- Patrick Analo, Nairobi County's chief officer, Urban and Planning, has stated that the plan to beautify Nairobi is an ongoing project aimed at bringing new life into the city and restoring the city's past glory.
Walking in some streets was a total headache to a point that I completely avoided them altogether. Alafu ukijaribu kupita across someone's merchandise (for example if you're trying to get to the other side of the street) where there's no clear way through, utapata matusi, yet ni barabara. So I support this move 100%.
Yeah, this is the way forward. I love it.
Says someone living in diaspora
@RobertOburu-l1i not necessarily diaspora....he or she can be local just not in the same business sphere. Nairobi county needs taxes from the local businesses... They need to find a way to come up.with solutions together. Politicians don't know shit besides only asking for taxes and eating them
This is well overdue. I visited Nairobi after many years and was shocked seeing the horrible filthy walk ways and pavements full of hawkers. I wondered aloud what happened to the cool city I once knew. We walked freely and actually enjoyed the CBD then. Now, they should organise those matatus - properly stages should be for pick ups only and not endless queues of mini buses going no where. Whoever is doing the clean up, keep up the good work.
A good start and a step in the right direction. We MUST have order in the cbd. Kudos 👏
Shida yetu wakenya ni kucomplain. A city in a regional economic giant should not look like 18th century England with its filth and cholera outbreaks. Those overhead signages we don't look at them. People know the shops they are going to. Maximize on online marketing that prioritizes giving directions to your shop. There's a reason why we have street names. Maybe every shop in Nairobi should have numbers so say Kids Shop 15 Wabera Street and the likes. I hope Mombasa Governor is watching. Mombasa is wallowing in filth, disorder and raw sewage. Kudos Nairobi for this!
Mimi sijui hayo maduka
U heard the shop owners only complaining about how customers left , none even thought of the pain those customers endure to come to those shops , the easy option is the county government to give numbers to all the buildings in Nairobi , then it will be easy to just use the numbers for customers to find the direction .
@@heroebookfair for real we act retarded at times. Yaani tukae na uchafu left right and centre ju ya hustle. Walked addresses online na PINs. We will locate the shops.
@@filbao8113 Utajifunza.
Signage should have been left alone. They are not for people "who know where the shops are"... is the point. It's stupid
Great job chief officer urban planning Mr Patrick Analo 👏
Thankyou this was something I felt needed doing when i was in Nairobi the last time i was appalled at the look of CBD I welcome this move keep improving for goodness sake we cant have other African countries doing better than us we have been leading we must always strive to excel and be bold.
Change is unconfortable. Good job
Your a hero bwana and your team . Restore Nairobi back to its glory days👌🏿
Sakaja should stand firm on his orders coz there’s no backing down on this issue! Additionally, most walkways need to be repaired and new ones built where they’re needed but nonexistent! The roads are not looking good either so should be rebuilt using concrete for utmost durability! If Sakaja does all these things while keeping the city clean then Nairobi would have regained its “green city under the sun” status!
This gentleman is a good reporter he's doing a commendable job
ON THAT ONE I SUPPORT YOU 100%.NAIROBI MUST BE CLEAN LIKE JOMO'S TIME.PERIOD.
Very Good ,the city should be clean
The formerly cleanest town in Kenya has been colonised by hawkers. Kiambu county government should restore the glory of Thika town.
People do NOT "colonise" their own land. Be careful of the words that you use. They can have problematic implications.
@@paulirving2986 hijacked by hawkers 😂
@@paulirving2986 if you allow people to do as they want they grow horns and think they are entitled
@@paulirving2986 It is a fact that roads & walkways in thika town have been hijacked by vendors who bully pedestrians & motorists with impunity. Thika doesn't belong to hawkers! Thika ni ya sisi wote!
@tekkeneakelvin3455 "Harkers", are they not Kenyans? Are they not citizens? Is Kenya not their ancestors' land?
Good job Sakaja, I like it!!
Mosira to the world
Mosiria good job😊😊😊
sign removal good job, loud music should be taken down too
And garbage collection
Definitely on the right track. Kudos. Now, kindly sort out the mess at the foot bridges.
Always complaining let Nairobi be the city we know clean and accessible, kudos to county government
Good man. Keep it up. Walk the walk !!
