We were a little delayed in filming this week, but co-main event will be with you shortly 🏴☠️
We love you man I cant explain how much you help all of us love mma even more everyday. Have a good day Dan!
Are you doing the podcast picks this week?
Do you still do breakdowns for BT Sports?
Two imposing fighters who most resemble video game characters.
I wrote the same thing under some other video. Their appearance, lore, background, their 'powers'... straight out of Street Fighter or Tekken or something...
No they don't.
@@tonymaccaroni5744 they do too! Na na na na na lol
@@spurezurko I would say they resemble real fighters na na na
Kenshi vs Nightwolf
FIFA has banned Awakenbeerus's Instagram account because he accurately predicted every match outcome in 2023. Now it seems like he's moving on to NBA, NFL, and UFC.
Whole MMA çommunity loves both. It's a 50-50 fight
I really dislike jiri and would love to see him get ko'd my man
Totally agree.
Love this fight because it should be amazing, hate this fight because i really like both of them
@mani-mt8wb You don't speak for the whole MMA community bud
@@blazzz13 ok dud
Jiri has 25KOs out of 29 wins, yet in all those breakdowns I only see people really talk about Pereiras KO punch power. Guys, wth, this dude put 25 opponents out cold on their feet, if u want to talk about KO power, Jiri is the dude
Yep 😂 also they say, that Alex needs to push Jiri forward, can't leave him space....yeah, let's see how well that goes against Jiri
I was thinking the same, so much underestimating of Jiri in a lot of these breakdowns I see. Jiri does not fight in a slow tit for tat kickboxing match style like Alex, he’s coming at you hard and fast from the start.
Jiri did not knock out cold 25 fighters….. Those are KO’s and TKO’s just like every other fighters KO count includes. Yes he’s knocked guys cold but there are just as many TKO’s in there as straight KO knockouts. This is a 50/50 fight. So much Glazing on both sides. Pereira’s got 70 career combat fights 55 wins and 47 KO’s/TKO’s so twice the sample size. This is way TOO CLOSE to say one is Just much more than the other. Jiri has amazing exciting finishes and definitely a ton of one shot KO’s but if you watch Pereira’s KO highlights in kickboxing, the difference is he is one shot KOing w/ no follow up needed in 18 Oz KICKBOXING gloves, not 4 oz MMA gloves. Their power is comparable but in this fight all the other factors besides power will play a huge role in what happens. Totally love both these warriors, 2 favorite fighters and both sides are obviously very concerned. May the best amazing fighter win!
@@mikemosley2948nThank you, sir! I was about tô explain that in the same way
@@jumptriassi your welcome buddy, should be an awesome fight but the glazing both ways is ridiculous. You can tell both sides are concerned by the amount of crap talking that’s happening to boost both fighters. I just hope it goes at least 3 rounds and is a banger! Absolutely love both these respectful, humble and Elitely skilled warriors. Enjoy the fight!
love how dan goes into his own deep dive regarding the fight styles and stances, great stuff 👌
Jiris groundgame is light years ahead of Periera. In his interviews he eluded to having done lots of work on ground game since his injury
Pereira has been training with Glover for many years plus i dont see jiri being succesful with wrestling alex is a big guy who is explosive hard to take guys like him down
LOL He doesn't train for shit. He spent a year and a half recovering from surgery.
Wasn’t an issue Vs Periera and Periera is also the heavier fighter. That shoulder will be tested for a Jiri on knockdownsz
@@javierlandaverde4108 well alex won so who cares
Who needs ground game when you can’t make it that far
Can't wait for this fight. Two absolutely compelling individuals and martial artists. Dan i love your breakdowns, i consider you the most eloquent analyst in the sport.
The heavier divisions might not have the most skilled competitors you'll see in MMA, but that main and co main combo promises to deliver on entertainment. Add in fights like Steamrolla vs BSD, plus Lopes on the card. This has potential to be one of the more memorable MSG cards
Honestly with guys like Aspinall, Pav, Gane and Jones heavyweight is the best it has looked in a whiiile. Plus other certified bangers like Tuivasa and (last fight aside) Lewis
they are pretty skilled imo, jiri, pereira, jones,
@@sparsh2955Jiri and Alex aren't very skilled
@@cognito8325they are extremely skilled. You don't get their accolades by luck or just brute strength
the prelims are bullshit.
