Still only around 50%, I have to agree that while going in I thought it is a subplot in the major cosmere verse but while reading it, the best thing was that the fact that a universe exist is finally being talked about WITHIN the stories. Up until now, it's something we know, but in this book that was kind of finally acknowledged. Feels like a tipping point in this universe which is really exciting
He did a video about it. But basicly lockdown gave him more time at home (no cons or other travel) and time + Brandon = writing. But yeah, still crazy amount of writing.
Sanderson did a reading of the first 5 chapters of this book and posted it online like a month or two ago so I knew what to expect but I just loved all the Cosmere references that we got in this book! And we got so much of *inserts narrator’s name* too, it was a real treat.
Finished yesterday night and I know this story will stay with me for a while - so interesting to see Sanderson writing a whimsical adult fairytale. Loved it and can't wait for the other ones !!

I didn't have a good time with this book. I liked the story and the world but I felt it was told in a way that it was written for kids 8-12 years old. If this was my intro into Sanderson books, I never would have picked up any of his other amazing books. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. I'm looking forward to his second book. Who knows what it will hold.

I would say yes. I wouldn't recommend it if you have started reading Mistborn and haven't finished the first trilogy yet. Otherwise it's a good entry point for Sanderson's Cosmere, in my opinion.
He is prolific in the same way as Taylor Swift, not only quantity but quantity and quality. Which is nice, cause it seems like there’s more quantity without the quality out there😂
I've watched two videos about this book and both have used the wrong title. It's not called Tress and the Emerald Sea. "And" and "of" are not the same word.
1&3 are completely new stories but take place in the Cosmere, a shared universe with many of his other books. 2 is 100% new and unlinked to anything. 4 is in the Cosmere and features a returning character in the main role, so it has the strongest link to previous books.

My first Sanderson book was "The Way of Kings" - and I was hooked. Very engrossing and not too overwhelming.
