I'm so glad that AG was able to seat you with your friends for the breakfast! And so glad that you liked the Summer that they picked out for you. I think you did a great job putting on her glasses. I always have to open them a little bit wider than they naturally want to bend in order to place them into the wig and that seems to hold them on pretty well. But if I tip a doll over, her glasses are definitely going to fall out. Just the nature of the beast. I think that Care Bear outfit looks so much like the one from her collection and you already own it. :) Perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! The trip to the Chicago store was a good experience for me. I really needed it. When I went to move Summer from taking some photos with her glasses on, they wanted to fall off. I have to remember to grab them so that they don't get scratched!

I've heard that many people do not like the new boxes, but they say they are better for the environment, so maybe they can make a compromise somehow. I totally understand wanting to see the doll you buy though. I think all of Summer's outfits are super cute. Glad you got to get her! I may add her to my collection in a few months.
Thank you! I think that the NRFB collectors like to see their dolls without having to remove the lids. The lids are a great way to keep dust off of the dolls. I have made a lot of changes for the environment, but I still want the window to see my doll if I am in the store. They can use the full lids for those dolls that are shipped out. They could also package the dolls like Our Generation does. I hope to see you add her to your collection. She is very pretty!
You did get a pretty one! I am on the fence about her, since I am overstocked with dolls and have to pay in Canadian dollars. I would only get her in a year or more when she goes on sale. However, your shot of her at the end redressed and looking off into the distance was just adorable.
She is very cute do you think she is worth buying I got my Rapunzel doll sent to me here in New Zealand and I just lover her and I also got the 125 truly me ballet set coming soon.
I do think that she is worth getting. I really like the sweet look that she has. Her wig is very pretty with the color and the pink in it. That is awesome that you were able to add Rapunzel and the ballet set. I love that set.
Interesting video, thank you. I liked the new Care Bear outfit on Summer. I’m not sure if you meant it that way, but your description of your interactions with the AG staff in Chicago came off as pretty Karen-like, I didn’t see you that way before so I’m rather surprised. I’m going to trust that you were polite with the staff at AG when you requested to be reseated.
I was polite and thankful. I asked to speak with someone to explain my situation. I wanted to give credit in the video to the American Girl staff for helping me. The experience could have been a very sad one for me. I was holding back tears when I asked to speak with someone.
I do think we need to start being willing to make sacrifices when it comes to companies becoming more green. I think I'm very disappointed with how many adult collectors aren't recognizing that we need to step up when it comes to that and recognize that we are already opening these boxes and that it doesn't hurt us to continue doing that as long as American girl is allowing it. I don't think we need the windows the original boxes did not have Windows. I'm really happy to finally come across somebody that has a positive opinion of summer though. It's been really disappointing to listen to the adult community be really harsh on this doll when she embodies so much of who I am and who a lot of adult collectors are. I love the bright and cheerful colors so it's nice to have another person who enjoys summer for everything including her bright colors❤
American Girl has not always allowed me to open their doll boxes when I have been in the store. A sales lady threatened to call the police on me one time when I was picking out my doll. I was very uncomfortable being spoken to like that during what should have been a happy purchase for me. That is why I still want the plastic window to see the dolls. I do not mind any of the other changes in their packaging. Our Generation does not use a plastic window on their boxes. I can see see the doll's face and look for any issues. Maybe AG should change to that type of packaging. I am glad that you like Summer and her collection too. I love the pastels and her pets. I know many people like us that like Summer.
Thank you. The dolls are expensive. I wish that they were less expensive. Sometimes I have been able to find them at the thrift store or at doll shows for less money. It is fun buying them new too. I like buying them both ways.