If you follow the Prochazka - Teixeira fight through the rounds, Jiri is too fast for Glover in the earlier rounds and punishes him hard on the feet with his weird angles, but his style also taxes quite a lot on cardio. So in the later rounds (4 and 5) is actually Glover the one that outlands Jiri by quite a lot, and himself (Glover) is the one that makes the mistake of taking the fight to the ground.
If the Pereira fight goes the same way and Alex manages to stay safe in the earlier rounds, I can see his more technical striking and his pressure being effective against a tired Prochazka. Pereira knocked Adesanya down in the last round, which proves he manages his cardio very well. He could very well pressure Jiri against the cage and when he's trapped and his defence is down (which happened a lot in the 5th against Teixeira) Alex could land a couple of straight shots that open the path for his left hook.
My thoughts exactly :) But Jiri also said his fight with Glover is how he does not want to fight in the future so I guess he will learn from this and manage his gas tank more effectively against Alex
That’s a nice take
„against tired Prochazka”... :D I watch Prochazka for about 10 years now, since he started MMA after muay thai. His defense is often down because he loves it, he encourages opponents to hit him. But we are talking about a man, who gets sparring for many rounds with a brand new opponent for each round. Ok, that is kinda usual. However... he _holds his breath in between the rounds_ (!) just because he "wants to be in an uncomfortable position, push his limits, and learn to manage his breath in the perfect symbiosis with the universe".. or something like that. And that info is not by some weirdo, but from the head referee in a top European MMA organization who is close to Jiri.
The guy's not like a character from a 90s karate movie, he is literally living it. I have a strong suspicion he will try to fight completely blinded one day.
Glover outlanded him 3/5
Man this is just my thought 😂
This video feels incredibly short for such an epic matchup. I would watch a whole hour of Dan's tangents on this fight
He would just be repeating himself 🤔
@@FredBerger11.11 It's pretty insulting to suggest Dan couldn't talk about fighting for an hour without repeating himself. He has more knowledge and experience than almost anyone who makes this kind of content.
I've mentioned this recently, but watch how Jiri attempts to finish opponents and think about this Musashi quote:
"The sure way to win is thus, to chase the enemy around in a confusing manner, causing him to leap aside."
You just know this fight is going to deliver. Different styles but it's got Matt Hughes/Carlos Newton vibes with Glover being Jiri's last fight.
Well said
what was hughes or newton previous fight to match glover match (vs!jiri)
Hughes and Newton were nothing like these 2.. Hughes a wrestler, Newton was a submissions guy mostly..nothing alike?!
@@garethmorgan8753he’s not talking about fighting styles. Matt Hughes trained under Pat Miletich who had just lost the championship to Newton. Then Matt beat Newton to avenge Miletich’s loss and win the title.
@zbell7003 ahhhh makes sense, just read it incorrectly, yes, it's pretty cool in that respect .. 👊
6 min in and your talking about alex a 2 weight glory kickboxing champ taking down jiri? Why would alex even need to resort to that why would alex and takedown even be said
This channel deserves more notoriety man 🤦♂
Great analysis as always, it’s a shame we don’t get to hear your commentary in the UFC!

What happened to him being removed from the desk
Great analysis bud... keep up the good work

Dan Hardy, I know ur a fighter at heart. And you are an amazing brain when it comes to MMA. I wanna ask you to please not take a fight, no matter how much it’s burning inside of you. You don’t need it. The money for a win or the money for a loss doesn’t make good sense. You don’t need to prove anything to us or yourself. You are as badass as a fighter can be. Keep doing what ur doing. There’s nothing better than “The War Room”
You're the man mate. I have been waiting for this breakdown. Thank you my man.
Good Job my guy.... Your under rated.,. Definitely in my top 3 of the top 5
🤜🏾🤛🏼
Great breakdown as always. Thanks.
I have a feeling that pereira will apply pressure and try to cut range but we remember the Reyes fight and I think Prohazka, as much as he is a striker he does the mma homeweork pretty well and he might be ready for being backed to the cage, clinch and takedown from there. Remember - Prohazka's wrestling and bjj will be way better than Pereira's, not as it was with Glover. Jiri's conditioning seems to be better and he keeps evolving a lot as a fighter. That's a very tricky and action packed match up, I really can't wait to see it!
