This video really helped me alot! I love Ponytail Palms I'm with you they are just exotic, beautiful plants! And that hair I love it! 😊 But I picked up a little one that has 7 little plants in it? I need help with this one bad! It came in a 3 1/2 - 4" pot and had 7 little trunks in it. I don't know how to repot it or what kind of pot to even use. Do I take them apart or leave them together? I've had it for about 3 months now and they are getting big so it's about time for a new pot. If you would like to give me any advice I would appreciate it!! I want to do everything I can to help this plant grow big and beautiful like yours! I'm so glad I came across your channel and to be following you! Can't wait to see more videos! 💚🪴
Hi there! I would get 8" terracotta pot and center your pony in it. Use our well draining potting mix. Make sure to plant her at the same depth she is growing in existing pot ( don't plunge trunk under soil). Also, Pony tails can grow pot bound but to gain size a bigger pot is better and helps with overall health/ nutrient uptake. Hope this helps ! 😀🪴
I am so impressed with your videos, I have been attempting to create a indoor garden in my very light bright but small enclosed lanaii here in the Florida central Tampa area. I wrote you about one catastrophe which was my topiary gardenia which was outdoors in my south facing garden, but I have begun accumulating wonderful beautiful plants that I have been rescuing from Lowe’s clearance rack. My ponytail palm is small, about 9” top to bottom and seems to be route bound but looks wonderful and happy. Should I repot?? Love, love, love your videos. I’m a new but passionate fan! Thanks so much for your time and devotion to all these amazing botanicals!!!! ❤
You are most welcome Dee! I am so glad you are enjoying your plants. On the pony tail, if you picked her up on clearnace, I would recommend giving her a light spray of neem oil, just to make sure she did not pick up any pests ( sometimes clearance plants have illness/ sometimes not). Pony's can stay root bound and still groe, but if she is really packed up with roots, up-potting is recommended. Just use our soil blend and you should be good to go! 😀 🪴
I don't know if my ponytail palm is supposed to have a hollow type of hole like a core in the trunk at the very top. I have been researching for an hour and there's nothing
@@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN I called my nursery yesterday he said he's been seeing a lot of the holes the hole is not on the trunk it's not on the bottom it's literally at the very top of the trunk underneath of the Palm leaves or prawns or whatever they are. I just don't understand it's so bizarre because the hole is rock hard. I honestly thought that there would be flowers coming out of it as dumb as that sounds
Oh wait, you may be onto something, this is the time of year that pony tail likes to bloom ( from the top crownshaft) . How big/old is your ponytail? 😀🪴

Hi there, no, I do not think there should be a hole. Can you describe it a bit more? Does it look like mechanical damage ?😀🪴
