Dartmouth started as a local, then a regional, then a national and now an international research and educational institution of the highest caliber. To deport international students and professors, or to deny them entry visas, would do great damage to Dartmouth's current and growing renown internationally. International Dartmouth persons were disproportionately hurt by the mid-March closing. Many were unable to travel back to their home countries or lacked suitable places to live off campus. They add to the diversity and greatness of Dartmouth and must be protected and cherished.
