Any chance you would post a front and side view of the finished product. It is rather difficult to follow how the mouth is achieved. I've tried to duplicate the process on a couple of pieces of sycamore tree limbs - mouth just doesn't come out right.🗿

So, my kutzall burrs leave the surface rough. What attachment are you using to smooth the surface out? BTW, those Easter island carvings look nice.
I use a split mandrel and glue a sand paper around it. Takes care of the marks
