Thank you for this short and sweet and not confusing tutorial. I was able to make this key chain in just a few minutes. I will be using this hitch on all my future paracord creations.
That's because tying your shoes daily is a waste of time when there's a better alternative. This is art, you're creating something new and useful and interesting. Therefore brain says "time well spent" They say adhd is a disability, I say it's actually just highly productive. Just happens to be more production, as in forward only. No time to stop and finish what's no longer useful. Must do the next thing! 😂
I actually changed it up just a small bit by using 15 feet of two colors, a carbineer, and a key ring to make what I call a lanyard keychain. I think it turned out beautifully especially by following your tutorial and doing small tweaks to get a different result.
Made this as a gift for someone at work and it turned out nice! I used a similar color scheme (gray for main color and red for accent); I'd just say that you might want to cut your main color 6-9 inches longer. I cut both to 4.5ft and ran out of gray just short of the bottom of the hitch and had to finish with just the red.
Another thing to mention is if you end up in this predicament again you can always add length to your short strand by adding another piece to it butting the two together melted at the ends. Depending on where the melted bit ends up in the weave you usually cant even tell it was done.
I’ve been focusing more on key fobs lately I’ve only been making Bracelets for myself no one seems to appreciate my wide bracelets and the work that goes into them I’m definitely giving this one a go
This was my second project and it took a little while to get it, but then I got the hang of the knot and have successfully finished it, thank you! PS, yes, more key chains would be great.
@TheWeaversofEternity thank you so much brotha!!! Just made my first of many to come hahaha, super big fan of the DNA helix and again thank you so much brotha!!! Love your channel!
Hi Tim, love this! Instead of letting it twist tying same right side cobra knot, I used the 2 colours but one strand each side and then regular cobra knots keeping it flat, try it it gives a unique effect. Fab tutorial 🤩
Love this keychain but I’m just beginning this craft and I’m wondering if there is a way of attaching a carabiner at the top of it to attach it to my bag? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
I just build it for myself an i love it. I'm a male nurse in Germany and many of my teammates ordered one as well. It would be great if you could create any other "medical" stuff out of paracord. Maybe the Aesculap rod??
wow, you have very awesome projects, cool work, you are good with the paracord knots and weaves congrats, very good tutorials. si por favor mas llaveros de paracord!!!
Turned out sick. Had to give it some tries since i tightend the digital ACU to much so the DNA pattern in ACU disappeared. Turned out cool still but a single DNA wrap i guess haha.
Hey, you can get those at buckleguy.com they're very high quality and solid, but that means they're quite difficult to open up when you want to take the keys on and off.
Gorgeous man! Not sure what I am doing wrong but I end up with a big knot. First tutorial I've failed (thought I was good at this) but it's not you. I'm just super sucking at this. I'm ending up with a giant knot. Can that happen from just pulling to tight? I'm doing right hand all the way down and alternating.
Update: okay, to anyone having trouble, tighter does not equal better on this one. For others, this has always been the case for me but tigheter means no helix here
Of course you can! As far as I know, you can't copyright, trademark, or license the way a knot is tied. So if somebody puts this kind of information out there for people to learn, they can do with it what they wish.
Hey I just attempted to make this myself and one thing I noticed is that my twist is no where near as extreme/prominent as this one is. Any advise or tips on what I’m doing wrong would be appreciated.

Hello master, do you think a 3-color DNA can be made? I'm trying, but it's impossible for me !!
You can also use this to tie a 4 strand cobra knot
1minsp
This is gorgeous! Yes, please, more keychain paracord projects!
Agreed
I love that you used right-side cobra knots so that it becomes a right-handed double helix like real DNA.
Thank you for this short and sweet and not confusing tutorial. I was able to make this key chain in just a few minutes. I will be using this hitch on all my future paracord creations.
I've used cordless shoes, and untied tennis shoes my whole life because I don't like knots... and here I am.
Yeah
Next make sure to DNA knot your shoes
Do you have the shoes that light up when you stomp?
I have a cordless phone.

I'm a big fan of your videos on paracording. My new hobby it's keeping me busy during the cold months. Get ready for the next coming fire season.

I noticed the same thing. I think a 5 foot and a 4 foot cord would be perfect for this project
I just got into tying paradors as a hobby and this reminds me so much of my boondoggle days
Very cool! I am definitely going to be making that one.
Love this, it's super cool and super easy to follow. Helping me make my Christmas gifts!!
I've made a couple of these for my family and close friends. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Me too. Hahahaha Greattings from Brazil!
I really like this design
I’ve been focusing more on key fobs lately I’ve only been making Bracelets for myself no one seems to appreciate my wide bracelets and the work that goes into them I’m definitely giving this one a go

