Loved this solo the very first time I heard it! It immediately was put on my mental list of best sounding (tone wise) and tastiest styles of guitar solos I've ever heard. To this today, it remains on that list. Thank you for showing us how to play it!

The thing I love about your channel is the focus on not the most famous stuff. Jen Turner ia not famous enough imo! She was super on that album. Would you consider doing an episode on Wonder? That’s even better I think. The groove is just so good. I’ve tried to figure it out, but can’t quite get bits of it.

This is freakin awesome! I have a similar soft spot for Natalie. (Actually believe she is an angel!) Great musician and she has always surrounded herself with other top notch players. Tigerlily and this song in particular featured some outstanding playing by Jennifer. Thanks for doing this one!

Great song. Great solo! My little band project (female singer) had been playing this for a year now. I've been playing it a little differently (mostly moving down the B string in the key of F#m to the higher register), and few other missed notes I knew were not quite right... and not as well. At least I was in the neighborhood ;-) . Will be adding KDA's version into mine. Sorry I missed this a month ago.

This is the best note-for-note and tone-correct recreation of Jen Turner's legendary "Carnival" solo that I have ever heard. That this is also a tutorial on how to actually play it is outstanding!
To my knowledge, no one has ever covered and recorded "Carnival" as it was originally played by Jen Turner on "Tigerlily". Even Natalie Merchant's post-Turner touring bands never managed to play this classic song and it's iconic solo the same way that Jen Turner did. You really nailed this one!
Just out of curiosity, are you playing your PRS through the Blackstar modeling amp in the background and are you using any pedals? Your tone here is just so spot-on I have to ask.

The performance at the beginning is with software. Bias FX2. The tutorial part, I used my Traynor tube amp. I usually use the blackstar for tutorials, but not on this one.

What gauge strings and brand are you using? I have an SE 245 with standard gauge PRS strings and am looking for something different. Btw, beautiful finish on that SE, I was torn between that finish and the charcoal and went with charcoal.
I always use Ernie Ball regular slinky 10s.
