Another event designer @uptownevents said something that I have never forgotten that made so much sense. She said balloon arrangements are not a necessity, they’re a luxury so never feel obligated to lower your price by the client attempting to guilt you. That was a great tip that sticks with me 🥰
@@YesEventDecor a reason I don't usually is you either have to deal with competitive pricing if it's thrown out there OR people get all judgy and make you feel bad about your prices.♡
Thank you sooo much this has been so helpful!! I was spot on with some but I realized I’ve been underpricing myself on others too!! 😔 But it’s so hard to know when other decorators/planners don’t want to share pricing. So thank you soo much!! ❤️🤗
Thanks for this video! I was giving my service for free while I was practicing but now I’m charging and now nobody wants to pay. But I learned the lesson 😢
Please more videos like this. The first and 2nd video were great! You are truly a blessing. I’m just starting off in event decorating and it’s been confusing on how to charge people. You break it down very well to understand. I appreciate all your and thank God I came across your channel. You are most certainly a blessing.
The first three examples are DEFINITELY NOT $500 creations. The arch with draping and florals could be $500 but it depends on whether they included the cost of the pipe and drape stand and the cost of transport, set-up and breakdown. The round backdrop with balloon garland only could also be $500 depending on what materials are used for the backdrop. The last balloon arch backdrop is DEFINITELY NOT a $500 creation. I would guess $1,500 with silk florals and live florals, you're probably at the $2,500 price point. I LOVE to see more videos like this Ms. Lonielle. You are AMAZINGILY talented! I can't wait to see your circle arch creation.
Great video😀, been doing balloon decor for a couple years now off and on. Pricing has always been my issue. I have finally set some pricing and I try to stay on point. I sometimes have to turn down jobs because of budget. I am happy to see that my pricing is on Target. I have also realize the area I service sometimes have limited my pricing. These kinds of video are very helpful, keep up the great work!
I agree with you prices because it takes a lot of time just blowing up the balloons and delivering and putting together. More videos like this would be great 😊
That’s beautiful , yes I’ve done a circle back drop hoop before . It was my 2nd time using it . It wasn’t as full as that one you just showed but the client was happy . I charged $350 plus delivery and pick up . I collaborated with another young lady . I just prayed what’s for me is for me and so happens the lady asked , do you have charger plates? and centerpieces I can rent ? 🤩yes I do lol so I end up renting them for $1 each for a party of 60 , and charged her 5 bucks for the trumpet vase 🤷🏽♀️, I’m not really new to decorating but I’m new to the business side of things . It’s a struggle 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ awesome video 😍😍😍
Thanks for the video. I loose so many clients because they do not wanna pay $400 or $500 for this kind of garlands you showed. I can't do cheaper and I don't do expensive. I'm confident in what I'm doing. Why would I charge less than that price. Why would I get paid $13 if the minimum is $15 right. Then they should not plan anything like this. They have to be ready to pay for their party. Like they pay for the restaurant and food they reserve. This is so frustrating. People are not aware of garland prices and wonder why it's that expensive. What is the best thing to doin this case ? Thanks hun
I understand. It is frustrating to deal with clients that undervalue your work. I agree that you shouldn’t lower your prices. Keep practicing, keep posting your work, and eventually you will start attracting the clients you want.
Thanks so much for some great information. Can you do more looks on a $500 backdrop and Balloon garland. Would love to see how you can take $700 and make it a $500 look. From this to that! Thanks!

Thank you so much for this great video. I was on point with the different decorations that you showed but of course still learning. The last picture with the balloon circle I have done two of them for mockups and added to my channel but I would charge at least 650.00 the time it took was a lot from the blowing up to adding them to the stand etc...or may charge more with the flowers and the sign. Yes, keep these type of videos coming I really enjoy watching and learning from them. Have a blessed day.
@@YesEventDecor The first one I ever did it took me about 3 to 4 hrs because I did not really know what I was doing...the second time it took about 2 1/2 no more than 3 hrs including blowing up the balloons and adding them to the stand. I'm planning my daughter's 9th birthday and I've always spent around 1500-2k on her parties. I was determined to do her next birthday at totalling $500 but hahaha I learned shortly it's almost impossible for her rose gold floral theme

Hi there! Now I offer online courses and live sessions to help you price your decorations. Here’s a link to the courses I have so far - www.yeseventdecor.com/classes-courses. Thanks!
Great video as always! I love your videos and appreciate all that you do and the information that you share with us. I was wondering if you could please show us more examples of set-ups of three levels of design and how they would be charged from least expensive, perhaps using dollar tree items, to moderately expensive and of course lux designs. Do you think it would it be a good idea to show pictures, along with the cost of each to the client? Also, how do you charge the client for the time involved, both behind the scene and on sight? As well as paying your assistants? Thank you again for all your help.
Love all your videos! 😍👏🏾 Can you make a video that will tell how much you pay your workers? It’s not easy to figure out how much someone should get paid to work an event. Thanks 😍🎈
@yesdecoreandmore, When you are working on a budget, how do you determine what your fees and labor price will be for that particular budget, or how should you handle that
Love this episode, this is very helpful! I recently doubted my pricing but then I began to add up the cost of my materials and realized it was fair because I use higher quality stuff. Thank you for your mentoring!
Clients ain’t gonna hear that they want lux balloons on a $1 tree budget and this is when they start telling you they can order the balloons kits off Amazon 🤦🏽♀️
This when you say to the client that I am not able to meet your request and I wish you well with finding someone who can accommodate your request. Once I have exhausted all options to propose what service can be provided within their budget. I will keep it moving. I know my worth and I am worth the compensation.
The stand goes for about $200 i seen people charge $800-1k for the balloon wreath because of the balloon details and items used including different sized balloons
I own my own flower business ,I love to decorate my home haven't really started to work with clients yet so what I would do is just make the decorations myself ,just charge for the event that's how I would make my money
I just came across your channel and was wondering, does the client keep the decorations such as props, signs and flowers after the event or do you provide these as part of your business?
I have a question, you mentioned you use silk florals but if a client insisted on real florals do you have a florist that you usually go to? And do you just get a quote for the estimated amount of florals needed first and inform the client?
That depends on your business model. If you offer full event styling or event coordination, then you can get a quote from florists and include that in your quote. Then you would be responsible for overseeing the florist to ensure everything is setup correctly. If you don’t offer those services, then you can refer the client to a florist in your area. Then the florist would be responsible for working directly with the client.
I thought after the event, all items used will go to your inventory except for the balloons. Is it common practice that you package the price with the hoops or whatever structure you used?
I know you weren't asking me, but I'll bite. You have to account for wear, tear, and storage on each piece of equipment. That costs. Each client should be charged for the use of one's inventory, whether individually or within a package. Sometimes inventory is rented, so the designer does not have that item go back to their inventory & has to allocate part of the budget to someone else.
That really depends on the event, the client, and your business. For me, most of my items are rented. If you have questions on pricing, feel free to take my online course. Here’s the link - yeseventdecorandmore.retrieve.com/store/#/.
But besides the balloons ,wouldnt you have the hardware already in your inventory? Give them a catalog ( of your own things) the clients can choose from, instead of letting them choose custom designs ( that would cost more)? Btw..l'm L💜Ving your channel.( New subbie).
