Funfact. In the dead marshes when frodo falls into the water after seeing a dead elf, that is thranduil’s father oropher, he was slain in the advance into mordor in the FA. This is a reason why thranduil never wanted to sacrifice his people, when his father died so did most of his elven soldiers. It obviously had a impact on thranduil heavily.
Thranduil is waay older + he is a real elf, while Elrond is only half-elf + he have ruled elves more years + his kingdom is stronger. The only way that Elrond is better than Thranduil is maybe status, since Elrond is Eldar and Thranduil is Sindar, and among elves Eldar are more like... High-statused and considered better? Ancalagon is the peak of any and all dragons, but it wasn't Elrond who defeated him so we cannot give him that win. But yes you are correct, in terms of experience, Thranduil probably has more.
I don’t agree with experience because one Thranduil is older by a at least a thousand years if not more and he has also lived through and possibly thought more wars and battles than Lord Elrond.
We don't know many things about Thranduil and I am sure even Tolkien didn't make full story about Thranduil. Remember the elves without rings of power who are much stronger than 3 elven ring bearers. I can name several God-like-powerful elves Feanor, Fingolfin Glorfindel, Thingol, Luthien and so on. I mean elves especially high elves and the ones in throne already bear the elven magic and powers so does Thranduil. It was also mentioned in the book about Thranduil's magic cells. He was not fully explained about his powers. If we take into consideration that he is high Sindarin elf, king, can cast spell on doors and hide his scar, can sense invisible creatures then he definitely has powerful magic and feats. He is just not given enough credits to know more about him. I think he must have his own movie and directors need to create more than the book explained as there's no much info about Thranduil. But I see him as one of the most powerful elves in Middle Earth.
No. Elrond was the #2 guy on two separate war campaigns. He’s arguably the strongest being in Middle earth in the third age, a toss up between him and Galadriel. On top of that. He has NEVER had a territory that he has settled down in ever be over run with evil.
A friend of mine had an fanfic idea about Thranduil's title of being the 'Elvenking'. He said that it was Lord Elrond of Rivendell that crowned/coronated Thranduil after the death of Gil-Gallad the last Highking of the Elves. And was witnessed by Lord Cirdan and Durin IV of Khazad-dum. Isildur wasn't there since he left with the Ring of Power. Lord Elrond knew that Thranduil and Isildur were good friends. That is why he decided to convince the other Lords of giving Thranduil the title of 'Elvenking'. Leading to the 'Angmar Conspiracy' involving Thranduil's wife (possibly an Avari Elf) and the Witch King's burial that requires a 'Powerful Spell/Curse'.

