What i love about this game is that the bgm is dynamic. When you die, the music gradually missing its instrument one by one from the melody to bass. This blows my mind everytime.
hahahah how gratifying it is to read people who appreciate those little details. A masterpiece that has it all
Yeah! i remember as a kid was stunning for mme hear that, was so cool. I still remember the feels when i beat the game.
Why is the fucking select sound better than half of all games ever created
same
This game is like the holy grail for me, amazing nostalgia, this music, sounds, effects, helpers, bosses, difficulty in passing the stages. In gray post-communist Poland, a family of typical factory owners, it was so futuristic, unique. I remember how carefully I reached for the cartridge and did not even rush the intro with buttons, because it was like a ritual ... I often come back to this world as an adult, I turn on the Super FC Games emulator from the Google store and it is! My Favorite Game! It's a pity that I don't have these legendary pads ... ahhhh! :)
I still remember how I found this game out. I went to rent adventure island from a local video store and they accidentally gave me this instead. I remember being pissed initially and then I tried it out only to find this masterpiece. What a happy accident. Crazy how you found gems in pre internet days.
The creative use of faux reverb in this soundtrack...there is just something about it
07:30 Area 3 ❤🎹🎶🎵🎵
The burning city in the background just added another layer of feelings.
This theme is the shit
My clock alarm for a long time
Good thing in Russia we had Japanese version
kinda sounds like megalovania in the first few seconds
I never even heard of this game, but I'm cruising for chiptune music tonight and this blew my fucking mind.
Same naming here in south Africa, got it on a 19-1 black cartridge compilation, along with one of the other games that was called super mario bros 6..which was actually tiny toons adventures
Here in Brazil too lol I belive that every country where piracy was the only way to play these games, rom hacks were huge.
There's another game from Natsume called Mitsume ga Tooru which also have a killer soundtrack just like this one and I got to knew that game thanks to a rom hack called Pokémon Red in one of those yellow cartridges. Good times
10 years after the upload, the music still sounds amazing!
00:34 This is the most intense stage select theme ever.
I've been using the looped version of it as my ringtone for the last 8 years. Never get tired of this fantastic tune.
@@kosmosyche ooo i wanna do this now!
Have you listened to Tim Follin's work? Pretty sure he has the most intense stage select themes from, I don't know, pick any one of the games he worked on.
@@kosmosyche So the other person calling you has to wait at least 20 seconds before you answer due to the epicness of the ringtone? 😀
every time anyone calls me they heard that melody.
There's something truly beautiful about a final boss that has the exact same power as you.
This OST is pure adrenaline rush!! I can still hear the hits and explosions in my head. Great memories from back then!!
I love how many different people from all across the world have good memories of this game.
Cause it's such a fantastic game. I have some huge nostalgia since I used to play this all the time when I was a kid.
@@blyjd91 Same
@@blyjd91 same as me
Greetings and much love from ROMANIA
Yeah just for some reason the game was called RoboCop 3 on my black 19-1 cart for some reason, spent so much time finding the 2 real thing title names
0:35 I want to go out even in quarantine 0:24 I'm getting ready to go outside 1:14 I'm out, I walk the empty streets trying to break the police
10:27 til 10:55 - one of the most climactic sections in all of the NES library! Turn that sucker up and soak in the epicness.
Agree
Best area song for me.

This game holds so much nostalgia for me. A big part of that is the music.
It's almost 2017, and a 26 year-old, 300 kilobyte game blows all modern 40 gigabyte game soundtracks out of the water. Let that sink in.
Area 1 is best
I never played this game, but someone recommended I listen to the soundtrack. And holy shit, you're right.
I also like Bucky O'Hare for this exact reason.
hi
Rightly said!!!
time and technology has nothing to do with a composers talent, just because you have better hardware and more money, you don't suddenly become able to produce music that's somehow catchier.
Remember old good days. i played that game 25 years ago. and that music is the best.
There are 2 composers for this album. Iku Mizutani (水谷郁), Hiroyuki Iwatsuki (岩月博之)
japan style like many games now but those days and melodies brings the total difference of soul&brain
If you like this, try listening to the Power Rangers Time Force GBC OST. Same composer, basically an unofficial sequel album
One of the best soundtracks in videogames.
Area C (JP) is my favorite.
Me siento re vieja jaja
Yo lo jugue ena Funny station XD. Juegazo!!!
. . Asi como tantos otros. . .pero bueno quedan los buenos recuerdos ❤
03:46 area 2
07:30 area 3 (jp)
12:06 area 5 & 6
Best areas songs
Area 4 is ahead for me than area JP and Area 5&6 specially when crescendo in the music. Area 2 is no doubt one of the best.
Amazingness of this ost destroys the limits.
Area 3....Anyone remember how creepy the atmosphere was? Those pods you break and then those creepy aliens coming out...Man it was creepy for my child-self. The boss wasn't that creepy but the monsters in the level were.
As I know, that amazing composer wrote the soundtrack for "Choujin Sentai Jetman" nes game too. Who is he, and where I can find his other music themes? Is his name Iku Mizutani?
17:43 I almost expected it to cut to Ducktales' Amazon stage music here.
One of the best soundtracks of the NES and of the game history
I welcome you and these amazing uploads back. This game really had some bitchin' tunes
this piece of music make me cry 19:42-19:49 and emotional i dont know why..
