Bindjaman I know they're cool but seriously, they should have just been in the game from release if they're going to released as DLC so early on is greedy.
Flavius Belisarius is one of those exceptional generals history has to offer us. In the period prior to gunpowder, he's on top with generals such as Alexander the Great, Hannibal Barca, Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus, Gaius Julius Caesar, Khalid Ibn al-Walid, Subutai and David IV of Georgia. I will rank him higer than generals such as: Pyrrhus of Epirus, Gaius Marius, Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix, Quintus Sertorius, Narses, Richard I of England and Edward the Black Prince.
Are you serious? This is the Hannibal at the Gates map. You guys are brave, first you launch a campaign on a pimped grand campaign map, now you release a dlc with a pimped HatG map, happy it's coming though... Also, first comment ;)
***** Oh, good point, missed France... Quickest answer I ever got from a game developer though...I still think you used HatG as a basis though, most of France, as well as Dalmatia and more Southern Africa was already there, just without regions...
TheRaven1702 yes you're right and I would like to add that the world map can't really change considering it's on earth and usually the same locations. "pimped grand campaign map" ... well earth is earth.
lithen00 They already got Napoleon and Empire so i doubt it. They also said they're not gonna re visit a certain period in history 3 times any time soon. So i don't think so.
lithen00 Victorian era 1837-1901. Napoleon was close enough i think. But if they do make it.. I don't know much about Victorian era in Europe. Were there many big wars?
I was waiting for this. Insta-buy by me since Belisarius was my favorite Roman general of all times. However I must admit that I was expecting a larger map since Belisarius did fight also on the Persian front against the Sassanid. You should have included also the Eastern mediterranean. Good DLC in any case. Betraying the Emperor??? NEVER!! I shall stay faithful to Justinian!
Well hopefully there will be lots of cities and such when you focus on a certain area of the map, you guys usually do that so I should not worry. I hope we see some unique units also! I eagerly await.
Thank you for sharing Simpson's thoughts about the trajectory of TW since its origin. Very interesting and appealing when someone shares his life experience, even if just related to " videogames ".
***** I dont think so man. It wouldnt be hard for CA to show it from neutral point, or a bit pro Muslim point. As a Christian I wouldnt have problem with words like "I live only for Allah" when you click at general on the campaign map. Or if they at least make Arab Culture pack. Hope you re reading it CA.
Artur G when it comes to islam, it would suit more the Medieval era, and the ottoman era, early islamic period was very successful for muslims, but it would make a boring total war, muslims just pushed ERE to anatolia and driven the visigoth off spain , and defeated sassanid in the east, ...but it was like one muslim Caliphate, ...it's more intresting when there is muslim factions to play with... Joe as a Sand man i wouldn't really care if they put a total war based on rise of islam, it's all about history and fun playing total war games, so yeah, and btw my favorit faction is france, i love their units, and i crushed many muslim factions with it in medieval and empire, same as i love to play with the hattori and takeda clans in shogun or Carthage in Rome...i just love total war, and historical accuracy is what makes the game great in my opinion, i remain skeptical about Total warhammer, but that's off topic.
Have you guys thought about making a Medieval 3, Alexander 2 remake or something like that? That'd be cool! I havent played Attila yet but I hope this new campaign is good!
GLORY TO ROME! Really excited for this! Attila is my favourite Total War game thus far and I hope even more love comes to Attila before Warhammer takes over :-).
I've been waiting for this for a very long time. I have modded the game to make this happen, making up to 6 different roman factions and even roman horde factions simulating Germanic Roman rebels looking for loot and slaughter.
One thing I really miss about the total war series is frequent detailed reports that affect the game while also teaching history. With more of that I feel like future total war titles will be more solid games.
I love that you guys are covering this period, because it is a fascinating period in history. That said, I don't like that you're selling Justinian and Belisarius as "The Last Romans". Just because the Empire continued to change over the centuries, doesn't make it any less Roman. I've never liked that people continue to use the historical anachronistic term Byzantine Empire. It, and it's people, never stopped being Roman.
To everyone waiting for Total War: Warhammer, have you seen these new screenshots and interviews about the game yet? www.pcgamer.com/total-war-warhammer-screenshots-show-giants-trolls-a-proud-griffon/
YEEESSSSS i was waiting for this announcement since i heard about the time period of the game, not a fan of DLC but... still excited to play as Belasarius!
Cornilius! :D Ich freue mich am meisten auf den neuen Patch, obwohl die Kampgne wahrscheinlich auch cool werden wird. Wirst du dazu eine Kampagne starten?
the history nerd in me wants to point out that whilst its the 200th anniversary of Waterloo this year, its also the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt in October, it would be an excellent time to announce medieval 3...please
I know that the Total War guys read the description, and in the name of the people, who like you, I have to say, that is is a truly good idea. Not because that I'm the fanboyest of fanboys, but because you choose a time period, that most of us just don't know a thing about. I always wondered what happened to the remains of the empire, and you give it to me in an epic game. The story based choises are also really good, and I'm really, really looking forward to it. And to the others. Can't you see how much are they trying? You bash them for making contect for the game? And GOOD contect?
