  • Finally found the pair of gloves for me. A short comparison of the Knox Oulton MK2 gloves with some more premium options (Dainese 4 Stroke, and Knox Handroid Pod).
    Anyone looking for a good balance of protection and comfort, I definitely recommend the Knox Oulton. Ample hard slide protection coupled with comfort make this, in my opinion, the best value in the $150 price category.

    You are excellent at these reviews, man! I ride a HD Dyna Wide Glide, and I'm getting the Oulton, because it is so protective. I think these gloves will look ok with my leather jacket, or my gray Klim Induction jacket.

    From a self-professed Glove-o-holic, outstanding video! I feel your pain on excess flappage with straps, so here's my pro tip: on all my gloves, I take them to my local leather goods/repair shop. It's a family run business that focuses mostly on luggage/handbags/shoe repair. I pay $30 per pair of gloves, and they stitch extra Velcro into the glove (the sticky, not "furry" part of the Velcro). They do it so that it appears seamless, and although your tight for space between where your Velcro ends and the ginormous ulna protector begins, it looks as though there's some surface area where it could be done. Call around and see if you can find someone because it's worth it. The best, most protective gloves on the market can't do their job if they come off in a crash. Thanks again for the video. Mad respect for your safety consciousness!

    Was going for the Knox Orsa Leather but after watching your excellent review I'm going for the Oulton - thanks.

    Based on your excellent review I bought a pair. I thought I needed a large but wound up with a Medium. Pinky finger has a less than 1/2 inch of excess at tip but other fingers are fine. Snug fit overall and needs a bit of effort to get your hand in initially but that could be because my hands are still a bit swollen from my last crash. : )

    Great review. Based on your usage, do you think the Oulten will be good for all day road trips in 70-85f temperature range ? I want the protection and comfort, but not sure how good the ventilation is.
    BTW, your reviews are very thorough . Looking forward to your future gear reviews.
    Thanks

      Thanks! I would say if you’re maintaining significant speed then the gloves won’t be too hot in those conditions. If you’re in stop and go traffic at 85 degrees it will definitely get warm. They aren’t the most ventilated gloves around for sure. If possible I’d recommend a dedicated summer pair, I have a pair of REVIT Dirt 3s that I’d use in the hottest months just to keep the Oultons from getting too sweaty. Good luck with your choice!

    Thanks for the review. May I ask what are the measurement of your hand? Some say the size chart on Nox website is not correct. I think medium should be just what I'm looking for so would really appreciate if you can let me know the size of your hand. ;)

      My hand circumference measures between 8.75-9 inches. Hope that helps!

    Just a quick question: is the stitching on the inside or outside? I bought Rev'it gloves without realising they were on the outside and they came apart unbelievably quickly so I'm looking for something far more durable.

    • @AgentCodyBikes
      @AgentCodyBikes  Місяць тому

      Majority of the stitching is interior, which for some is a pro and others is a con. Some claim interior stitching/seams cause discomfort on the fingers but I have not had an issue with these personally. No glove should fall apart that quickly regardless so I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the Rev’it.

    how is the breathability? not to sweaty?

      Honestly not as bad as you might think. I would say high summer heat you’re definitely feeling it, I have another set of textile gloves that I use in those situations which are more easily washed. But If these were my only set I could still make it work. They do lack ventilation though, so if that’s a big deal to you I can confirm I’m not feeling any wind through them.

      @@AgentCodyBikes but when riding at 68F or 20C and you take them off after a hour of riding its not that your hands are wet?
      I think im going to buy these btw. What gloves would breathe more that has similar levels of protetion? did you have other gloves on your short list? Thanks for the reply my guy! you are the only one out there reviewing these.
