The changes from the ID3 make a massive difference….inside and out.
Your style of reviews/presentation is the best, 100% mea gusta;)
My style of answering comments still needs some work. 😅 Thanks for the kind words!
Great details on the outside and inside of the car. Did I miss something, or is the Gear leaver a complete new design? Kinda Cool.
The little cutout in the Storage box amazes me, you could charge your phone with a cable and not damage the cable while you do that. Someone really thought about it ;)
Do you like all these Swipe controls? I think they are a little too much in use.
Great video as usual :D
thanks! Well, I don't mind the swipe controls, it's just that those surfaces are full of fingerprints and smudges in no time...
Shrugging your feet before getting in the car. You are a man.. Not everyone does it, I appreciate you bro. 👍
Haha, made me laugh as I do that and thought myself a geek for it.
Thanks! I got some hate comments a few months ago for not doing it while having dirty feet. So I guess my YT community is making me a better man! 😄
One thing i didn't like when I test drove it was the seating position, felt too much like driving a van with the flat seats and the upright seating position.
Otherwise love the bronze colouring.
Ah I never felt that, guess I'm used to worse seats :).
Finally getting my Cupra in two weeks after waiting since late December.
Congrats! It's a fun little car. 👌
1:58 it's 7 seconds from 0-100kmh in this case because of the 77kwh battery, it's 6,6 seconds with the 58kwh battery
You go slower but further. Or the other way around. 👌😄
Hey, thank you for the great video. I‘m also Cupra Born owner with 58 kWh. Do you know how can I activate the range monitor on the small display? I mean on the right side from speedometer. Thank you in advice.
Hi Fuad, thanks! Well, I'd like to go and check how to do it, but I don't have the car anymore. Hope you can find it somewhere else!
Great video!
🙏🙏🙏 thanks!
The sunglasses transition!
Haha, glad you noticed! ✌️😄
Looking at that vehicle I see a lot of the BMW i3 inspiration been used .
Lots of 58kwh versions in UK. 77kwh seems to be factory order only.
Yet imo that big battery makes all the difference. But it’s a pricy little fella in this spec.
For those not enamored with the VW ID platform. I have some bad news ( or good if you like it ). Ford will also be using it in future
Good review 👍. One question, does it have blind spot monitoring signal on the mirrors ?
Yes with the Pilot pack at extra cost.
@R B - thanks for answering!
@Three Cat thanks!
I do not think you get the 231 Hp in this video since the 77kwh battery only has e-boost function when battery is over 70% (without e-boost its 204hp) charged and I think the 77Kwh has 7.0s 0-100 with e-boost. The 58Kwh with e-boost has 6.6 0-100 and its e-boost function (the extra 30 hp) is on from 55% battery and above.
Some volkswagen ID similarities on the dashboard
definitely!
3:36 with 19,6kWh/100km consumption the range of a 77kWh battery is only 392kms 🤨
Only?
392km when you drive the battery to zero. 340km is realistic range.
Do all the type of Seats have the massage function? Or just the expensive ones?
No it's an option that comes with the Dinamica seats. With those you also get the seat heating!
@@johnnypovdrives snel bellen dan om die optie toch te nemen 😅
@@CROSSERKE56 doen! 😄
Johnny! Do you know a channel named Car Stan? Also a Belgian car UA-camr and he is doing almost EXACTLY the same as what you’re doing… someone is stealing your signature style man! Cheers, de Rudi
Hey Rudi. Yes, I know him... and you're not even the first one that sent me this channel. There isn't much I can do about that I'm afraid. People just prefer to copy something that already works instead of creating their own concept. Sad, but what can you do... 🤷♂️ Thanks for letting me know!
Really like your reviews, please tell me, do you rent these cars? OR you have references? OR friends who give you a car for few hours? 🤔🧐
Ziet er veel beter uit dan de VW die van dezelfde band rolt. Maar de geluiden wanneer je je hand over de oppervlakken wrijft stellen me teleur 🤣
Hard. Plastic. 😄
Despite of having a start button we do have a butt on feature. :p
it's called evolution 🍑
Ahh, so refreshing to have a well-tied-up, informative review WITHOUT grandma screaming(carwow) or other "elaborated opinion" voices.
It's a shame the car doesn't go faster than 160km/h. If Hyundai can push out an Ioniq 5 with 185 top speed why VW guys can't?
Thanks! Glad to read someone likes the no-nonsense approach, I'm getting a lot of comments of people who hate the fact I don't talk. 😄
IMO B is NOT one pedal driving because the car won't brake to 0 km/h. Right?
It just comes to a complete stop without creep function, so I guess you're wrong (didn't test it with the Born, but with a ton of other EVs).
@@johnnypovdrives but the Born WON'T stop completely. You can't disable creeping mode. None of the VW-BEVs does.
