Great video Tim. I’ll have to agree with you. You really need to do some research on what you’re planning on using the machine for. When I bought my first tractor, everybody said buy the biggest tractor that you can afford. Now in my case, I have expanded to what I do with my tractor And I’ve also expanded to the point where I’ve got three pieces of equipment with multiple pieces of attachments for all my equipment. But that’s because I went into excavating work. A subcompact tractor is like a Swiss Army knife. It will do a lot of things. Will it do everything. Perfect. No with a small tractor. Do the work of a big tractor. Yes to a point. If you’re moving dirt, it just takes longer. If you’re looking for lift capacity, you need a bigger tractor. I really was thinking about keeping my smaller tractor and buying a skid steer. Price for the skid steer was a lot of money and it’s a construction so it’s different interest rate and the whole works and I opted to go bigger tractor and it works well. I am glad it went with the bigger tractor. I did eventually buy the skid steer. I went track because of the type of work I plan on doing with it, so you really need to look at what you’re planning on doing and you really need to think outside the box because once you get tractor. If he is your first tractor, you’re gonna end up using it for more than what you expect. So again buy the biggest tractor you can afford and really really think about what you think you’re gonna use the tractor for and you’ll probably use it for more things than you think. Awesome video Tim. Stay warm later.

@puddlejumper3534 you do lots of dirt work, so a track skid is definitely the way to go. Thanks for stopping in and adding your experience to the comments section. I'm certain others will gain value from what you have stated.

I like your videos. Thank you for taking the time to do them. I was looking to upgrade my tractor (open station TC33 New Holland). Was looking at a 2023 Kioti dk5320se Cab. But during my research I came across a video where the guys was unhappy with the hydraulics, basically in winter felt they were not as responsive or refined as his Kubota. That gave me hesitation. Any thoughts on this 5320 tractor or hydraulics?

I've tested some Kubotas while deciding to get the Kioti and I agree, the Kubota hydraulics are much better. When it comes to lift capacity, the kioti wins. Kioti is also heavier so less weight is needed to be added to lift heavy. If you aren't planning to do heavy lifting and mostly use the loader for very fine work AND you have the budget, I'd go with a Kubota. If you want value for your money, lift capacity, and a heavy duty machine, go with the kioti. That's why I went the way I did for the most part. That and Kubota won't give much on trade ins. At least my dealer didn't. Best of luck on your journey!

@@timbervisions appreciate the response, yes price always seems to be my driving factor, even when it doesn't need to be. In this case since it's a large expense and likely my last tractor, really thinking about the difference in brands if in the long run the color (orange/green) will be worth the money. My last tractor, i bought 20 plus years ago. I have utility uses for my tractor, mainly a little of everything but i seem to use the loader mostly, brush hog, and box blade for maintaining a long gravel private drive.

@@jakej5855 for me as well. I'm still happy with my choice. That DK is a workhorse for me.