Idk about that Elrond just didn’t have to face half as much trauma and tragedy as thraundiul nobody can really blame thraunduil for his actions after everything he’s been through he was really just looking out for his people
I guess this comparison is nice because it’s quite respectful to both. Like there’s no dramatic difference in the scores. Btw Thranduil is probably older and generally he was a really good king. But also Elrond’s father is like this super powerful, privileged guy and if I’m not mistaken there’s a Maiar in his family tree as well, so he had to get something after them, didn’t he? ;)
Sorry but Elrond is more powerful and has a far more prestigious status amongst the elves. He comes from the high elves. I love Thranduil but he’s not on the same level as Galadriel and Elrond
Thranduil would smack Elrond around. He fought in the War of Wrath against Balrogs, Dragons and Shades who he killed and was one of the few Survivors of the Sinking of Beleriand. Elrond is good but not THAT good
Nope Qwenia didn’t fight that war . The dragon that burn his face did it in the 3rd age. After fall of Beleriand . Thranduil never took place in such battle as Last Alliance fight. He was boosted by Peter Jackson movie but in the books they were isolated group of savages who rarely leaves Mirkwood .
@@olegtym7119 Mirkwood Elves are Sindar not Quenya. Sindar fought in the War and Thranduil lived and served in Doriath according to the books. He definitely fought in the War of Wrath
Elrond has a ring of power and he is a high elf of Noldor. Thranduil is a mid level elf of sindar. This is not a competition at all lol Elrond is leagues above Thranduil even thought they both faught together in the last Alliance against Sauron. Thranduil did destroy fire serpents of Morgoth hence the scars on his face to show the damage he inflicted against Morgoth and his fire serpents.
The only difference is that even though thrandruil is older he didnt experience the light of the eldar like elrond so he is less educated also if armies were involved elrond would crush him even harder because even though elrondight have less soldiers they are more skilled bieng that they werent hidden away from conflict mich lile the elves of mirkwood
Well, assuming that my favorite is Elrond, it is still undeniable that Thranduil is great. But Elerondo is still the best. Thranduil may be older and have more physical wounds but he doesn't have the trauma of being abandoned by all his parents, losing his twin and having his bloodline fall into darkness, as Elrond does. Also, my El is a great scholar, linguist, diplomat and tactician. He has learned to serve and to lead, to hurt and to heal. He is the best healer and an outstanding warrior. He had a Feanorian education and therefore was introduced to all disciplines. He would have swept away even without his blood Maiar and his ability to ally with, practically, everyone given his kinship. I admit though that Thranduil isn't doing badly either. Born in the First Era, he survived it all and kept the trust his people had placed in him. Unlike him, his father didn't let himself be influenced by the past so much as to lose the ability to see what was best for his kingdom than him (he wasn't in bad shape like Oropher, let's say). I always remain #Team Elrond!❤️😎👑🎉🔥
When your folks lived at the dawn of creation, soaking up magic god rays from the magic trees, and your dad is the fantasy equivalent of the silver surfer, and some of your relatives are literal angels and demigods…then yeah you have more Power over the forces of creation than some old forest elf.
I think Elrond wins simply because of his mair blood his father and grandmother were basically angelic and he has the 2nd most powerful ring of power behind the one ring 🤷♂️
Hey man love the video! Keep up the content, but one question that no one seems to answer no matter how hard I ask. What is that music playing during the short?
Elrond is a full elf - he literally chooses to be elf AND he has a Noldorin and Maiar heritage. He is basically the last great lord of the Elves on middle earth. Thranduil cannot win.
Personally I see Thranduil's hilariousness in the movies too easily. I prefer Hugo Weaving so much. I think Lee Pace is awesome and I love the two actors as elves, but Hugo is my forever actor #1 in LotR.
Thranduil is 6000 years old , he is older than elrond for a thousand years. Also thranduil is full elf while elrond is a half elf because of his father is a human . Also thranduil is more experienced than elrond in wars and battles since the second age and graet wars that he lost 2 of 3 size of his people ! In battles he guided before . So he is warrior, king , pure elf , older . Thranduil wins . Don't forget thranduil's speach ( i have fought the great serpents of the north for many many years ! )
I would give to Thranduil. He survived dragon fire, rhe strongest flames among mythical mortals but 2nd after both heavenly fire and demonic fire. He is closer in age to the Lady of Light herself, so while the Lord of Rivendell fought many great historical battles we know of, its likely the Lord of Mirkwood fought even greater enemies, auch as the generals of Morgath, the Balrogs. Dragons and Balrogs are the 3rd greatest foes among the armies once belong to Morgath and since Thranduil surived and fought both, makes him the better of the 2.
I think this is obviously due to humility. Elrond could just crown himself king like Thranduil, but he stays with the correct title, so he is honoured by the people in Rivendell and around it. He seems very mature and wise to do this, to me. The reasons for the elves' titles have to do with how they treat people.
Thranduil and the elves of Mirkwood/Greenwood held off another of Sauron's armies the entire time Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Merry, Pippin, Rohan, and Gondor were defending Minas Tirith. Do not underestimate Thranduil. If you think Legolas is a skilled fighter, remember who he learned that from.
Thraduil has more battle experience and is actually older than Thraduil. He is also more Durable given he was born an Elf while else Elrond was born half elf and chose being an elf later
People get caught up on this half elven thing. I’ll try and get this right. Elrond was majority elf. His mother Elwing was the daughter of Dior and an elf maiden named Nimloth . Dior is only half elven as his father is Beren. But his mother Lúthien is half elvish and half Maia. On the other side his father is earendil who is half elven himself being the son of idril princess of gondolin of the noldor and tuor son of huor. So Elrond has majority elvish ancestry. Just like Arwen his daughter who is his and celebrian, the daughter of Galadriel and celeborn,. As you can see half elven is fairly misleading lol.
Thranduil is quite a bit older than Elrond actually. He was born in Doriath before it fell.

Even if they are only considered, in reality there is literally no difference.
Unfair comparison. Elrond is superior by far.
Bro experience has to go to Thranduil. I know that Elronds father defeated Ancalagont he Black but Thranduil fought against the first kind of dragons.
But the first dragons were not as powerful as ancalagonalso thranduil is only sindar
Ancalagon is the peak of any and all dragons, but it wasn't Elrond who defeated him so we cannot give him that win. But yes you are correct, in terms of experience, Thranduil probably has more.
@@ArgonUA-cam As i said, it was Elronds father Eärendil. 😅
@@fursonia9502 I know, I was just reinforcing what you said as so it can't be attributed to Elrond in this Elrond vs Thranduil.

I don’t agree with experience because one Thranduil is older by a at least a thousand years if not more and he has also lived through and possibly thought more wars and battles than Lord Elrond.
Good edit thranduil literally fought dragons and survivied 💀
I remember that Thranduil is older than Elrond.
For me this is a draw🤔
Again just randomly given points.
I love them both ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thranduil is best
No. Elrond was the #2 guy on two separate war campaigns. He’s arguably the strongest being in Middle earth in the third age, a toss up between him and Galadriel.
On top of that. He has NEVER had a territory that he has settled down in ever be over run with evil.
On top of that, he is way older
Maedhros and Maglor would be proud.
Leading to the 'Angmar Conspiracy'
involving Thranduil's wife (possibly an Avari Elf) and the Witch King's burial that requires a 'Powerful Spell/Curse'.
bruh lord elrond is amazing
he like badass in the chillest way
Both. Both are good.
The guy who played Thranduil would be a perfect elven Sauron.
The two daddies >>>>
Elrond is as elf royalty as it comes!!! He'd beat crap outta any living elf in his age I'm pretty sure he's like great grandson to a myier or how ever gandalf's race is properly spelt

