And you definitely need the guitar to be strapped low for your strumming arm and at an angle for your fretting arm, or it'll never work out. And doggone it, they didn't play *"power chords,"* they were into barre chords that were only strummed downwards. Though I did hear of background guitars in the later album versions of songs, I haven't checked that out.

Your grandpa is a punk
This is my favorite video ever. I’m 60 years old. And if you watch this video is constant. It’s all live. Just one take, 1 camera angle. Genius
I remember this song and music video from way back in the 80s; it was great then and it still is!
Honestly, the perfect song to listen to when absolutely nothing happens no matter how much you want it to
20 years later, Joey is still alive in all of us!
Thank you Ramones, thank you Blink-182 for a whole new generation who is about to discover the greatest era of music
Noooo not with the wavves. 😭😭 Blink killed this video
literally just discovered this through blink 🔥
The power of music @@CjThe_ICEBURG
I fuckin like wavves bro
@@whylerplane5440I mean how did it ruin this song? Actually it just gave more attention to this song. I get it if you don't like Blink, but just saying it "ruined" this song is just wrong.
these are the kings of punk rock !
I love this type of music.
2 years later and I still believe they're the kings
I’m 14 listing to my first Ramone’s song made my dad proud
Ramones knew what they were doing when they wrote songs, short, great sound and easy to learn
But try to play guitar like Johnny!!!!!!!!
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Ramones
@@MassiveFish-hp4pm I'll check then out, how new are they? Try listen to the Cramps Human Fly Back in school my friend and i used to go to second hand record stores and listened to anting we had never heard before and discovered some crazy good music.
@@kt9166 could not begin to even come close
@@kt9166 It takes some time, but it's easy enough once you get it down (unless you're gonna go for 1977 - 1979 live speed.) It *does* take muscle, and that's easy to lose if you stop.
After Blink's new video for "Dance with Me," I knew I had to come back & watch this.
Crazy this video is still being parodied/referenced 35+ years later!
The Ramones were, are, and will be one of the best bands ever. If you don’t get, you never will. Used to work at a jazz club called the Tin Palace, which was 2 blocks away and would go there every few nights. RIP to all of them. They are so badly missed!
One of my fave songs since it came out originally. Yes, I'm that old. And it is still one of the best songs EVER!
Absolutely best band ever!!
This video was shot so well. You want to watch the band and there is so much chaos going around. This is an ultimate classic.
this video is literally what the world in 2020 looks like.
Ok

The Ramones predicted the future. Who knew?

Ramones & Blink!!! Perfect punk bands.
This is perfection - I should put this on auto-repeat all day on Nov 3
Classic rock is my medicine
this is definitely not classic rock
It’s classic punk lol
About 45 years ago I was riding my bicycle down Brimley Rd, Scarborough Ontario. I hit Oakridge and I saw an album in the street It was the Ramones. I decided then and there that I wanted to sniff some glue. I'm 58 years old now and I'm doing fine.
...
My brains would have dripped right outta my ears a long time ago if it wasn't for the glue i sniffed back then helping to hold it all together.
... Oh and the spray paint! Especially the spray paint! The sky is so much bluer now. And the ocean. And my beautiful blue eyes...
I love the Ramones because they pack all the energy of a 6 minute song into 2 minutes and change!
Today should be RAMONE'S DAY and celebrated with this song. After all the date is the opening lyric: 2020-20-4!
Or today!
(The 24th)

That's clever.
Such a shame we lost the whole band too soon Rest in peace Ramones
Many a time their words came to me, guiding me. "I wanna be sedated" was always a good one. Their advice on life ranges from babysitting, love and loss, the KKK, the carnival, to simply kicking back and chilling. Such wise men gone too soon from this world. We need them now.
So true 😢 the world is getting worse that's why we need them right now. I'm only 25 but I have great taste in music. I love you all 🤘

Pure Art! Ramones 4 ever!!!!!
Ramonrs were my first live concert, I was 12 with my older cousins and we rock hard... Outside... In a park.
It was epic for me😍❤️
I always listen to this the day before an exam.
"Twenty, Twenty, twenty, four hours to go... I wanna be sedated. Nothing to do no where to go. I wanna be sedated."
It's actually "no way to go home"
When MTV first started in Australia they would play this every week. I miss those days. What a classic

My dad always played this song, he loved the Ramones, I don't know if he saw them live, but I'm sure he did.
He knew every word, EVERY WORD! He'd sing this all the time, listening to it makes me miss him. I want to pass that same energy onto my baby boy when he gets older.