This change is good for nairobi
Nairobi is very clean and easy to walk. Watu wapeleke ujinga mitaani kwao. If you have no official business in the city toa jam
Sasa nakuja kutembea Nairobi 😂❤
Kabisa. Hii mambo ya kumaliza shule kitu ya kwanza ni kukuja kuhawk Nairobi iishe. Tengeneza biashara mtaani hadi siku moja ufike bei ya kuafford CBD. Halafu ladies please mnaweza nunua nguo zenyu siku zingine, sio mkitoka job ndio unataka kupima tights, sijui bra. Good riddance and all the best in your future endeavors.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼wapeleke huuuukoo!!!ama walipe rent kwa maduka
Great Job Pato
well done report
Good move ,At least someone is doing their job...Nairobi is a beautiful city, but the filth really makes it something u DNT want to go through..Keep up the good job

Kazi safi Super Governor Sakaja. Ngumi ni Mbwegze!
Nairobi has to be clean in all means.....and those littering all over should be held accountable,
The way forward.

Kazi safi sakaja,
Thank you, great job 👏🏼 ❤
Awesome work
Goeferey Mosiria good work this thing should continue we need a cleaner and neat city
Good work, sai tao inakaa smart unlike before
The city of Nairobi is have to be clean. Good work
a clean city with starving people nobody wants to hawk they are forced ur out touch
Amazing work done by Zakaja
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was long overdue. Now deal with the matatu cartels, put bins on every street, plant more trees. Then move to residential areas and do the same. We need proper bus stops, proper markets, not makeshift vibandas, proper walkways and parks within a walking distance. There's space for it.
end matatu culture, and have normal busses
I support the move, this has been a long awaited move ever since the current county government took the office.
CBD should be orderly arranged, clean and proper security to the people.
I wish the government could come up with better ways of waste management and making individuals responsible for their own waste. Why should waste be dumped in drainages
I think we should also help the government as a people. We need to first change how we think. People literally throw waste anyhow and I think they don't do that in their homes. How about the new education system start teaching the new generation waste disposal (renewable and non-renewable waste) and its benefits. In a couple of years to come, littering will be history 🤔
Kudos my country kenya,, enyewe walking Nairobi was so hectic
They should make standards of marketing boards to every business in a building
Good job sir
Nairobi looks the same if not worse today. Am a marketer and i walks and travel across the city everyday day and haven't seen any change. Potholes, sewers flowing and dirt scattered everywhere. THIS IS A PAID PR BY NAIROBI COUNTY GOVERNMENT
The hawkers? Of course they didn't say it is now the cleanest. They clearly said they are *in the process* of clearing and cleaning.
The pavements will be next
Go Meggg!!!!😍😍😍😍
Great job bwana Sakaja, Mosiria and Analo
That a good move
Good job❤❤❤
Great job
As much as we want them to make their daily bread but weeee some are very rude and there's no space for pedestrians
Matusi nayo walibalikiwa nayo,,,,wee!!!
Very correct.
there earning there daily bread u have a good job this Ur arrogance
This is very unfair that citizen tv can do this segment without mentioning the man we see working day and night MR GEOFFREY MOSIRIA. THIS PURE BIAS
True. I feel like there's bad faith between Sakaja and Mosiria
Very bad, wrong person taking a credit on someone's sweat
Tell them to do something about Eastleigh hawkers
MOSIRIA MOSIRIA IS THE GUY DOING THE WORK!!! not those sitted in offices!!! Citizen TV you should be ashamed of yourselves!!! Learn to give credit where it is due!!! We dont need your paid PR
If you listen carefully to this audio the voice over is coming on the left side only and not both speakers. This is brought about by one reason: the editor is not keen on his/her work.
No excuses.
Mlisema hamtapea this reporter a good recorder... His VOs sound like they were recorded by a tecno
Hii story ya billboards Ni funny sana. Hakuna mtu anaona inaweza angukia mtu. Wakiweka, they don't maintain, it rusts it might fall on someone. Zitolewe zote. They go advertise online wapeane directions huko.
Yeah most buildings have names...huyo mama aingie google maps kuweka biz yake
Great job!
good job county government. Watu waweke miji yao safi and organized. wakenya tuko na shida za kujiekelea. There has to be order.
Kudos supper governor!!!!!!atleast we can walk in the cbd without fear 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Rwanda kigali is what we want
Good job. Let's give credit where it is due. Order has a lot more advantages than disorder! Adjust!
Marikiti, railways, easy coach,
River road , otc area, Eastleigh it's just so crazy to make ones way not only by car but by foot as well
I hope this is a long term change
Backwards never
Nairobi has really lost it's glory
Can matatus be removed from CBD as well noisy touts, noisy matatus very few are well organized like Super Metro, ROG
Great move💯
FINALLY!!
