  • In "Stop Giving Them Access and Protect Your Peace," we go on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, focusing on the crucial task of setting boundaries and safeguarding our emotional well-being. This video serves as a guiding light for individuals who find themselves entangled in toxic relationships or environments, offering practical strategies to reclaim their autonomy and protect their peace of mind.
    We begin by exploring the concept of boundaries and their fundamental importance in maintaining healthy relationships and personal integrity. Boundaries act as protective barriers, delineating what is acceptable and unacceptable in our interactions with others. By establishing clear boundaries, we create a framework that safeguards our emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
    Next, we look at the harmful consequences of allowing toxic individuals or influences to have access to our lives. Whether it's a draining friendship, a toxic workplace, or negative family dynamics, giving others unrestricted access to our energy can lead to stress, anxiety, and diminished self-worth. Recognising the detrimental effects of these relationships is the first step toward reclaiming our power and restoring balance to our lives.
    The video then offers practical strategies for setting and enforcing boundaries effectively. From assertive communication techniques to learning to say no without guilt, viewers are equipped with the tools they need to establish healthy boundaries and protect their peace of mind. We also discuss the importance of self-care practices and cultivating a supportive network of individuals who respect and honour our boundaries.
    Throughout the video, real-life examples and anecdotes illustrate the transformative power of boundary-setting and the profound impact it can have on one's quality of life. By reclaiming control over who has access to our lives and prioritizing our own well-being, we can create a sense of empowerment and freedom that allows us to thrive.
    In conclusion, "Stop Giving Them Access and Protect Your Peace" serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for anyone who finds themselves trapped in toxic relationships or environments. By honouring our boundaries and valuing our own worth, we can reclaim our power, cultivate inner peace, and build a life filled with positivity, fulfillment, and authenticity.

    It's a wake up call when people do not treat you the way you deserve to be treated . . . with just common courtesy. Stop making excuses for them, especially if the behavior is repeated. Back away and RUN!

    People monitor your every move this day in time. If you are private person they will watch you closely. Some people will become close to your family members just to gather info about you so they can use it against you later. So it's best to move alone keep quiet about your personal life just because private people tell you something doesn't mean they are telling you the truth some people who are private will tell you a lie just to see if you are going to run and tell.😅

    • @SheilaFoi
      @SheilaFoi  3 місяці тому +8

      Yes, this can definitely be the case and I think as with the case of "monitoring spirits" just leave them guessing and live your life. We can't control peoples actions but we can control our interactions with them and maintain peace! But thank you for adding this message 😊

    “We are not here to play free therapist (…) There’s no medal in participating in free therapy!” 😂 I laughed out loud because I felt so called out! I’m strong in my boundaries and giving access to myself but it’s that one area (giving free listening and advice giving session) where I need more growth. It’s definitely not an ego boost for me but being an active listener people feel like they can share with me, emotionally dump on me, and go on with word diarrhea but I’m realizing that I feed into it by wanting to give them advice. That part in your video was a beautiful confirmation for me, thank you Sheila 🙏🏾

    • @SheilaFoi
      @SheilaFoi  3 місяці тому +4

      So pleased that this resonated with you and that it was a confirmation for what you are going through! I will say that once we notice the problem we have as individuals the only way out is through finding a solution. I suppose in your case you noticed "enabling" the unnecessary chatter was an issue on your end and you took accountability and changed your ways. That is admirable and worth celebration as you are actively taking part in changing your narrative and not pointing fingers. Wishing you even more breakthroughs in your self-discovery journey! ❤️

Keep it up 😊

      People need to learn we’re all made differently and one persons normal might be too much for the other. No one has the right to tell you what ‘exhausting work’ looks like!
      You know your body, you know your capacity for entertaining other peoples energies too before you need to recharge. Don’t let anyone belittle your experience and keep fighting for yourself to get the rest you need to show up in life the way you feel comfortable. Thanks again for sharing your experiences and I hope this get better with your place of work 🤗

    I’m struggling with this so hard at the moment but only with my step daughters. They’re 17 and 18. I love them a lot but they come with a lot of baggage and negative energy and one is depressed. My house and personal space is just so dark and “slimed” with their negative energy. I’m trying to find a way to protect my peace and space. I also have trouble with over sharing with them which I don’t know why I do since they’re teenagers 😩. Need to set my personal and house boundaries for sure!!!

    • @SheilaFoi
      @SheilaFoi  3 місяці тому

      Firstly the most important thing is that you have noticed the issue and now you can make a plan to make things better for all involved. I think dealing with teenagers is not always easy but also we have to acknowledge if we're also part of the problem. I think listening to them and seeing what you can do to make life more manageable could be a start, maybe they feel you tell them too much and they do not have the capacity to process all the issue you offload to them plus their own issues. So maybe that could be where you draw the line (create boundaries) speak to a friend or a therapist to balance out your personal matters, then leave room for them to lean on you as a co-parent and they might eventually warm to you and open up. Which might clear the negative energy they harbour against you. If they like doing things like activities outside the house encourage that so they do not feel stuck, movement is good for creating dopamine and lift mood. Thank you for sharing your experience and I hope that things get better soon 😊

    I am so intentional this year. I can’t believe I wasted my time with wrong ppl. I think twice before I say yes to someone to hang out with. I don’t go everywhere anymore. I used to think is good to just be out and about, meet new ppl, however, I am tired dealing with fake ppl. I am evaluating my friendship and when I see I am valued then I continue my relationship with them. It has to be a give and take relationship. Also, I learn to shut my mouth about my personal life. It’s so hard but protections my peace is more important. Thanks gurl for this info.

      This sounds like a very awkward situation to be in. But frankly speaking this is where you’re within your rights to apply your boundaries.
      Think of it this way, this is your special day and you want to have only people that love, care and support you at your wedding.
      So I would confidently speaking to her and say to her that you appreciate her wanting to come but this day is for you and your loved ones and you’ve had to reduce your numbers for this intimate occasion.
      If she pushes back simply say since your relationship with her is work only it doesn’t feel natural for her to be there. Tell her you there’s no hard feelings!
      But if she does act crazy, that’s enough to let you know that her intentions weren’t pure.
      In which case she’ll be annoyed but won’t turn up to your special day.
      Don’t be afraid of confrontation when it’s necessary. Good luck 😊