The best breakdowns in the game! 🔥
Why isn't most people commenting on the fact that Alex starts slow and Jiri at a 110% pace. This could be very well the main issue, IMHO, if Jiri starts as any other fight he has done recently, then it's either him knocking out Alex until on rds 1 or 2 or it's a win for Alex.
It's all about surviving the chaos and I fear Alex is going to try to pace himself for 5 rounds which might not come.
But Alex is even more dangerous in the beginning of the Fight, because his family is fully replenished. He is usually very fast and well aware but he just uses it to stalk his opponent and look for their weaknesses. The most dangerous thing to do is to come out fast against Poatan that's why Jan went in with a Double leg early in the first round. He felt that quick reaction time.
💯%
@@Tasunka_Nightwolf How is Alex going to stalk an opponent moving and darting all over the place throwing random shots from awkward angles constantly pressuring him?
@@dude9038 Alex is good at disrupting his opponent rhythm.
@@Tasunka_Nightwolf He hasn't fought anyone who moves like Jiri. Maybe Alex prove me wrong in the fight but i can only see Jiri outmanouvering Alex and TKO'ing him
I REALLY look forward to the live stream!
Jiri is going to eat a left hook I feel like. That bladed stance might get him hurt. I can’t wait for this one!
It’s just he moves tooo fast to get into a pocket and that left hood connected clean. Big mistake from Jiri.
Was literally asking myself yesterday that when the heck is Dan hardy dropping a breakdown. Now we can feast, hope he also does Tom vs sergei
I’m sure he will asap, the guy clearly loves doing it

I was laughing how a few moments later you're back, because I could tell you hadn't managed to resolve this all in your head when you ended the first time. Good stuff mate.
This was the fight I’ve been hoping for, two 21st century warriors at the top of the game going at it and thinking how Dan Hardy’s breakdown would go
Hey Dan great breakdown as always! I hope you do Sergei Pavlovich vs Tom Aspinall it is hard to wrap your head around that fight.
I don't think he will. He usually uploads them a week before fights
He did brother@@cognito8325
I can tell you right now... Alex is not taking anyone down. Jiri will take Alex down if anyone is taking someone down. That being said, Alex ground defense is what will get him the win or the loss
Yeah when he started off with “takedowns will be there” I was like nahhhhh 😂
Dan is hugely underestimating Jiri.. In fact most mma fans are. I find this odd, they just think a guy in MMA with his hands down means he will automatically get knocked out. MMA doesn't work that way, even fighters with their hands up get hit often through the guard. I mean, for christ's sake it's not boxing. Jiri is so chaotic and tough, i think it's a nightmare matchup for Alex. And the takedown nonsense.... sometimes Dan comes out with some stinkers
@@dude9038 Perreira seems to have alot of fanboys who frankly don't think logically- in my view similar to Jones fanboys. Honestly as for Dan, sometimes his assessment is on point but sometimes he comes up with nonsense.
@@blazzz13a lot of fan boys who don’t think logically 🗿🗿🗿🗿
I love how Dan ponders the many possibilities that can happen in a fight!

Hello Dan. Thanks for the video
Is there a podcast this week ? Thanks ahead for the info ✌🏻
Amazing content!!!
That last segment is timeless… maybe try some dramatic lighting or black and white in these videos it would be awesome
Looking forward to those livestreams, mate. Fightnight 'watch-alongs' like what Jens Pulver does would be a winner, I'm sure.
I got Jiri in this one, Pereira gets hit and hasn't been tested with this much power coming his way.
I keep going back and forward. On one hand Jiri is the better martial artist and is awkward enough to give anybody problems, and he's guaranteed to finish pretty much any fight he wins. But on the other hand, Alex is just not a fighter you can get away with making too many mistakes against, and Jiri makes a lot of mistakes. Alex doesn't have the best defense, but neither does Jiri tbh. I dunno who I'm picking lol
Jan doesn’t have power??
