The thing I LOVE about spiderman, is not the fact he's powerful, or strong, or cool. It's the fact that he doesn't do the job because he wants fame, or glory, but because he wants to HELP. That is, without a doubt, a true hero.
The reason Miles works is because he's not just another gender/race swap. He's not trying to be Peter, he doesn't even want to be Spider-man when he sees all of the extra trauma and suffering it comes with. He just doesn't want to see anyone get hurt, and he understands he can control a certain portion of that outcome. He understands responsibility.
I love miles morales as Spiderman and it's crazy people want to call him race swap he's his own Spiderman not Peters Spiderman there's some of race swap I don't like instance Velma show style swap but miles is one of my favourites in marvel and media they got miles right making him the way he is He is Spiderman and deserves the respect that comes with it
@@taylenbynum1668 Ok, soapbox moment so please forgive the length of my response. There are so many special interest groups that meaningful messaging in the media (like the convictions around Miles as a new Spider-man and the real-world cultural argument that erupted over it) is often lost on deaf ears these days. I feel like everyone's in such a mad dash to simply feel important, we're missing the _best stories_ in the process, just rushing past everything that isn't attached to attention farming. Any meaningful artistic conviction is lost, then it just becomes about how "othered" a particular character is portrayed and how that captures the angst of misunderstood people in the world. And that's fine as a premise but back it up with something, don't just ask me for pity and then expect me to relate to that. I may suffer as a black male in America in unique ways, but my life is so much more than that small unpleasant part of it lol. Miles was one of the rare instances where there was actual substance to back up the messaging, unfortunately it opened the door for a whole lot of other characters and series that almost entirely lack anything substantive beyond the gender/sexual orientation/ethnicity of the mc. Miles was ahead of the new-age curve in terms of character design, problem is that all of the other "progressive" character writers tried to take that curve going 190+mph. I'm just glad Mile's Spider-man has been distanced enough from the "progressively zealous" crowd (and their content) to keep his value as a character from being diminished by cheap politics. Thankfully he's not just "the black Spider-man", and thankfully the writing for his character actually makes him earn that. It's not a freebie, it's not patronizing. He is as valid a Spider-man as all of the others.
@@fireredninja9320 He's earned that respect, that's part of why his character works so well. He's an underdog, but he actually fought tooth and nail to get to where he is now. He's a true hero.

Most people don't realizewhen the character was made, but today's world view is ruining things

Does anyone know this song
Nice but I think the M83 song choice was made by Slyfer “originally” 4 years ago. No way you picked the song by coincidence
Song is a banger. Nothing wrong with using the same music in my own tribute
@@gray-cray yes 🔥 song. Apologies, my son uses my UA-cam account. Good vid