OK I've ragged on you guys before bit to be honest I am interested. I'll have to check out your let's plays and streams before anything big though. Also, that Macedon shirt doe.
Stops the video and buys Shogun and Medieval... Thanks so much for this CA. Those were such awesome games! EDIT: any idea when those games will be available? On the 25th of June?
I would hate to have to have CA's fans...they really look like they're trying and working hard since Rome 2. This pack looks great! But I guess you can't convince everyone.
What do the developers think about the popularity of the Lord of the Rings: Rise of mordor mod? The announcement video alone has over 250k views so the game would definitely sell if made into a feature title.
I love the arts in Rome2 and Attila - those pictures are fantastic...But it dosnt look like that in game. Maybe its because my pc barely run the game on medium-low sets heh.
Can somebody explain to me why everybody is upset about this? It is a good dlc with an interesting time period. This doesn't fill in missing content, but adds new content. This is a good dlc from what I can see.
If we could get some more Middle Eastern factions, that'd be great. But no, seriously, give us some 2handed swords for Attila, please, historical accuracy aside it would be great. Seems like a good map pack lots of content new units more story and involvement from other characters though im rather bummed their were no new factions to give it that extra spice all and all a good map pack :)
Remember when DLC and expansions added worthwhile content?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
***** What about Rome II?
Steve Someone I dont want Dlcs only some love like patch 16
You mean Rome II Remastered 4k Emperor Platinum Edition Deluxe?
Geistmeister6 I bought all 3 Rome II campaign DLCs and yes, all three were worth it. I got many hours out of them, and I still have been playing them.
Geistmeister6 Dank meme yo
The first DLC for this game, apart from the blood and burning DLC that has got my attention.
I'll keep an eye on this.
DUB_R: TotalWar The Longbeards and Celts DLC's are actually pretty cool, only the Viking DLC has a weak amount of content.
Bindjaman They should have been in the game on release though.
Martin Eggman The Viking Forefather pack? Aboloutly, but I can live with the other ones, because they do have cool content.
Bindjaman I know they're cool but seriously, they should have just been in the game from release if they're going to released as DLC so early on is greedy.
Hmm, has Will changed a little or is it just me?
sceligator I think he cut his hair.
sceligator where's craig
sceligator Funny and sad at the same time.
So we get DLC´s for a Stanalone DLC....
Nice...
Zlatko Edgar yeah but we also get a free content update the 25th of june plus the orginal shogun and medival on steam - oh the nostalgia
Zlatko Edgar But you don't get it since you don't own the game
***** Neither they dont work on new computer at all. Especially medieval.
Emre Birinci
lets just hope its updated to work on steam.
It came DLC's to Fall of the Samurai, didn't see anyone bitching about that.
I cant wait for Warhammer Rally Point Episodes ;D
E3 cant get hear fast enough ;)
Поглядим.
Да, владыка

Loved the Mike Sampson/CA history part.
What about 600 years of Azincourt ? Its in 2015 aswell. In july.
Are you serious? This is the Hannibal at the Gates map. You guys are brave, first you launch a campaign on a pimped grand campaign map, now you release a dlc with a pimped HatG map, happy it's coming though...
Also, first comment ;)
Ok, actually the 4th, but my browser didn't load the other 3 comments
Thomahawk2k This is the most nagging gaming community ever. Just don't buy if not interested, mate. Ffs...
***** Oh, good point, missed France... Quickest answer I ever got from a game developer though...I still think you used HatG as a basis though, most of France, as well as Dalmatia and more Southern Africa was already there, just without regions...
Erald Ylli I never said I won't buy, nor that I'm not interested, but the description of this DLC claims it's a NEW detailed map...
TheRaven1702 yes you're right and I would like to add that the world map can't really change considering it's on earth and usually the same locations. "pimped grand campaign map" ... well earth is earth.
I wonder what the next historical Total war will be... I hope for Medieval 3, but i think they wont do that :(
Quod Perierat most likey victorian
lithen00 They already got Napoleon and Empire so i doubt it. They also said they're not gonna re visit a certain period in history 3 times any time soon. So i don't think so.
Quod Perierat victorian is 100 yers late then empire and thik about it airplanes fyling units in warhammer
lithen00 Victorian era 1837-1901. Napoleon was close enough i think. But if they do make it.. I don't know much about Victorian era in Europe. Were there many big wars?
lithen00 And they already got Shogun 2 FOTS which is in the 1860s.

