He was the most knowledgeable scholar of his age, a master of Islamic sciences. He embraced both Sharia (Islamic Norms and Jurisprudence) and Haqiqah (Islamic Theosophy). He is a friend of Allah, founder of the Shadhili Tariqah which spread both to the east and west. Lovers of Allah visit his shrine in Humaithara, Egypt.
