I’m a village council member who is atheist and open about it. Funnily enough, in Canada, outside of a few jurisdictions, it’s never an issue. When I was running, not one constituent asked any of us about our faith or lack there of. I can’t remember it coming up in any provincial or federal election either, although our evangenitals (not a spelling mistake as it speaks to their preoccupation) also overwhelmingly vote conservative regardless of how negatively it impacts their lives.

Atheist here. Very liberal. Most of my also very liberal friends are believers (Methodist/Jewish/Episcopalian, mostly). They think their religions mandate that they do good for other people (and respect other people's choices...) . "Religious" people on the right? Not so much.
A lot of the younger generation in my family are left leaning Christians (myself included), and these videos are breath of fresh air from what we had to grow up around. I want to say that the future of America's religious war is looking hopeful once the boomer gen fades out, but that might be wishful thinking

My views are both left and right which means little because the parties have shifted their ideologies compared to when I was younger but the term "religious trauma" exists for multiple reasons. Jus' sayin'.

I live in a deep blue area/State (lots of colleges/universities) and every morning i wake to church bells that chime on the hour (kind of helpful tho, 7 rings, 7pm etc) and houses of worship are everywhere. she's very ignorant to make those broad kind of statements. i know my intact ethics wouldn't allow me to claim something i have no knowledge of but that seems to be their jam
My god lives within my soul - and I'm a much better person for not falling for organized religion. Also, my knees are less sore.
There is something going on where any comment I make with any substance gets deleted. It’s mostly during the day.
UA-cam is run by religious people and any argument that disproves 1 can be used to disprove the other so they flag people who make good arguments and delete their comments.
I often get notified of a comment made after i commented and when i go to check my comment is gone :/

Atheist here. Very liberal. Most of my also very liberal friends are believers (Methodist/Jewish/Episcopalian, mostly). They think their religions mandate that they do good for other people (and respect other people's choices...) . "Religious" people on the right? Not so much.
Oh, and, of course, they believe as much as I do in the separation of church and state.
A lot of the younger generation in my family are left leaning Christians (myself included), and these videos are breath of fresh air from what we had to grow up around.
I want to say that the future of America's religious war is looking hopeful once the boomer gen fades out, but that might be wishful thinking