Jiri gets hit a lot too, watch him vs Glover and reyes
@@poofbah431 Look at the resume. Jan's power has been overrated since the Rockhold KO. Jiri has 25/29 wins via KO. Jan is not on Jiri's level
@@jofla Of course he does, thats part of his style. Glover fight he was getting hit, but winning the exchanges, and the reyes fight which i rewatched today he doesn't get hit nearly as much as people make it out to be.
Love the post-credits scene
FINALLY , been waiting all weeek
Alex's chin is gone from years of fighting and hard sparring. You can see it in the recent times he was dropped in both Izzy fights. Some of that weakness might have been due to his weight cut to 185, but we didn't see a faded Jan in any great danger at 205 and he opted to lay and pray.
Yeah but Alex has only been KO’d cold one time in his whole career and he was drained to the gills and that fight was at elevation
That’s just false lmao
Alex was not dropped in both Izzy ufc fights casual , You obviously didn’t even watch the fights. He was stunned the end of round 1 when 1 off 2 strikes hit him after the bell rang and he did not go down. He stumbled and caught himself then came back and won round 2 then broke Assbender’s legs and tko’d him. The one KO Assbender got, he showed up with a PED titty big as Ohio and Alex cut 42 lbs for that fight and he just caught Alex being too aggressive cuz he was fucking Izzy up and breaking his legs. Stop listening to fanboys and watch the actual fights.
If the Jiri that fought Reyes shows up, the pressure will be on Alex. I look forward to this warrior showdown 🙏
You a legend l was thinking the same thing with Jiri he is very unpredictable but Alex is built differently after that fight with Ade lazzy
The fact that Glover is Pereira’s coach has to be a huge advantage. He knows more about Jiri than any fighter because he’s had more rounds with him than anyone. Big fan of both guys, but I don’t see Jiri being evasive enough to avoid Pereira’s big shots. 3rd or 4th round TKO, but I don’t think this fight ends super early.
It will be a fun fight 😁 🔥
Jiri has the most relentless pressure and pace I’ve ever seen from a big fuh
Wassup Dan, first congrats on your better half's win last week, second, Jiri has a tell in his striking defence that was quite visible in rd4 & rd5 of the Texeira fight, thought you might have seen it
Who did the branding for the channel?

People! I have no investment in this channel or Dan Hardy cmon y'all!
My most anticipated fight of 2023
Glover landed the left hook several times in their fight. I gotta think Alex can do the same only his is more likely to shut the lights out.
Lol, Dan just nailed Poatan destroying that leg off rip. I low key think if the fight would have gone on longer Jiri may not have been able to continue because of the leg.
Embedded is cool but FYI...
WE wait for THIS! 👏👏🙏
What an incredible fight this is!
Hope Tom vs Sergei analysis is coming 🤞🏻
I definitely feel the same about just being eager to see how these two match up. I disagree on leg kicks, if i watched the Reyes fight as Pereiras team Jiri was countering calf kicks with his right cross exertly, its his best strike. Pereira has a habit of getting caught w right hands like in the first mma fight w izzy.
Exactly, Alex is open for straight counters, and Alex mainly throws hooks, thats why he's always patiently but assuredly tryingt o work his way into range with leg kicks, to get close enough in the pocket to land his preferred power punches, hooks. I think Jiri will finish Alex in the first round
Lol Jiri didn’t counter a single leg kick, Alex is different we tried telling you.
My question is, if no one shuts the lights out early, will Jiri's mma pace be too overwhelming? The mix ups and grappling, it might be too much for Poatans mma processor. The mix ups are great by Jiri, but the pace he does it at is lunacy
Awesome 👌
Thanks for the videos Dan, great takes - looking forward to see Jiri fight again
I agree that this could very well be decided by the person establishing pressure, especially since both of them use this approach heavily.
My feeling is that Jiri's kind of pressure might not be easily applied against Alex but we'll see.
Also, a great idea to put in the interview style back and forth between you and Jamie at the end there.
Do you think that Jiri developing as a fighter in Rizin (which has a different rule set, uses a ring...etc) plays any role in how he fights? This is only his fourth fight in the UFC, where as has had just as as many fights with 10 minute first rounds (I think he has had a total of 11 fights in Rizin).
