I think Laibach's song is so much deeper though almost impossible to comprehend - even if you put it in context to other laibach songs. But essentially this is maybe the meaning: to ask questions without answering them (Rammstein however is putting a clear statement with their song: that they want to love but eventually hate their nation due to it's history). Laibach on the other hand is playing with the national romantic theme (notice the almost corny beginning) of a united nation. Just to continue with a much more serious sound, telling that the overshadowing ideal of a united nation is continued amongst generations, wich is on the one hand reassuring but on the other hand frightening and totalitarian. I think Laibach are playing with this dissonance, indulding in and simultaneously warning of these feelings. Without stating a clear conclusion.

As for all the racist/nazi comments here: it would be so nice if everyone just accepted other humans (whether white or black or blue and of whatever cultural origin) as the humans they are. Look at what we have in common rather than at what separates us. Time will eventually solve all ethnic and cultural differences. Who cares what exact language you speak or what color your skin is or that of your children or grandchildren... Who cares if "white culture" or "european culture" is influenced and changed by other cultures. We won't be any less happy for it. The future is not for the light-skinned anyway, that's a demographic fact. Might as well get used to it lol. Ditch the emotions.
I feel you, but remember that they are delusionals and one funny thing that occur with them is that they are very focused on science yet they are the ones that ignore it the most. I though nazism was about "improving" the quality of every race, something that could "protect" their culture and traditions but, fortunately, realized that it was about white supremacism and the ability of violating human rights in the name of "progress". Just hoping anyone reading this that is into nazism can take a step back and think about what they are doing, I know how naive someone can be with this thought but at least try.
@Tahe Let me rephrase. Humans, essentially, -- i.e. on the soul level -- are all equal. The tribal nature of mankind that you mentioned is one among many barriers blinding us from that fact and we'll have to overcome them eventually. As individuals as well as collectively. Selfish behavior, spiritually, is a dead end. Those of us who advocate division and hatred (certain political figures and parties across the globe come to mind) still have a lot to learn.
@@Aqua_Gino But if there is one race that is way more susceptible towards greed, selfishness and materialism, you want to get rid of them, right? You can't just look away and let them do their dirty business. Without judgement, there is no justice.
It would be nice if humans wouldn't give each other reasons to hate each other. But that's wishful thinking. For as long as some group of people will commit more crime, or be more violent than other, or be more selfish than others, there will be conflict based upon differences between groups, including differences between ethnicities. And if there will be conflict the best you could do is to try to be on top. Maybe we'll fail and fate is already sealed for us... but maybe not. And if there is that slight chance that it is not, then we'd be true fools if we wouldn't strive to achieve it.
I might know fuck all about the german spirit but idk they seem to capture the quiet desperation of the German Nation always being silenced and their suppressed longing to feel proud without being shamed so well.