Betraying the Emperor??? NEVER!! I shall stay faithful to Justinian!
this looks like a proper DLC after long time, hope it really turns out that way
Good Rally Point. I really enjoyed the short interview with Mike Simpson. Looking forward to more info about Total Warhammer!
Nice to see Mike give one of his rare interviews.
Shogun 1 on Steam?! Thank you so much, guys! Finally! :D
Well hopefully there will be lots of cities and such when you focus on a certain area of the map, you guys usually do that so I should not worry.
I hope we see some unique units also!
I eagerly await.
Awesome! I LOVE the campaign packs, the REAL quality content. Also love seeing Jack Lusted!
People beg for a Justinian DLC. They get a Justinian DLC. They complain that they get DLC. Huh?
Thank you for sharing Simpson's thoughts about the trajectory of TW since its origin. Very interesting and appealing when someone shares his life experience, even if just related to " videogames ".
"the emperor justinian, the empress, and his wife"............what?
The Rogue Empire Those three people influenced Belisarius life. So what...what?
Panda Rocket Did not see it that way. Seems legit. But yeah, he means two different person; he is talking about the empress and Belisarius wife.
ooo, he meant belisarius's wife. ok
The Rogue Empire Yes.
Looks great :D I loved to see the mind behind Shogun 1
I was looking for something like "RISE OF ISLAM". Bit disappointing but still cool though.
Ace Ventura Yeah but armour etc didnt changed that much I think. Early medieval was the same thing.

***** sand people ? lol i feel like 2nd grade human now :\
ABDULLAH suleiman why do you feel offended ? lol i love the desert ;)
Have you guys thought about making a Medieval 3, Alexander 2 remake or something like that? That'd be cool! I havent played Attila yet but I hope this new campaign is good!
I like the 'What else is new?' comes up right after the guy says 'It's really not a good time for people to be alive.'
GLORY TO ROME! Really excited for this! Attila is my favourite Total War game thus far and I hope even more love comes to Attila before Warhammer takes over :-).
I've been waiting for this for a very long time.
I have modded the game to make this happen, making up to 6 different roman factions and even roman horde factions simulating Germanic Roman rebels looking for loot and slaughter.
where can i get one tshirt like that?
One thing I really miss about the total war series is frequent detailed reports that affect the game while also teaching history. With more of that I feel like future total war titles will be more solid games.

WOOOHOOO old medieval and shogun on steam! the good times are coming back!
To everyone waiting for Total War: Warhammer, have you seen these new screenshots and interviews about the game yet?
www.pcgamer.com/total-war-warhammer-screenshots-show-giants-trolls-a-proud-griffon/
This is cool!
This is the era that I've been long been waiting for. Good stuff CA!
The DLC includes a sandwich?
I enjoy the interview more than I did with the announcement.
when will you guys offer WRE and ERE t shirts on your merchandise site
FINALLY!!!!!!
''We don't want to just reskin stuff and serve it up again'' So what were those faction DLC's all about then?
YEEESSSSS i was waiting for this announcement since i heard about the time period of the game, not a fan of DLC but... still excited to play as Belasarius!
There should be Lombards in Italy by that time...
Well now I know waht I will use my summer on
kingnikolaj "Use"? Try "waste". And btw, me too! :P
close enough
Good to see you guys still working on attila. I'd have thought you guys were done with it and moved on to warhammer.
HOLY CRAP, THE ORIGINAL GAMES ARE COMING TO STEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the best news of the year. Honestly, both are absolutely wonderful.
oh man, where can i buy those shirts?
I hope we get a King Arthur/Artorius Castus campaign pack too.
The sound is so low...
Very promising!
Flc same day as the new campaign? Prepare for new Roman units!! (Hopefully)
WOHOOOO NEW INFOS,
I'm looking forward to the new DLC!! :D
Cornilius! :D
vlt Let's Show artiges oder so :)
Kommt bald wieder eine Nationaguide zu Rome II?
jop
Release day is my birthday yeah :D
are the patch notes out yet?
What I got out of the video was that you have made Shogun and Mideval playable again! Now the price just have to match the games age...
The original Shogun and Medieval are coming to Steam!! Whoot!!!!
RIP Will
never forget 2015
New Will isn't bad, but he will be referred to as New Will for now.
the history nerd in me wants to point out that whilst its the 200th anniversary of Waterloo this year, its also the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt in October, it would be an excellent time to announce medieval 3...please
I can't wait to conquer Hippo's Diarrhea! 3:02
So five playable factions huh? I guess all the others on this DLC will be DLC
June the 25th day after my birthday :D but got exams all that week so won't be able to play much :'(
When is arena alpha coming to the us?
I know that the Total War guys read the description, and in the name of the people, who like you, I have to say, that is is a truly good idea. OK I've ragged on you guys before bit to be honest I am interested. I'll have to check out your let's plays and streams before anything big though.
Also, that Macedon shirt doe.
