    Czesc! Happy to have found your channel. I'm also Polish, also living abroad (Sweden). Currently thinking about either starting to design patters, or starting a podcast. Or both :D One of the things that has been inspiring me is seeing so many designs by Polish creators gaining popularity recently, there is definitely some momentum building

    oh my gosh!! i’m the one who knit the elara cardigan in rauma fivel! thank you so much for the compliments💕
    it was such a fun, fast knit and rauma fivel is definitely perfect for that mix of fluff and definition. it’s very warm and knits up wonderfully:)

      @@blank.stitches i have very sensitive skin when it comes to wool so it is scratchy on me, but i think it should be fine if you like norweigian/rustic yarns in general! since it creates a very thick fabric it’s better suited for late fall or winter, so i’ll be wearing a long sleeve underneath to help!

    Hi Wiktoria! Really recommend you to make hats - I was growing up on my knitting journey with them, but this year I want to try socks chapter ( and I'm a little bit scared of second sock tirednes ). When you said Polish name of knitter I was in schock! You have such a good english accent! Warm greetings from Poland

      I’ve actually cast on my first hat and i’m so surprised how quickly it’s growing! Definitely try knitting socks, it’s super fun! Maybe try a lace/cabled pattern to keep it more interesting? Also, i know some people knit two socks at once i.e. they split the ball of yarn into two or knit from centre pull and outside pull, then just knit 10 rows of one and catch up on the other to prevent second sock syndrome haha! I’ve not tried it but might be useful if you find yourself there! Also, I always cast on my second sock immediately after the first, which really helps with this! Dziękuję za komentarz i pozdrawiam :)

    I was a tester for the Elara Cardigan, I knit the red one! I used the knitting for olive heavy merino + mohair combo. It's a lovely lovely pattern, so so fast.
    I personally found that using too fluffy of a yarn, like 2 strands of alpaca, that I lost a lot of definition of the cables. I did a swatch with a rust color and I couldn't really see the cables at all. My only advice is if you go fluffy with that pattern, to use a lighter color.

      i think i commented on your post and it was so so lovely! ithink i’ll go for the rauma fivel since it looks like it fluffs up after blocking but leaves nice stitch definition. the pattern looks great though, i cannot wait to knit it!

      Thank you for talking about yarns in terms of your skin sensitivity, it's something I also struggle with and I find it hard to know what yarn to use without spending lots of money on yarn projects I can't wear. I'm also in the UK so it's even more helpful knowing that I can buy what you buy 😊

    You may, of course, already have heard of it before but just in case 😊- as for the Oslo Hat, actually you need two skeins of Double Sunday for your size plus literally a few metres from the third skein. If you’re going to make two hats in the same colour, you may count two skeins for you and three for your boyfriend.

    hi there! thanks for another lovely video 🤍 i'm going to leave yet another comment on the drops vs kfo mohair thingy, bc these two could NOT be further apart!! as an extremely sensitive-skinned girlie i've tried several & to me the drops kid silk is a ball of yarn from hell, whereas the kfo is the only one that does not feel itchy or scratchy in any way 🥰

    • @wigglymoose
      @wigglymoose 2 місяці тому +1

      i’m also super sensitive - KFO heavy merino feels itchy to me. would you still recommend their mohair if this is the case? i’ve also heard good things about isager’s mohair being super soft but haven’t had a chance to try it for myself

    • @candidknit
      @candidknit 2 місяці тому +1

      @@wigglymoose heavy merino is a bit more rustic and itchy for me as well! i personally don't really tolerate the isager mohair unfortunately :( i'd say it's definitely very very soft - softer than kfo mohair - but more itchy for some reason

    Hi, great patterns! I love many of those too. I am finishing up a ranunculus that I used the drops brushed alpaca silk for 1 strand and it was wonderful to work with and feels amazing! I have Fibromyalgia and have Super sensitive skin so I have issues finding yarns that work for me. I wanted to let you know that works for me and I've worn the sweater for a while around the house to make sure. I'm doing the bottom ribbing and have finished everything else so I definitely have the full effect of the drops brushed. Hope that helps... 1 thing, I did go through more of it than I thought I would so I'm glad I bought an extra skein. For reference, I held it double with KFO merino.

    If you haven't tried cabling without a cable needle yet, I highly recommend it. Much less fiddly than using a cable needle, and makes knitting cables so much faster and more fun.

      I actually have but I can’t get the hang of it, because my stitches end up unraveling! I’ll definitely give it a go with these projects because my yarns will be more grippy

    • @CelesteKnits
      @CelesteKnits 2 місяці тому +1

      @@blank.stitches Ah, yeah, I imagine slippery yarn might be a bit difficult, especially when you're getting the hang of it. But, yes, untreated wool at the tight enough gauge shouldn't be a problem. Good luck! I have learned to absolutely love cabling, so crossing my fingers for you that you will too.

    Hey, about mohair and itchiness, I’ve heard of Midnatssol by CaMaRose which is lace weight and baby alpaca / tencel / merino and is much cheaper than usual mohair (KFO and such). People are saying it is very soft and is nice to wear close to the neck, I have yet to try it though

    Hii, I recently knitted with drops mohair (very itchy, can't have skin contact) and brushed alpaca and kfo mohair (can wear directly to skin). The brushed alpaca is twice as thick as the mohair, so the fabric of my sweater truned out very dense. Drops bruhed alpaca is still itchy, but it hasn't any hard hairs like the drops mohair. I need to wear a turtleneck under for sure. I hope it'll work for you 🧡

    new sub and i must say your patterns and style are gorgeous but one complaint and i am so sorry but it isn't only you but a common thing i been running into for unending years by now and that is , no one uses autumn colors in their crochet and knitting work. i am just so baffled by it because when winter season hits everyone runs for the snow colors, then the bold christmas tree reds blues greens golds and silvers with the sparkles and shine. For spring everyone reaches for pastels and summer everyone reaches for the meadow and open fields colors along with beach side colors. But when it comes to autumn no one reaches for the pumpkin , cinnamon, nutmeg, pecan , chestnut, oranges, blacks, maple tree reds, golden hues of lothlorien leaves, deep plum purples and so many variations of autumn tones abroad that i do not have a name for but when it is seen in forest trees and nature during the autumn seasons everyone scurries for the hot cider and those chilly crisp bulky sweater and jeans long trail walks with their loved one. Why isn't anyone using autumn color tones in crocheting and knitting is beyond me !!!!! and leaf patterns are so needed for these colors.

    • @blank.stitches
      @blank.stitches  2 місяці тому

      hey, i think it really depends on the person’s colours themselves, so I don’t generally reach for warmer tones, because they just don’t suit me. I think Bethany from Well Loved Knits does reach for them quite a lot if you’re interested in those, also I think Morgan Unraveled does sometimes

    Knitting for Olive mohair is a lot more soft then Drops. I would rather not use mohair then using Drops. It’s expensive but compared to others of that price range it’s better quality (cruelty free silk and traceable mohair) and the color selection is much better.