@Hermano Antonio no u
UR REMINDER TO LISTEN TO IT AGAIN
Stage one soundtracks is the best game soundtrack ever to me...
I knew I could hear the Iku Mizutani in it, very KAGE / Blue Shadow / Shadow of the Ninja.
hi
And Mighty Power Rangers
@@whitedragon3560 lmao I remember that too
All the wonderful things Japanese can do with 8 bit.
This soundfont sounds very similar to "Keitai Denju Telefang!" I love it!
It is very similar indeed. Other 8 bit Natsume games have a similar sound
One of my favourite games and soundtracks - even today in 2020. Happy memories!
Same here
Same. Played this in 1995
Best game! Best music! Great! MMC3 is SUPER!
Mee to 😍
00:34 - best alarm clock ever
Stage select, area 1, area 4 and Ending are me favorites!!
Bingo, same for me!
My childhood couldn't have been better than this ! Thank you Japan for bringing one of the best games for the NES and also the NES itself which made our childhood better than anything !
The Japanese composers are the Gods of gaming soundtrack
I finished this when I was a kid, but when I tried to play it again in 2020 I failed! But listening to this now, I've decided I will not give up. I will try again and again until I finish it and show it who's boss! Amazing music.
area 3 jp version is my favorite. love from China
Area 3 JP LEGIT!!!!
@@Pentatonic_Hardcore да там много чего было :)
I can't believe this sound, music, and effect from 1991, Still legend after 33 years, thank you for the good memories of this game.
Always liked the game : Great music, great settings, great gameplay!
Thanks for the upload ! Brings me way back !
Area 3 JP i love it
So ahead of its time that it still sounds like it's from the future.
The first time I ever played this game was in late 1999. I still enjoy it!
One of my favorite soundtracks on NES. Welcome back!
Natsume guys were just incredible with music on their games. Shatterhand along with Shadow of the Ninja are among the best NES soundtracks ever. Check out Famicombit for the metal cover of Area 1 & 2
The composer's name is Iku Mizutani if you want to check out more of his work
MEMORABLE NATSUME BGM > SHATTERHAND > FINAL MISSION/SCATTERS 🥰 KONAMI > CONTRA > JACKAL
Tokkyuu Shirei Solbrain's OST is truly the best :D
In my childhood, i have played a bootleg Japanese version of this game, on a bootleg Taiwanese console. On one level it was cycled, after killing a boss you will start a fight with him again and again. But the soundtrack is a masterpiece!
I ONLY HAVE SOLBRAIN VERSION BACK THEN , i thought its really solbrain... btw this music really sounds like jetman NES game, same vibe
This game is awesome.
Havent played this but my ears saying: epic music.
There's no rose filter of nostalgia, but good music just stays.
finally i found it,,
1:14 Area 1 is insane! Fast progressive metal 🤘
Bad ass soundtrack to remember. long live the nes system
This game is one of the best for NES, and the soundtrack is amazing. Why so few likes?
Kinda obscure, unfortunately. It's been getting attention in recent years, but such things are slow going.
This game: Shatter hand
What my NES called it: Robocop 3
Can't close it, I need to go sleep, but I just can't close the window and turn the computer off ^^ So good. Feels like a Japan inside the music ^^
one of my favorite nes games. soon as you boot it up you feel like kicking ass and taking names.
15:01 best :D
Liked 5:13 better than the JP version. A fan of darker songs like this, it's all.

hi
NO!
In my childhood I've discovered a cheat of this game accidently. Hold Press Up+Continuous Punch then press Pause button. Then YOU get a full life.
I forget which Area it was, but there are 3 vertical pillars before you get to the exit teleporter. If you to to the right of the teleporter and press down, you activate a secret power up (the red shirt for more power). I've never seen it documented before.
I get the same exact feeling when I hear the Area G/Final Area music as when I hear the Scrap Brain Zone theme from Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System/Game Gear.
This Game was made in 1991 the year I was born I use to play this game in 2000 for the first time and 29 years later of its release its still my favroute game of all time
Famicom /Nes love forever
El falso "robocop 3" que JUEGAZOOOOO
best action adventure nes and awesome ost
I agree with you 100%. After so many years I can't forget this game. It was exciting, great design!
bad ass game touching soundtracks ....
My favorites are area 2, area 5&6, and final area :)
***** The Ending song is pretty cool. This was one of my favorite games of NES
hi
I played this game for Nintendo console classic in 96/97..favorite game is great
Best games have best soundtracks. And best games are the NES GAMES!
epic sound
Amazing. Good soundtrack. Nes games have good soundtracks. This is one of my favorite.
the pure meaning of the word "EPIC".......super classic...... music is inch perfect....
Solbrain in JP. I liked the shatterhand sprite better since it also has the Solbrain sprite when you equip your suit.
Here's a thought folks, how many legendary pieces of music have gone virtually unheard and waaaay underapreciated due to in game discovery preventing their discovery! I'll bet there's gems that almost nobody apart from programmers/dev teams and cheaters have discovered... who knows, maybe the best tracks have been buried under code and are awaiting their discovery.
Final Area - the best music ever I heard.
Final Area still the best.
01:14 and 07:30 too
17:11 ENDING
Area 3 (JP) look like a sad music to me
