      If I had a particular book in mind, my number one would be a book that teaches skepticism and rationalism. Too many people get caught up in bullshido or vice versa what's popular atm and dismissive of all else.

    Books to read: the classical man by Richard Kim; classical bujutsu by donn draeger; moving zen by wc nicol; and last but not least: meditations on violence by Rory Miller. Enjoy.

    good books i have read only the musashi five rings i would like to read art of war for now i am reading:
    Samurai Swordsmanship: The Batto, Kenjutsu, and Tameshigiri of Eishin-Ryu
    Cutting with the Medieval Sword: Theory and Application
    Tai Chi Sword Classical Yang Style: The Complete Form, Qigong, and Applications

    one of my favorites you may already have Sensi Norcross is "the Zen way to the Martial Arts" by Taisen Deshimaru I first read it in the early 1990's and I often re-read it as always thanks for sharing

    There’s something about “the Art of War “ that needs to be addressed : there’s many translations. In English I find the commentary most valuable. Last year I reread the translation by Samuel B Griffith.
    Originally done in 1964,
    It’s been peer reviewed.

    Hi Sensei, thank you for this. Have you read "Secrets of the Samurai"? Highly recommend if you have not, it's comprehensive and has great illustrations
