Thanks for the cozie! My fave swag from the event. That first wave was frisky fersur. We didn’t even have a groove in the slop or “steps” on the hike that some of my friends on the 4th wave had. Maybe I’ll see you on our trails here, once the snow melts! What’s up with that?!?
Glad you like the cozie! BV! motto: Shaka, wave, and a smile / Don't be a dick! Yes--I'm well over winter...too cold, wet, and even snowy in Santa Cruz. Cheers! -Greg
First time cobbler. Took me 7:55 to finish. Well I took your advice from your prep video. Tires didn’t matter. I’m not sure what would have helped in the mud. Had some chain suck on the last half of the ride. Which pretty much meant I had no climbing gear at end. I assume from the mud and grit. So next time I will bring some lube. I also took your goal of not feeling like crap after. I finished. Ate and rode back to hotel. Ate 2nd dinner took nap then drove back to Los Angeles. If anything thanks for your videos.
That's so great! My first year at the Cobbler (2-years ago I guess) I also had the chain lube epiphany...except it was more about annoying squeaks because it was dry AF. Not sure if you're doing other events this Spring, but best of luck. -Greg
@@santacruzbikevids Maybe BWR in April or what ever else I can find. I'm still doing these rides on my tank 2018 E5 comp diverge. (non Carbon). Pretty much felt like driving a corolla with a bunch of Ferrari bikes. But hey I still made it.
Shoulder sublux! I am far too familiar with that on both shoulders. Heal up! When I was a snowbunny back in the day - I used to tie my arms to my belt so they wouldn't raise too high and dislocate :) the things we do for love.... Thanks for being honest! Feelings are real.
Feeling for you friend! Getting injured is the worst. It’s so hard to even admit to ourselves we are hurt and need to stop what we had planned to deal with it. And our poor injured body is like “Dude stop!” So sorry you had to do that fucked up hike a bike injured!
Tough break man. It's really hard when you have to pause your goals for a minute. This was my first Cobbler and I was very humbled! I'm in Santa Cruz too, hope to see ya pedaling around man!
If you do--say "hey!" I think I've been really lucky with injuries, so hopefully I can re-frame some of my goals to include a pause, as you mentioned, to keep strong. Cheers, Greg
Great video Greg and glad you are on the mend. It takes courage to not push yourself past the edge in these races and good on you for listening to your body. Heal up and see you on the road/dirt soon!
I DID! Bug away! I'm gonna post this year's video in about a minute. Great year at the Cobbler right? Mud didn't really pan out / beautiful weather...easier to focus on the hard part: the course! -Greg
breakdown is right..thank god for vicks😚

Word! Hopefully, no arm bungee-ing will be in my future (but good to know it's an option--ha!)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Indeed. Cheers!
Did you do the Rock Cobbler 11.0? I thought I saw you during the event but didn't want to bug if it was you.
