Thankyou for teaching this. It was really helpful. I am an HR Person and I have to work on org charts quite frequently. Everytime my boss used to ask me to share the revised org chart - it used to give me jitters - until I saw your video and you solved all the problems. Never knew its that easy. Tthanks a ton :)

Great tutorial. I have struggled with shapes and connectors to create organization charts and I have always found them cumbersome. I did not know that it was so easy. A thousand more thanks for this.
my chart the writing was huge and the box was small and It was all not fitting in the box. The text kept changing to 52. it wasnot going the way you are showing. I dont know how to fix it.
I rarely ever comment and say thanks but this video has literally saved me hours and hours of research! Very concise and informative video. Thank you SOOOOO much!!!
This is an awesome tutorial. I have always associated org structure with power-point, not realising that it can be done so effortlessly in excel. It makes life so simple. Thanks a ton
This has big helped for me. One day before I had made a organization chart which was totally copied and pasted because of I don’t have a idea for making myself. Thanks a lot for shared very very important knowledge.
I cannot express how incredibly helpful this tutorial was for me. Thank you so very much. Whew! I was in a bind at work to produce an org chart, and, well you saved me.
Thank you so much for sharing on how to make organizational chart in Excel using SmartArt. This is very informative and useful in performing my work. More power. God bless you.
Hi, Geraldine. I'm sorry you're having such issues! Let's see if we can fix. On the text size - make sure you're only adding text / positions using the pullout box for the SmartArt. The text should resize itself as you continue adding positions. If you still need a different font size, select the SmartArt shape (the outside border of the entire SmartArt, not an individual box) and change the font size that way. If some of the boxes are still giving you difficulties, select that specific box and you can try: - Right-clicking and select Reset Shape. The text will likely look really tiny - increase the font size to what you need. - Select the shape and change the font size just for that box. To make the chart bigger, select the SmartArt shape (the entire SmartArt, not individual boxes) and drag diagonally to make it bigger again. You should avoid making changes to individual boxes as, once you do, it's difficult to line them all up again. As a last resort, you can click on Reset Graphic under the SmartArt menu, in the Design tab. Please let me know if you're still having issues. Thanks
Thank you! You made my day. I've been an Excel user for years and didn't know about this capability. I like your clear and precise presentation. Well Done!

If you want to start the org chart with names followed by their title and adding their phone number, do you just put all of that info in one cell or can you do this with multiple cells?
Hi, Kathya. It's probably easier to do it in 1 cell. If you're entering each in 1 cell and plan to copy and paste it to the Org Chart text pane, use the Alt+Enter shortcut to add a line break to the original text. If you've already made the org chart and need to do break up the name, title, ph# to different lines, use Shift+Enter inside the shape to do the line break. Just in case you currently have the data in separate columns, you can combine them and include a line break using =CHAR(10). For example, if you have each bit of data in a different column (Name, Title, Ph#), your formula to combine could look like: =A1&CHAR(10)&B1&CHAR(10)&C1 Please let me know if this helps or if you have more questions. Thanks