Good!
Can it please last. What a chaotic city it was and the insults we got from those women hawkers whenever it rained and you tried to walk on the corridors.
The back streets should be cleaned, lighted, and well organised
Kenya is renowned to have one of the WORST food safety standards in the East African region... it's time for Action Citizens.
The hawkers are still on the roads, especially Accra, Tom Mboya etc.
River road in a mess
Majority of hawkers are from Burundi and congo
@@dianakiki533 Foreigners walk from place to place, and are rarely disrespectful. Those causing the mess are locals.
MLISEMA HAMTANUNUA CAMERA MZURI NYINYI CITIZEN
Good job 👍
The way to go
Waturudishie ile ya SABINA JOY 😂😂 I over heard my husband saying anapotea sana tangu itolewe
😂😂😂😂

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Iyo signboard ya Sabina happiness ilitolewa
Good move🎉❤
Imagine it was 2008 or 2009 when did something about smoking cigarettes. This is a huge step forward! Not just the front street attack the side streets and back streets.
Good work Sakaja for cleaning the City...Unapiga kazi Saanah...Next kuja county yetu ikue Gavana
Uniform overhead signage and then company sign/logo kwa mlango will be beautiful and identifiable. The city was quite beautiful pre 1990’s. It is possible to return CBD’s beauty and cleanliness.
Good job NCC
If you need a town country to use as your benchmark use Kigali, Rwanda.
A CITY FOR EVERYONE NOT JUST HAWKERS,
Thank God, going to Cbd was such a stressful thing for real, no where to walk
Go marikiti area ,, country bus,, easy coach bus station muthurwa start with those area,, final issue oder to food mboga supplies those lories bringing mboga waru etc to be highly hygienic then face of nrb will be accepted,,
Bold move, we must live in order like civilized people
Good way to go
The city should be clean and orderly.
And as the owners repaint their buildings, the county should also repaint all the Zebra crossings where pedestrians can pass freely without competing with cars on the roads.
you music is above your voice overs... nipeeni kazi ya sound
Love it
It's about time. The county needs to create clean markets away from CBD. Tuache uchafu. Halafu hawkers needs to unite and improve security to attract more customers.
Good job mhesh..
But the city is so dirty despite them moving them out. Ministry of environment should come up with regulations.Lets set one Saturday in a month to clean up like Rwanda. Social responsibility rules to that if you are selling in a place all around outside your shop should be clean so as busses packed. They should introduce dirting up place tax or payment to curb the dirt and enhance personal responsibility
Rwanda is on another level ,, I hope that could be established here
Everyone criticizing hawkers has a good job we can't all be sakaja we are a poor country let people work
Where in the middle of the street
Good job County government. We must have our city back. On behalf of pedestrians, please repair the walk ways, make them level. Where they are non existent, please install. Mawe na mashimo kwa sidewalks are completely unacceptable. It's a good start, so as the landlords do their job, roads na sidewalks ni kazi ya county. Something else, kama Eastleigh na kwingineko, once county government has swept and cleaned up, those operating there should be told to ensure their space remains clean otherwise, waondoke. I saw this in Uganda and l was very impressed. Hakuna keratasi, chupa, banana peels etc where they are operating. Everyone had a small black bag ya takataka yake. Brilliant. It is doable. Wakenya, ni nini na uchafu? This must change. I have waited all my life to see a clean Nairobi and my dream is coming true slowly but surely.
Now go and clean up muthurwa market tusihikwe na cholera the gabbage has been piling up for more than ayear
Change is hard but necessary
This is a good move. We have to abide by the law. The city looks clean
Good job to everyone involved trying to bring back order in CBD expecially Geoffrey Mosiria.
Next is Boda Boda idle taxis..mkototeni..cart pushers and matatu
That was long overdue and is actually below bare minimum expectation.
They should not expect to be applauded for delivering so little so late.
Nairobi looks better at night because the streets are quieter and less occupied.
Congratulations Nairobi city,it's looks very well organised.
No one looks at those signs let's be serious... Everyone knows where they are going when they get to town to a specific shop.
Not realy..tourists?
Totally agree, I have never looked at those unsightly signs if I was looking for a particular business. But I’m sorry to say, this is only a temporary change. Give it six months, it will be back to business as usual.
Says a local. Tourists do. Un ugly city deters people.
