricut.com/landing/profile/57e33bb9d62a88ec3534649d

Kay what are your custom settings for Mikes 110 cardstock. Thanks
250 pressure and 2 passes, fine point blade
@@cleversomeday Thank you sweetie.
I can't get the jig download to work. I hit make it and design space does nothing :(
Sorry to hear that. It is working for me and haven't had other reports yet so I would try again later or try mobile vs desktop or vice versa.
Do you have templetes for smaller size bracelets

Not sure if anyone tried, create a jig that holds a bracelet, ring, pendant and two earring blanks. Create a set all at once!

Hi, I tried to get the template but it keeps telling me it has been saved as private.
Known Design Space issue. Hoping to have a workaround soon.
CleverSomeday Awesome, thank you.
When I get to the engraving part, it is telling me that it does not recognize the fine point tool and will not let me go any further? I have the #41 in place
Be sure you set the design to engraving. After the engraving is done and it asks for the fine point blade, either cancel the cut or run empty.
@@cleversomeday yes it is set to engrave. I thought maybe I needed to choose a different font?

This is incredibly confusing 😳
why is it not letting me cut the actual bracelet shape?
To cut the shape, you need the jig file, not the template file.
It didn't pop up on mine, so what happened
what didn't pop up?
Mine didn't work it just kept saying detecting tool
Make sure you have the proper tool and that it can be detected on a simple project to be sure there is not a problem with your tool or machine.
The Maker 3 is too smart to fool. It will not allow you to do this. It'll say "incompatible tool detected".
Be sure you change the machine selection to Maker 3. And, as on Maker, material has to be set on Foil Kraft Board - Holographic.
