4th gen for sure, it's one of the main reasons why I am a fan of Nmixx. I'd highly recommend looking into the live performances of the 3rd gen girl group "Mamamoo" who are just as good as Nmixx vocally and I'd argue is more well rounded in terms of all the members are incredible live vocalists.
@@MagnitudeReviews if we're being entirely specific, it isn't fair to compare the two due to the difference in members so we can't say which is better and which isn't, they're both amazing and shouldn't be compared or lowered for the other to shine, and should instead be mentioned together confidently as strong pillars of kpop vocals for female groups in general. there's no need to argue, because both sides could come up with reasons for why either is better, so accepting that both are amazing and jaw dropping and all the compliments known to man, is much easier than saying one is better than the other in anything.

It's their first _public_ performance without in-ears, yes, but we also have their "stage practice" videos where they sing along to a song's instrumental playing on a boombox in their dance studio room.
For those not familiar with K-pop: This is not a typical K-pop performance. Rarely are the songs rearranged, and presented in a vocal forward format. Also, either intentionally or unintentionally, this performance was recorded and released when K-pop was in the middle of a "should k-pop idols be able to sing live" debate. Korean entertainment companies are very calculating when it comes to promoting their groups, so for a company to agree to all the terms of a tiny desk performance, it really shows the confidence they have in their abilities. In short, don't expect many, if any, other groups to follow, which is a shame since there are plenty of good vocalists in K-pop.
@TaiFei true but tiny desk is the only one that has no post production. Both killing voice and it's live have a fair amount of post production pitch correction.
@@kaplowie666 You're right and it's absolutely crazy -- KV, LMJ Service, and It's Live all do significant editing in post even for talents who can actually sing (like Nmixx). I blame Korea itself and its society's demand for "perfection".
@@TaiFei "It's Live" has so much autotune it's very hard to discern real vocals. Listen to basically any Red Velvet performance on there. "Killing Voice" isn't as egregious but they do have a big issue with pitch correction as well. Tiny Desk has a VERY strict set of rules that include NO post production of ANY kind and using specialized mics that pick up near-100% pure vocals. So that's what's so different about this performance. It's the first full girl group to agree to follow all of their rules perfectly
Omg my girls on npr, to anybody who don’t know them you should still give it a listen they are some of the best vocalist I’ve ever come across through my time in listening to music. I'm from the USA and it's neat to be able to talk music with Canadians, Brits, Irish, Aussies, Kiwis, plus any number of ESL folks.
Plus you can't blame a Brit for wanting to speak up since many people assume English = American, which is a lie.
NPR 메인에 쌩라이브 영상이 올라올 수 있는 아이돌이라니..k-pop을 조용히 빛내주고 있는 우리 엔믹이들 참 자랑스럽다 ㅜㅜ
the girls are great, but the band?? they're so gooddddd
Frrrr! Nmixx was sooo good, but the band just gave that vibe and i absolutely loved it! Just seeing professionals working w each other!
FR
Yes!!!
Ikr. The song arrangements made by them were so good and complimented the girl's vocals so well
엔믹스는 더 떠야해
그건 맞는데 아이돌이랑 경쟁 하는건 짜증남 얘들은 정말 가수인데
I never clicked on something this fast.
Ah you type exactly what I was going to type 2025 is going to be explosive 🧨 this is fire 🔥
SO REAL
This was so good! I'm definitely checking them out 🙌🏾
Need focus on Nmixx cover friend they are amazing talented.
A performance so nice, they uploaded it twice 🥰
That's it! 👆
love the rhyme
Did you say Twice? 🍭
Maybe we can work our way there with an ITZY Desk Concert?
Was confused for a minute, I thought they have a new one. I just realized this is the main channel and not the korean one
This performance truly deserved to appear on the main NPR channel.
OMG, I was already in love with See That! But I wish they recorded the Tiny Desk and put them on Spotify because this version of See That! Is soooo crazy!!
Im so happy that a lot of non fans here in the comments are loving nmixx
deserved to be put on the main channel i hope many new people discover nmixx and their amazing vocals 🙂↕️
NMIXX girls break the stereotype of K-Pop girl group and shows the world they are so talented
As a Korean fan of NPR music and of nmixx, I am so proud of my girls being on the main channel😍 They deserve it!! Hope everyone enjoys their music
What I love about Tiny Desk Concerts is how you can hear raw amd pure vocals and imstumentals. This performance is brilliant!
They're the best kpop group vocally
4th gen for sure, it's one of the main reasons why I am a fan of Nmixx. I'd highly recommend looking into the live performances of the 3rd gen girl group "Mamamoo" who are just as good as Nmixx vocally and I'd argue is more well rounded in terms of all the members are incredible live vocalists.
@@MagnitudeReviewsHonestly they're the most vocally advanced gg of their time, especially when they come from a company like JYP
@@cranburrey JYP bad, NMIXX good.
And ONE of the best overall
A few minutes before watching to this video I was at the lowest point in my life. Lost my job, friends, gf and was broke homeless. Once this video was over I became a billionaire and now have a beautiful wife with three kids. Thank you NMIXX
Hope You have more lucky this year friend
Highly believable!
same! happens to me all the time!
That is indeed the power of NMIXX… thanks for sharing your story, fam! :P
The sax player popping off 😆
I would like to thank not only tiny desk korea for inviting Nmixx to the show. But to also giving thanks and appreciation to all the instrument band member to play in a way that makes me never know that nmixx music can be play like this. The arrangements is crazy awesome.
my first time listening to NMIXX and Im blown away
Nmixx Queens covers another artists too Haewon viva la vida deja vu ,duo con Lily suvivor, and more

