Fantastic Nico, although the weather looks better in the video 🤣 hardcore midges still flying and biting in that rain 😮 thank Deborah for me for the soup, delicious 👍
What surprised me was the clothing required to comfortably fish and travel that area.....It was also a surprise to sea those large tankers in such close proximity!!😎
Well done for getting out. If you've handled Mackerel they won't survive the return to the sea, according to World of Seafishing & others, but not half bad on a pizza.
British Sea fishing website also says its a myth. "There is an urban myth that once mackerel have been handled by humans they lose the protective coating on their scales and will be destined to die through disease, even if they initially swim off. This is used by people to justify taking excessive numbers of mackerel from the sea. Experiments by marine fisheries scientists have involved handling mackerel to tag them and these fish have been successfully recaptured many miles from where they were originally caught, proving that mackerel which have been handled can continue to live and hunt" Heard both sides of the argument.. Who knows right?
@@DundeeSteve that's encouraging. I only release if I can wiggle them off the hook without handling. I generally change fishing tactics to reduce catching them. I'd rarely come home with more than 20.

Awesome Nico today I caught my first fish on my kayak. They were 3 mackerel.
Brilliant as ever Nic 👍
Great video, Nico!! I have to say it does look quite damp and cold out there!
Some nice action on a rainy day, great stuff out there.
Tu as le même beaux temps que quand France 😉
Good angling in tough conditions. Glad I missed the midges.
Muito bom amigo, excelente pescaria 👏
looks like you had a good day my friend
"this is summer by the way"...🤣🤣🤣
You can tell because the rain is slightly warmer 🤣
Definitely need to get up there
I sometimes wonder if the fish know they've been caught for food, or do they think that we're just stealing thier breakfast?
👍