Brilliant, made one with orange and gray, took me longer but still quite straightforward if you're the patient type.
TM for this one yall, bout to go on a weaving spree 😆 but for real this is why I subscribed, thanks.
Great video looks awesome!! Subbed!
Love this one's I am going to try it thank you, keep on doing great work
Awesome. I will save this for my to do list
Thank you! Easy and looks really cool.
I didn't hope this would be this easy.... Awesome content....
Great more key chains please? Appreciate your video.
Thanks, I just made this double DNA keychain last night and it looks fantastic.
If you are considering making it, it is worth it. It’s been two years since I made it, and I’m still using it as my keychain.
This is cool. I made one using micro cord and triple layers.
Wow, have seen these for a while and didnt realise they were that easy to make. Will have a go at a couple of these tomorrow.
Both simple and beautiful knot😁love it!
I made one. It is okay. Kinda bulky. I might may a few, but don't plan on a bunch. I did learn a new knot though. Thanks for posting.
Take the 7 white strands out of the center of your paracord, this will give you a thinner version, works for smaller bracelets too.
Awsomeeeee now i need to make one of these for my friends who is studying biology
Awesome..... you are the best to the best
This is the best I’ve ever seen 😜👍🏻Thx bro and happy new year 🥰🍀🙏🏻
Awesome!!! And very easy, good work man, please more keychain, thanks.
Turned out great! Thank you so much for passing on your knowledge !
You're welcome!
Great tutorial. More great key fob tutorials please.
Great! Yes, please more keychains videos. Thanks!
excellent, I'm going to do it😎👍🏼
Loved it ❤
Great weave!
I'm so turning this into a watch band 😎
I accidently discovered the single strand version of this while messing up a cobra knot. I did some simple, pull, bracelets for my kids with that.
Same here haha
It's not wrong if you like the end result...
it's exactly how you meant for it to be.
This is awesome!🇬🇧👍
Question, I want to make two, 2 foot motorcycle whips for my bike. What lengths do I need to attempt this?
I love this look. I must try it, I've made chainmail like this
Wow, it looks cool. I haven't done any of these weaving in quite a while. But this looks like something I will enjoy doing g tomorrow.
Have fun!
Thanks, man it came out nice. I used black and white with a teal color.
Cool stuff
Love this keychain but I’m just beginning this craft and I’m wondering if there is a way of attaching a carabiner at the top of it to attach it to my bag?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
Love the Key Fob, yes Key Fob as there is no chain used anywhere.
Very nice indeed... I'll be trying this one for sure, thankyou. My car keys need a new fob so this looks perfect.
Awesome Work! Thank you video!
Really nice!
Nice video and inspiring for make it.
I just build it for myself an i love it. I'm a male nurse in Germany and many of my teammates ordered one as well. It would be great if you could create any other "medical" stuff out of paracord. Maybe the Aesculap rod??
Yes more key chains ! Thank you
That keychain is one of my favorites 👍
Beautiful, it would be awesome to see more 'bout keychains .
wow, you have very awesome projects, cool work, you are good with the paracord knots and weaves
congrats, very good tutorials. si por favor mas llaveros de paracord!!!
This is awesome
I love this!
Very clever, very neat, why not bring the strands fwd a little towards the ring and cover with a Turks head but I like it.
How about using this weave for the basis of a neck strap for camera or binoculars?
Turned out sick. Had to give it some tries since i tightend the digital ACU to much so the DNA pattern in ACU disappeared. Turned out cool still but a single DNA wrap i guess haha.
That is awesome. I just made it, and I am a science teacher (physics) but still science, and this is very cool!
Glad you like it!
Amazing content!
I love this! One question... exactly how long is the finished keychain?
Wow!!!!!Amazing!!!
Very nice 👏
What is the the metal tool youre using to smooth out the finished ends called?
I think that it is amazing and mine turned out well
🤠 i did it! I did it!! Yay!
i measured everything exactly and was about 5 knots short on each looks great other than that
Aah the mighty macrame!
Cool.
So if you use the full length of the cord, how long will the finish product be ?...
I did it. Yollow+green. Thank you! but 4.5 feet seems a bit short. the cord that you fold could go 5.5. the other 4.5 would do.
May I ask where you bought the key rings? Thanks
Hey, you can get those at buckleguy.com they're very high quality and solid, but that means they're quite difficult to open up when you want to take the keys on and off.
im making this but with a key ring on one side and a carabiner on the other. so i can loop it on my belt or other things
Tips for keeping it from pigtailing?
Can this be done on a handle? Could you do a video on that?
Just what I was looking for, I know a similar one that doesn't look as good, I will use this instead, thanks
Gorgeous man! Not sure what I am doing wrong but I end up with a big knot. First tutorial I've failed (thought I was good at this) but it's not you. I'm just super sucking at this. Thank you for the tutorial i was wondering wether i am allowed to sell it tho
Of course you can! As far as I know, you can't copyright, trademark, or license the way a knot is tied. So if somebody puts this kind of information out there for people to learn, they can do with it what they wish.
Класс 🙌!! Спасибо!! Обязательно сделаю!!
I have tried making a round keychain and nothing goes right, watched this and looks great just did one thanks.
Best pattern
Nice 👍
Hey I just attempted to make this myself and one thing I noticed is that my twist is no where near as extreme/prominent as this one is. Any advise or tips on what I’m doing wrong would be appreciated.
Are your knots tight?
how can I make a key ring on both ends please let me know
Can you do a dogleash in this way? I don't know how to make the loop
Lovin it....what about coreless designs like plastic gimp key chains??? Jc
I suggest adding another 6 inches to your base color for the inner cords.
