    Excellent video! I have Gilles rear sets on my 22 MT-09 and love the their quality. Wanted to get an opinion on the chain adjusters before ordering and your video answered all my questions and explained how they work very well. Thank You 🙏

    So two years later, are you still using these? I might get a set for my K5 GSXR, they would go nice with my captive spacers and also the bling factor is nice lol

      Yup still using them - have to change the rear often kn my track bike and it makes the job a lot easier

    Good video. Gilles tooling makes quality products. I bought these AXB adjusters two years ago. And, I don't like them and they arent any better than the stock blocks. Too much time to adjust and I did like you threw out the cheap stickers. For the life of me, why can't Gilles make adjusters with the markings like LighTech or TWM? Smh.

    • @MonoMoto
      @MonoMoto  2 місяці тому +1

      Agreed some machined markings would be nice !
      These blocks work for me well as I usually adjust the chain once and then I can leave them there for many tire changes on the track and it makes sure the blocks always stay in the same spot which OEM blocks don't do.
      the lightech one is nicer but you also pay the price for it :)

    On my model the the axle nut is on the left side of the swingarm , however I flipped my
    Axle so the axle nut it’s on the right side of my bike just like you have yours .
    So my question is can these adjusters be flipped so the left is on the right and the right one is on the left ?

      I don’t know what bike you own but I’d not switch sides as the engineers might have picked a side on purpose .

    Those look nice 👌🏻 100% ordering some this season. Can I ask, when you lower the bike off the stand does slack value change much?
    I’ve always done my chain while on the stand. But it can be a real pain in the ass as I work on my bike in the street. Hard to find a level surface. Bike stand would solve this issue 😂

      There might be a minimal change but the pressure on the suspension should be the same. The tire is barely 1" off the floor . But this is a good question. Will check next time if I can measure a difference .

    Nice Vid, nice bike! I’ll order one of these AXBs myself, chain adjustments and axle fit after tyre change on a CBR takes forever 😂

      Yes , this is a timesaver and it looks good on top of that :)

    Do you tighten the axle nut up against the adjuster block or is there a washer between the axle nut and adjuster block?

    • @MonoMoto
      @MonoMoto  Рік тому

      I use the oem washer against the Gilles axel block

    To adjust the chain, does the axle nut need to be loosened with these adjusters?

    What would be the difference between the AXB and the TCA, they look functionally the same

    • @MonoMoto
      @MonoMoto  3 роки тому +1

      The TCA is first probably twice the weight. The pros for it are : it has integrated paddock stand hooks and the chain adjustment is done through little gears , which might come handy if you do constantly adjust your chain.

    • @georgiosphilos2146

      I don't need to adjust my chain very often so it should be fine. But when you adjust the chain, I assume you only need an Allen and rotate the screw, right? The nut should not be touched correct?

    • @MonoMoto
      @MonoMoto  3 роки тому

      the nut is to lock the screw in place so it doesn't move when you are riding . Watch the full video I'm showing how to use it :)

    Observation looking at the same idea for dirt bikes from another company probably a patet issue but WAY better and only $35! There is a hex section machined onto the threaded part otherwise the same so NOW you done need silly allen you simply turn the hex much more pracical IMHO than little holes in the captive head...other way still has captive head in slot just the same just has hex adjuster on other side of block ....better and they manage to make a profit selling for $35 a pair for basically the identical thing unfortunately I only see motocross bikes not sport bikes....just makes me think Giles is price GOUGING....but hey if you love it you love it who am I ....I just refuse personally

    IMHO ridiculously overpriced for what it is....at that price? I would expect magnesium with titanium screw AND nut....just saying there are much cheaper alternatives idk if they are clones or if this is an old idea etc idk....just saying

    • @MonoMoto
      @MonoMoto  8 місяців тому

      Yes these parts are expensive but keep in mind the research and testing work needed + simply assuring the quality. This holds the axel of 200+ HP bikes and I certainly don't want to safe a few $ and have it break some day while riding 170mph. You always get what you pay for and with safety items like anything that keeps the wheels on your machine I personally don't want to safe money, but hey everyone is free to do what they like to do :)