Thranduil ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍😍😍
Elrond was much more emotionally mature, which helped him a lot.
Idk about that Elrond just didn’t have to face half as much trauma and tragedy as thraundiul nobody can really blame thraunduil for his actions after everything he’s been through he was really just looking out for his people
FOR ME IS THRANDUIL EVEN IF I LIKE ELROND TOO I WILL ALWAYS PREFER THRANDUIL
Thranduil 🥰
Older doesn't have to mean wiser or more experiensed.
I guess this comparison is nice because it’s quite respectful to both. Like there’s no dramatic difference in the scores.
Btw Thranduil is probably older and generally he was a really good king. But also Elrond’s father is like this super powerful, privileged guy and if I’m not mistaken there’s a Maiar in his family tree as well, so he had to get something after them, didn’t he? ;)
Yes his mother is Elwing daughter of Dior who's the son of Luthién the daughter of the Maia Melina

Guys what are we talking about elrond has one of the strongest rings of power at his disposal as he can summon eaves and heal people
I like wood elfs the most
I feel Elrond is more of a commander that would try to save everyone while thrandruil is the psychopath that would disregard everyone but his own men
More like the psychopath full stop.
Sorry but Elrond is more powerful and has a far more prestigious status amongst the elves. He comes from the high elves. I love Thranduil but he’s not on the same level as Galadriel and Elrond
Thranduil💪😎
"Mr. Anderson..."
-Elrond
The only difference is that even though thrandruil is older he didnt experience the light of the eldar like elrond so he is less educated also if armies were involved elrond would crush him even harder because even though elrondight have less soldiers they are more skilled bieng that they werent hidden away from conflict mich lile the elves of mirkwood
Weren't the elves of mirkwood involved din most of the major battles against Sauron on top of battling with the orcs of Dol Guldur?
From a movie fan point i get it but from a book one ...
It depends on which Elrond cause the one from rings of power can’t do anything right
Elrond is a Noldorin Elf.
As far as sheer beauty, Thranduil!
Thranduil wins in endurance and durability: that freaking bad-ass diva survived dragon fire 🤩😍
Thranduil is cool and all, but Ill follow Elrond to the ends of the earth
Elrond soled all 9 of the Nazgûl at once, potency, attack, and attack speed go to him
Red Skull vs Ronan The Accuser
The first king of Númenor was Lord Elrond's twin brother and Aragon many times great grandfather
I always remain #Team Elrond!❤️😎👑🎉🔥
how dose Elrond have more knowledge than him ?
When your folks lived at the dawn of creation, soaking up magic god rays from the magic trees, and your dad is the fantasy equivalent of the silver surfer, and some of your relatives are literal angels and demigods…then yeah you have more Power over the forces of creation than some old forest elf.
I think Elrond wins simply because of his mair blood his father and grandmother were basically angelic and he has the 2nd most powerful ring of power behind the one ring 🤷♂️
Hey man love the video! Keep up the content, but one question that no one seems to answer no matter how hard I ask.

@@lotrenjoyer4672 no problem. Thank you for answering my question.
thranduil is older and has more experience actually but you also didn’t specify what kind of experience so…
Beautiful-thranduil
Elrond is half elf and Noldor, Thranduil is a full Elf aristocrat from Silvan elves.
Elrond is a full elf - he literally chooses to be elf AND he has a Noldorin and Maiar heritage. He is basically the last great lord of the Elves on middle earth. Thranduil cannot win.
The guys is turgons great grandson on one side and thingol’s on the other. Dude is a total badass. Then you throw in tuor and Beren.
Don't forget thranduil's speach ( i have fought the great serpents of the north for many many years ! )
Earendil isn’t human, he’s half elvish. He’s turgons grandson.
Noldor and sindar royalty> Sindar nobility. I’ll leave it at that.
Elrond is pretty OP tbh now that I think about ìt
I love all these comments for Thranduil yaaay 😍😍😍
Love it 🙂👍
Elrond was a Lord but Thranduil was a King ☕️ Much Older too , more battle and more more thing ☕️
I think this is obviously due to humility. Elrond could just crown himself king like Thranduil, but he stays with the correct title, so he is honoured by the people in Rivendell and around it. He seems very mature and wise to do this, to me. The reasons for the elves' titles have to do with how they treat people.
Элронд рассказывает Трандуилу, что тот в Матрице.... И все, и добрый вечер.
Elrond > thranduil and it's even not close
Thraduil has more battle experience and is actually older than Thraduil. He is also more Durable given he was born an Elf while else Elrond was born half elf and chose being an elf later
Thranduil is only a few hundred years older and Elrond wasn't born a half elf
@@danielunderwood3198 Exactly his title may be half elf but that's just wrong