이거볼때마다 엔써인게 너무자랑스럽다...
I don't know anything about NMIXX, but they're AMAZING vocalists. So talented
If you liked it, I recommend their EP Fe3o4:Break, one of the best they have released so far.
If You liked,I recommend cover fron Haewon, viva la vida, deja vu 3000, Haewon and Lily cover, suvivor, and all girls cover other people song, have a Nice day friend
i can't believe i haven't seen this performance before!! these funky jazzy renditions of their songs are amazing, and their vocals are also very impressive. im a casual NMIXX fan but this vid is gonna live rent free in my mind. def would love to see more kpop groups on tiny desk hehe
The jazzy vibe makes my Sunday morning so chilling!! This year I can't wait how the will be the top!
nmixx really deserves the praise they got for their vocals omg
I currently don’t know another group with the stability they all have and the ability they have to harmonize with each other, it’s amazing 💗
This is one of the best Tiny Desk’s I’ve ever seen! Incredible job by the singers and musicians.
Love the performance. A jazzy groove. Now the search for their music on the streaming services I subscribe to. Thanks Tiny Desk...
I was shocked this was posted to the main channel but also ecstatic! I’m so obsessed with NMIXX and they deserve all the praise
Lily's vocals 1:04 insane as always my main vocalist
praying that everyone finally know how good nmixx is
NMIXX is one of the only Korean groups I support, precisely BECAUSE they have the talent to pull off a legit Tiny Desk performance, which most pop groups regardless of country would never dare. So proud of our girls!
I hope reposting this performance on the main channel will help earn NMIXX more fans around the world.
If you are looking for more Korean artists who can give outstanding live performances, I'm sure you will find some that you enjoy on IU's Palette show. In addition, they take on the challenge to perform each other's songs in their own arrangement.
@@MinesAGuinnessto be fair soloists are on another level. Probably why he/she said 'groups'.
But yeah, the names on the top of my head that will do great in this setting are IU and Ailee.
@@srdeku Them, Mamamoo, Taeyeon, SHINee, EXO, and definitely BoA
@@cranburrey well, u r comparing mostly solo singers instead of group performance, and all the examples are 10YO+ of experience, while NMIXX just going to be 3 years this coming February...of course, these girls will be happy if they know they are deem same par with all those super seniors...really hope more ppl see this group, they are special in this new gen where visual overwhelm everything else
NMIXX songs must be seen and heard live. Vocal runs, multiple octaves, adlibs, harmonies...all done to perfection with incredibly difficult choreography, little to no vocal correction...and hand held mikes (Hyde Park 70K fans...thank you JYP).
The harmonies and the band are amazing.

I can’t believe this is only their first performance without in-ears! They sound amazing🤩
It's their first _public_ performance without in-ears, yes, but we also have their "stage practice" videos where they sing along to a song's instrumental playing on a boombox in their dance studio room.
@@Soufriere84and they also dance in the same time
아…엔믹스에 취해 그냥 라이브 하는 것도 아니고 에드리브까지…게다가 너무 여유로움
As a Nswer, Nmixx being appreicated even hy non-kpop fans is a really great start to this year for me. 2025 is Nmixx's year!!!
I have no idea what you're talking about. There are a lot of vocal-forward formats in Korea, such as "Killing Voice" and "it's live".
@TaiFei true but tiny desk is the only one that has no post production. Both killing voice and it's live have a fair amount of post production pitch correction.
@@TaiFei both are edited, tiny desk is the only one that's 100% live with special mics that pick up literally anything from the singer's mouth.
They’re amazing live singers and that’s what they’re very popular for so I’m glad they made it on the main npr channel I hope any new listeners enjoy Nmixx ahh
와... 미첬네... 여자 아이돌이 노래부르는거 듣고 멋지다고 소름 돋는건 처음이네;

NMIXX are such an incredible group..if you're not a fan you're missing out
This whole performance felt like sipping coffee on a Sunday morning 🥰
well said!
nice point, describes what i've been feeling perfectly
Deserve huhu my girls deserve more recognition 🥹I hope more people will recognize the talent of NMIXX
