I didn't think he joined Southern Pacific until 1986, but here he is! John Fogerty also played this event - I wonder if the two of them ran into each other during the event. Awkward!
At 1:24 it appears EH had to hold her microphone point-blank just to be heard very well. But I like this song, the studio version of which I grew up hearing.
@@vdavis4785 I told my lady I never cheated on her and never would, but if I got a chance with Emmylou, I don't know what would happen. She laughed and said if she were a guy she'd feel the same way.
Bassist Stu Cook reunited with drummer Doug Clifford in 1995 and formed Creedence Clearwater Revisited. They toured from 1995-2019, retiring just last year.
Southern Pacific was such a Great Country Rock Band and Emmy was here at superb Form!
Two members of Creedence Clearwater Revival played Farm Aid 1985. We see bassist Stu Cook here, and John Fogerty was a solo act.
Every 6-8 months or so, I dig this video up and watch it at least a half dozen times in a row. I just love this performance.
A Tom Petty song done well.
Emmylou one beautiful lady and singer , And powerful music
Another Doobie Brother was on drums. The late, great Keith Knudsen. And of course Emmy Lou from Birmingham, Al.
Ken Perk Un in TV I'm pm mjj
RIP Keith Knudsen
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned or noticed that's Stu Cook on Bass.. Original Credence Clearwater Revival bassist..
I didn't think he joined Southern Pacific until 1986, but here he is!

I knew that. John McFee guitarist was a Doobie Brother
And Dave Jenkins was original Pablo Cruise.
Stu Cook on bass ex CCR
Another gem, written by TOM PETTY!
The greatest honor any musician could have is for Emmylou to join them onstage.
John McFee from Doobie Bros. on lead.
Can we all hold hands and send a message to the universe for this band to come back again? Gail
This would have been great on the Petty Country album with so many country music artists paying tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!
These guys, Pirates of the Mississippi, Bailey and the Boys, 4 Runner - all underappreciated bands. Thank goodness for UA-cam preserving their work.
Don't forget the Desert Rose Band
@@MidnightVentures Desert Rose!!! "One Step Forward." "She Don't Love Nobody."
@@cneterer And my favorite by them: Summer Wind
@@MidnightVentures I didn't remember that one. Thank you so much for making me look it up.
@@cneterer That's the one I grew up to. I'm 47 now. Later on, i discovered Southern Pacific in my early 30's.
love you Emmylou my favourite female artist
Not at this time, but maybe someday. Glad you enjoy it!
Damn. Tim Goodman singing lead. His voice is perfect; never changes. Love him.

I think a lot of guys have a thing about Emmy Lou Harris. I know I do. Love her!
So do gals. You want to date her; we want to be her.
I second that! ❤️

Tim Goodman was fantastic on vocals!
That bass player's having a good time.
That bass player is Stu Cook, formerly of CCR! Pretty cool. He's having a blast.
@@mattlela Yes. And Fogerty played at this event too.... wonder if they ran into each other.
Yeahh Country rock!
Looks like Emmylou had been to Willies bus.
Temazo!! En mí barrio todavía se baila este tema CountryRock

God I love this song
Whatever happened to these guys?
John McFee went back to the Doobie Brothers. Not sure about the rest of the guys.

Like so many other bands in that era, they ended up getting rolled and forgotten by the suit and tie corporate's in TrashvIlle (Nashville)
God, I miss this incredible band. The years of pleasure and vibrant warmth they gave me was a treasure.
Great voices
I love this ❤️
One of my fave songs simple 💕
Another classic Petty tune... performed by a great band... ruined by keyboards.
Originally that keys part was fiddle by John McFee.
Nice video and gave a thumbs up.
WOW!!
Absolutley beautiful
Totally Awesome
Interesting
3:04 the guy throws the frisbee.
