The facility that kept her were not allowed to administer any drug without a parent signature.This is bs. I hope that mother wins that lawsuit.

Poor judgement in how the school handled this! The mother should hAve been called. No drugs should have been administered if the parent wasn’t present or haven’t consented!

I think the cops did an amazing job with this little girl keeping her calm and not taking her out in tears and handcuffs. The baker act decision is beyond their control and within their job responsibilities.
In the state of Jacksonville an officer is not allowed to baker act a child without parents permission, and is also not allowed to baker act an adult without their permission.
The Baker Act makes abuse legal.
People's mental health will get better when we "get rid" of the so called mental health professional.
"Baker Acted" sounds like a popular expression in this part of the world.

Why the school didn't contact the mother first,how did anyone administer treatment to a minor without consent?????. Why was the child so calm after leaving the school????? Why was she given any drug if there where no symptoms by the time she reached the facility????? How did they make an assessment then treatment plan without the parent. How did they start treatment without a comprehensive assessment??????? A comprehensive assessment cannot be done in less than 12 hrs. If the child was calm why medicate??????

Fort Caroline elementary school did the same thing to my little brother when he was in 3rd grade. For copying another students paper on "how to kill yourself". Nothing happens to the student that actually wrote the paper. The school Didnt even call my mom or dad to tell them he was taken to MHRC. We found out when my dad went to pick my brother up from school and he wasnt there. My little brother stayed the night there. H
