This is pretty weird. I have not read a single one of his books but I have seen every video on youtube he is in. Such an interesting, well spoken man. Humble yet knowing his capabilities and sharing his wisdom and experience freely. Maybe I should start reading his books ...
His books are great! I just listened to the main Mistborn series on Audible a week ago and will listen to more. People told me that's the best place to start, so I did.
But it is sad to think how many quit everytime because of lazy thinking -'let´s write what is selling right now, not what will sell next year". Probably someone is being rejected right now because some idiot is sayiing "you should write as brandon sanderson"

Its great to see literally the best fantasy writer of our generation in such a human interview
Brandon is the coolest, most accessible writer. And absolutely a phenomenal storyteller.

Go read Mistborn The Final Empire or The Way Of Kings. You will not regret it.
@chaostronaut it's been a year, have you ready any of his books since?
Finally someone who hasnt been writing since he existed before he was born.
what a lovely wholesome man.
Taking his own advice, I volunteer to finish the Stormlight Archive, should the unthinkable happen (see 18:00)
Speaking as another Brandon if he ever wants to take a break I'll fill in.
I volunteer as the person who hands you tissues while we cry and you write
This man is a treasure in this world.
I'm so happy the years of rejection didn't lead to Brandon quitting or trying to emulate GRRM. The cosmere is amazing

I'm calling it now, (32:15-35:00) the idea that started it all!
"And then we give it to George--" I died
Thank you for recording this interview! Being in Australia I miss his press so I really appreciate seeing this. :)
If I ever get published I would love to be that vs. Brandon vs Brandon. lol
I want to visit the alternate universe where Brandon becomes a software engineer and suddenly the Cosmere is a video game universe.
I love Brandon, but I feel bad for this poor interviewer with her notebook with probably more than 5 questions in it xD
He does not do anything short does he :)
And taking forever to not answer the question she asks!
I love the idea of a "versus" novel!
I really like the interviewer's face, it feels like something I would draw from imagination.
Looks like a Tolkien character. Elf probably.
Sounds like a perfect life.

It is great that you have employees, Brandon.
I have not read any of his books yet, but this interview is really inspirational! Is there a good series of his I should start with?
Mistborn!
Sanderson vs Scalzi.
Is there any news on his TV show pitch for his anti hero show.
Not since the State of the Sanderson

Brandon's epic fantasy trumps all those grim dark fantasy titles so hard imo.
Each to their own we need all kinds but I agree. I find his work the best I have read for my tastes.
Well, he finishes them. That's a big plus.
No
No