Will the DLC have any effect on the main campaign? Like extra factions or something like that?
13:45 yeah, obviously that's why CA made Napoleon or Attila.
@ 00:47 I see you lurkin there Jesse Cox!
Edit: They literally mentioned him... whoops!
I'll be waiting for that Warhammer video, but where's my favorite screaming redhead?! D:
He left ca :'(
SPLegoStudios (Phoenix Studios) why????
SPLegoStudios (Phoenix Studios) What??? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Minatoleekrinaze i cried. :'(
SPLegoStudios (Phoenix Studios) YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you still change your factions religion like in the main game?
The whole series started 4 days before I was born and in 4 days I'm getting Attila total l, coincidence I think not 😂
Stops the video and buys Shogun and Medieval... Thanks so much for this CA. Those were such awesome games!
EDIT: any idea when those games will be available? On the 25th of June?
I would hate to have to have CA's fans...they really look like they're trying and working hard since Rome 2. This pack looks great! But I guess you can't convince everyone.
RALLY POINT!
I like this. Go historical total wars!!!
Mind if I ask whether Shogun and Medieval will be Mac-compatible if downloaded through Steam, or if they'll be Windows-only?
Are there going to be more campaign packs for Atilla ?
Recuperatio imperii!
Will the free LC come out the same day with the last roman?
Man you put a 10 min interview in a rally point instead of more new campaign details?! Nice new campaign tho. I like belasarius/vandals invasion
OK great.
CA, where the last Total War Rome II patch?
WARRHAMER ROCKS LIKE HELL!
Was the old guy Ceasars spirit?
Am I the only one who is exited for Shogun and Medieval one to hit steam? Man I love Medieval, never played Shogun 1 but I bet its as good.
What do the developers think about the popularity of the Lord of the Rings: Rise of mordor mod? The announcement video alone has over 250k views so the game would definitely sell if made into a feature title.
Ryan B I think a Lord Of The Rings or Westeros Total War would actually work better than War Hammer.
That's nice and all but would you kindly sell a Shogun 2 bundle on steam, thanks. Looking forward to TW Warhammer.
I love the arts in Rome2 and Attila - those pictures are fantastic...But it dosnt look like that in game. Maybe its because my pc barely run the game on medium-low sets heh.
Why is Wil Wheaton and Mr. Tumnus presenting this episode of Rally Point ?
Can somebody explain to me why everybody is upset about this? It is a good dlc with an interesting time period. This doesn't fill in missing content, but adds new content. This is a good dlc from what I can see.
***** Been wondering that also, while reading comments. Wounds that Rome 2 caused have not healed. Plus Viking first day dlc was outrageous.
Sooo, when Rome II gonna get Gold Edition? If there is I hope you'd combine it with Attila and the DLC.
Why are you guys complaining about DLC's
When in CS:GO a knife cost 400 bucks?!!
No one ehh?
Dude Payday 2 is awesome, btw this new dlc comes out same day as Golden Grin, some I'm pumped for June 25th
Simon Smith where did i mention Payday 2? i am a fan of the game, but i don't see the point in your comment
Your profile pic is dallas, hence why I said Payday 2
Simon Smith ok
66_greenrunner_77 Even though payday does the same with the exception it is almost an "indie" game so no problem with paid content huh?
im still hoping for a full blowen Viking TW in the future but im still hyped for Warhammer TW
BELISARIUS! YES!
Also, the fact that there ARE less factions, indicates that there were kingdoms forming after the fall of the Western Roman Empire.
rally point 28??
If we could get some more Middle Eastern factions, that'd be great. But no, seriously, give us some 2handed swords for Attila, please, historical accuracy aside it would be great.
I love Total War, I don't have Napoleon but that's it, and Rome and Barbarian Invasion were great, they had alot more playable factions than Attila, so it would be awesome to get some more African/Arabians
lobot922 Why 2 handed swords?
Monkeeyo Because it's something that isn't in the game. (I'm also working on making units that use it, lol) And in Barbarian Invasion there were two handed units
lobot922 Aren't there two-handed axe anims? Surely you could use those with a new sword model...
Robert Faber That's what I did, I'm using the Middle Eastern Khanda sword as the twohanded, it works as a placeholder but it would be awesome if they added one themselves
***** Sorry, I should have clarified, BI had just over Attila in number of factions if you don't count DLCs
I forgot about this game.
Wheres Ginger man?
Seems like a good map pack lots of content new units more story and involvement from other characters though im rather bummed their were no new factions to give it that extra spice all and all a good map pack :)
Finally a new patch
Can't wait, this is actually really good. Very few games pay attention to the Byzantine period, so this is all fantastic!
Yeah, yeah, gonna need more of that Warhammer info though.
When is the next Rally Point? anyone knows?
I didn't get angry at this one, in fact I learned and enjoyed it.
