I think him and Celebrini are pretty close talent wise. Yes Demidov was a steal at 5th overall. If Demidov played in the CHL or NCAA to compare, i think his stats would have been similar to Celebrini
I don't think so, Ce will be Like J, Toews. A more overall good player from defense to offence. Demidov will be a more skilled player stat wise l feel, but, who knows.
To make that jump MSL should first build his confidence by putting him on the powerplay as the floater since he can stick handle so well and help control the zone. Shades back to Alexi Kovalev who used to be able to bring in the puck at will and have the players on his team take their positions on the power play. As you may recall Montreal led the league in PP goals when they had Alexi and Sheldon Souray at the point. Hudson or Mathewson can control their zone while the forwards run and gun. Over time Demidov should gain the confidence he needs.

Okay, my opinion only. I think Demidov is better than Conner Bedard , he is bigger, stronger, a better skater and his shot is right there with Bedard. So why is everyone saying leave him in Russia. Look if he turns into the 18 year old superstar in Russia , will Montreal get him out. What will Hughes do, hire lawyers in Russia to get him out lol. Time to strike is right now, give the 3 mil and buy him out ASAP. Worst case he can play in the AHL, but I doubt that will ever happen. Put him on the wing with Dach, and Laine. Wow can you not see the damage this line can cause. Id Bedard can play in the NHL. so can Demidov. I am afraid we will lose this kid. Come Kent and Gord bring him over now.
He’s not close to bedard the only thing he does better is pass lol and your not gonna lose him dw the khl will be good for him and he will be very good in 2025-2026

I'm not scared we'll lose him to be honest, Demidov wants to play for Montreal, so he'll play for Montreal whether it's now or next year.
