Japanese team is like a diesel engine. They start slow. But when they warm up, nothing can stop them. On a side note, I hated the way that announcer butchered the pronunciation of the Japanese player's names. In particular Yamamoto ( やまもと ). The announcer kept on accenting it on the 3rd syllable, but there should be NO accent.

They are not going to put their best team in the Asia cup, most are playing wnba at the moment and we save them for the world cup and Olympics. This is always the dilema for any national team that has players in a pro league for any sport. The womens soccer team has same thing to manage, as do other nations. Its about load management and ensuring they get at least one full off-season every 2 years, otherwise there are injuries and performance declines. These types of tournaments as well as things like Commonwelath Games, are used to develop younger players and give them exposure to international competition.