Only the ten minutes round made him learn how to breathe correctly, that's why his cardio is so good. Also the change from cage is good for him, so nobody can put their heads out of the cage, when Jiri is going for them.. like one american wrestler Brandon Halsey, when they fought in Rizin.
I think this is a 5round war.
May the best man win.
would love to see you have a chat with jiri on here, could be very interesting
gotdamn this just got me so hype
'catch em with the ridge hand, just somethin to think on' 😂
livestream sounds good Dan !
What a fight
Dan are you gonna make one for Pavlovich vs Aspinall?
I think you're wrong about Alex being the bigger more powerful guy here. Same height and reach, however I believe you will see Jirri as the bigger man. And powerful vs 185ers but he couldn't take out a completely winded 40 year old Jan. i kinda felt the striking was pretty even to tell you the truth, it's just that Jan looked so damn tired it was hard to give him the last 2 rounds. Also I'm not feeling much of a takedown game from Alex. Naah he's nowhere even close to Tex's abilities there. Also if Alex gets hurt, he's finished. Jiri is known to survive and if Alex follows him to the ground? Also Alex just doesn't have the same experience getting on top and doing damage.
HOWEVER...... maybe Alex was a bit gun shy last fight because he was KOd cold fight previous. Jiri is bigger and more powerful.
I'm predicting Jiri sleeps him with strikes from above.
Jiri doesn't cut a lot of weight, Pereira against Jan was significantly heavier than Jiri vs Glover. They are quite equal in height and reach, but Pereira will for sure cut more weight and be heavier on fight night.
He also has one punch KOd guys at light heavy weight in kickboxing, with big gloves on, so he definitely has power to knock out LHWs.
Jiri gonna brutalized Alex & the true champion about to reign 👊
One of the most hittable guy Vs guy with one of the cleanest striking.
Could prediction be any easier?
Why no 295 podcast ? Love the breakdowns you guys make !
To me standing or if Juri takes the fight to the ground, I believe he's going to do great either way but if he wants to make easy work for the win he has to take him down and keep there for the finish or to make him work to spend more energy than what he wants to and that will make it somewhat easier for Jiri in the standup and Jiri he fights very tricky which is fine but he can't expose himself too much in the standup because Pereira has shown many times in the past that he's great at taking advantage when the openings presents itself and a lot of time he gets the ko or the tko. This is going to tough match up for Pereira because Juri got great cardio and will to go with his overall ability.
I think Pereira will be able to get up if Jiri takes him down. Pereira way too strong and getting better on the ground.
@@04mzwachfax
Dan you great
Jiri in the first 2 rounds!
I think ppl forget the trajectory yiri was on He is not gonna stand there in front of Alex however the leg kicks are the key for him to take out yiri
I see this being an early finish for Alex. If jiri can eat his power he can win but he’s too hittable for Alex and his game. Leg kicks are there and Jiri relies on his chin too much for the power and precision Alex has. I’m a fan of both tho, intriguing match up if Jairo’s chin can hold up.
Y'all are acting like Alex has crazy power lmfao
@@tvojemanka he doesn’t hit as hard as Dominick cruz but he has some string to his power🤓 We can’t act like his precision won’t be an issue for jiri either

3:55 Pereira himself has thrown Crosses into Backhands against Bruno Silva.
Though I get what you’re saying, Alex is not so fundamental that he should end up lost because of a lack of orthodoxy from Jiri.
Jiri's best punch is his lead straight right. Alex best punch is his left hook. Straight beats looping 👀🤐
It is a very nice breakdown, but should've been longer, there is so much to be discussed and showed, Hady did not show any footage of them..
Wouldn't mind more appearances from Jamie. A bit of a back and forth might suit the show
Very interesting how you think Alex has the option to take him down. In my mind if anyone will initiate a grappling sequence it would be Jiri
you wanna know what you should do a dark room on , Bobby green vs dan hooker
reminds me of blood sport all over again Let's Go
Where can we get those beanies Dan?
I feel like prochaska should have waited a lil longer on that shoulder let’s see if this prediction is correct I hope not
If Pereira learned anything from Glover, it's that Jiri can reverse and submit him on the ground. No way Pereira attempts a takedown. If Pereira ends up losing on the feet, he will just start to look for the big counter shot.
The only reason jiri got the sub is glovers age.
He was getting mauled on the ground