@@Andi_mit_E Really? I had no idea! I'll make sure to test it next time I drive one. Thanks for the extra info!
is it 60k worth of hot hatch?
No, but when you add 'EV' to that title, it suddenly is! ✨😁
is er een volvo review op komst?
Zowel C40 Recharge Twin Engine als XC40 Recharge P8 😁, welke wil je eerst zien? (beide reviews zullen nog wel paar weken duren vooraleer ze online staan)
@@johnnypovdrives XC40 !
Nice car but flawed with touch controls inside. This is really dangerous to use on the go. Plus, some buttons are not even illuminated in the cabin (volume and heat control).

Bro it’s like id3
It is 🤫
still the dashboard software is not the best these days same as the id 3 really remarkable its slow and not always working properly
True!
The sensor on the driver's seat is one of the most frustrating things in a car. If you even slighlty move your ass when parking for example, you'll experience an instant engine shut off and a forced emergency braking.
Why should we buy a car from Cupra, a Sport Car Manufacturer when it is limited to 169km/h?
As far as I know the 77kWh version is only a 4 seater due to the weight of the battery
Didn't know that, thanks for the extra info!
Do you mean 77 kWh?
🙏 yesss!
Lol.the id.3s cousin
250km en réalité comme toutes les autres VE

@@johnnypovdrives
Merci beaucoup du renseignement 👍😉
Bro 77kW =103hp not 231hp
That’s right. But this is kWh so it has nothing to do with hp ✌️😁
@@johnnypovdrives exactly! In your headline you have wrongly 77kw when it should be 77kwh! One letter makes a big difference.
@@nicolaspeart3910 Thanks for letting me know Nicolas, I see what happened, it was correct in the English version but said Kw in all translated versions. Changed it! 👊
Deutscher Titel, english video 😆
Great looking car compared to the ID3, however, both have the same cheap hard plastic interior and.. rear drum brakes! The software is poor and the touch/swipe controls are awful.
… but the CUPRA is the better one ✌️😄
Rear drum brakes are perfectly fine on EVs.
Franchement elle fait pas du tout rêver jamais pour moi c'est d'une tristesse
The front is hideous.
EV's are still in infancy phase basically - but yeah, they need to start somewhere and this Born seems decemt-ish. I'd say it will take another 10 to 15 years for EV's to mature.
I have the same feeling, range starts to be ok. My guess is I'm going EV in about 4 years :).
Can't you speak in your videos?..
Can't you go to one of the 1000 UA-cam channels that do speaking car reviews? ✌️😁
If you drive it 80kmh only maybe it will have 450km range and after few years when batteries die prepare 15000-20000 euro for new ones and electricity especially on chargers are not cheap so
For the BMW i3, which is one of the first ev and built since 2013, BMW gives you 8 years and/or 160.000km warranty one the battery (that it has still over 70% capacity). There are only a handful cases worldwide, where this warranty was needed. Most cars have over 80% capacitiy way up over 200 000 km and there are several with over 1 000 000 km and still running strong. The total battery (for the biggest 42kWh) would cost 12 000 € to replace, but it consists of 8 moduls. So even if you have a problem, to replace one or 2 moduls should be sufficent.
EV's are by far the cheapest cars to run. nearly no need for maintenance and way fewer parts that can fail. The batteries are not nearly as weak as many people fear. And even with the high electricity costs on speed chargers, EV are still cheaper. If you load at home or with solar, they become super cheap to drive.
@@ma_nu most of ev. cars die after they sre close too 200000km , Tesla have big problems with that so BMW which are known as unreliable car maker will have it too
@@Mr11ESSE111 Except they don't and they have a 100,000 mile warranty.
@@entropy5431 so if they have 100000mile warranty that means you have big chance they will die after that like most die
@@Mr11ESSE111 There are exceptions but most ICE cars are scrapped at 10 years or 100,000 miles any way and if not are worth peanuts. BMW in particular are getting fantastic results from their batteries and we have 9 year old cars to check.
Nice video dude! But its a shitty car 😓
Totally a rebaged Chevy bolt ev
What kind of moron are you? This car has nothing to do with a Bolt.
Oh my, they sure look alike, didn't even know they made that! But has the Volkswagen Group any business with the GM group? I don't think so.
Actually it’s a rebadged VW ID car Chevy can only wish to build cars like this lol
Are you crazy? Adjusting the steering wheel while driving. 🤦♂️
performed on an empty road and conducted by an experienced driver, small chance the steering wheel is coming of. But yes I'm living on the edge there. BTW: love your user name in combination with your comment! 😉
🤣🤣 experienced driver so can adjust the steering wheel while driving. Absolute 💩. An experience driver has their seating position steering wheel position mirror position all adjusted before a journey.
@@douglasmcarthur1643 exactly. That's what experience teaches him.
