looking at the ditch light bracket, if you mounted the bracket and light above the hinge pin the lights might fold down with the windshield. Just a thought. This is an amazing build.
Looks amazing. Good call on changing the mirrors. You are going to have one of the nicest FJ's.
Thanks!!
Dang Austin, I love how you did those tail lights! They are awesome!!
👍
Tail lights look awesome. Definitely a super nice detail. Mirrors are 100% better that those chrome ones.
Thank you!!!
You can put the bracket light on upper hinge, so that wen u bring down the wind shield. You dont have to removed the fog light.
This☝🏻👍🏻
12:33 if you put the braket in the top hinge the lights might not touch the body since they will tilt fown with the window frame.
I like that idea
I might try this and see if it clears
I am not entirely sure Austin would approve of the aesthetics, but the mount could be like wingnut brackets extending past the body line for the light placement. This would allow the window frame lever point to continue to work as standard.
Big fan of your work Austin, loving the build and how you tackle problems that would stump most folk!
Came here to say the same thing. It just might clear. Personally I don't like lights above the hood. Don't like the glare off the hood.
why not go directly under the light through the hinge with the wiring. would be a little cleaner looking.
Як завжди, супер!!! Україна на зв'язку.
Build rear bumper/air tank for onboard air
There is no and I mean no reason you shouldn’t have way more subs.
Thank you!! We’ll get there someday!
Everything is turning out so clean... your Fab work is inspirational
Yaaa.. I'm not like the mirror the FJ but after change.. Look sexy broo.. 👍👍👍👍👍
Can't you flip the brackets for the front lights around and mount them on the window instead. It looks like there should be room for them to fold down with the window.
Was going to comment the same 👍
If your windshield light mounts moved the lights outboard a bit you could still fold the windshield down without having to remove the lights.
Nice work. Are you building a rear mounted spare tire carrier?
Can you put the ox beam lights, on the top hinge of the windshield frame,
Incase you ever want to tilt your windshield down,
You won’t have to remove the lights,
It looks like you had enough clearance to flip those brackets upside down and put them on the top side of the hinge. That way you could open the windshield without taking the lights off. They look like they would clear the fenders.
You should do a tire carrier on the back out of like DOM!!!
@Taylordrifts needs to pick up some of the Cerakote for his table!
The taillights turned out awesome! Rear bumper wit ha swing away tire carrier would be dope!!!
Such a unique channel!!
Loving those light pods!!!
Austin, did you buy spare pods? Might be difficult to find exact matches in the future.
Lookin sweet Austin! Thanks for the amazing content!
No offense but a non conductive welding table isn't worth it. I would hit it with a flap disk any day instead of losing it for a week and spending a few hours prepping and painting. Your blending of the spot welds is awesome! I really like the looks of the rear light. This build is getting more killer awesome every video and it started as an awesome build!
There will never be another FJ like this one but , there will be dozens with at least some of the innovations and you have pioneered. I'm in no hurry to see this project finished... very informative.
Looks great. Looks like it could climb a tree. Like how u modify and take ur time. 👍✌️
Mirrors look great, but sometimes single arm mounts vibrate a lot. You might want to clamp it to one of your vehicles and drive it down the road to see if it vibrates before you finalize everything.
OCD can be a good thing. Those grinds on the tail lights are pretty sweet and definitely took more than two minutes.
Can’t you put the light brackets on the upper hinge and it will fold with the windscreen
Those plugs have numbers on each side to keep everything straight
Can I get the plans for the taillights
Why not kick the lights of to the left and right?
No compromise to the windshield, and if you stay tight to the body the might blend right in with the mirrors if you color match them.
That FJ is really nice looking without the paint job really hope you choose a great color
Should have done a bulkhead connector on those lights . You made it annoying to remove 2 bolts to super hard to remove them
This man gets better by the upload 🔥 never disappoints!
It's looking great so far! Any idea what color you want to paint it? I can see this thing sitting hard in all black!
Looks real nice, i hope you get black harware for the tail lights though.
what about making the pod mounts use the whole lower half of the stock hinge mounts but build the flat plate for the light to mount on the side bolts area closer to the mirror? would allow for the windshield to still then fold down
i love the tail lights 10 out of 10
Maybe bolt new mounts for the little lights on the bolt holes on the sides of the window hinge next to the mirror 🦍
Блин, чувак, круто ты делаешь 💪💪💪
always excited. wait for the next videos
drill out one of the bolts that holds the mounting plate for the lights.
How conductive is that Cerakote Micro Slick if you're attaching your ground directly to the table?
you should have sand blast it first before you did all that
Are you putting any type of rubber isolator on your mirror mounts?
You keep going like this your gonna have a sick jeep
That FJ is really nice looking without the paint job really hope you choose a great “color 616E7E”
J'aime beaucoup. Bravo.
mirrors are perfect and way cleaner using hinge mounting point .
Could the ditch light bracket not be designed to mount the light on top fixings of screen hinge so lights can stay in situ if screen folded down and lights got clearance in the wing edge radius space ?
fab work is quite simply fabulous, rear lights top job .
Another satisfying video
This is one of the channels where I do not wait till the end of the video to give a thumbs up. The tail lights look sweet. Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed that there are no rear overfenders. By the way, I thing creating a combine brackets for rear mirrors and fog liths it's a cool ideas. If you create a kit it will be a huge hit.
Always creative, man
So what about rear turn signals?
The attention to detail... top notch bro
Amazing WORK ❤️ 👍🏼
Things are looking good!
Just bought the hood struts and lights for highly custom 94 4Runner 👍
Awesome!! I’ll have them shipped out tomorrow!! Thank you so much!!!
Nice job looking good
Where is the samurai
Nice job!!
Maybe do the top hinge for the pod lights, then you can potentially fold down the windshield with the lights?
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽
Very nice job
Looks badass
Ceracoat
Nice job!
😎👍🏻🔥💯🤘🏼🍺
👍 as usual 😊
Great content, please keep us updated!
Going to order a set of brackets this week i was just looking at mine thinking i need to make something
Awesome thank you! You will love them!!
Очень круто но так долго
I’m a firm believer in Caracas products. They perform better than anything out there.
Love the direction you’re going with the lights.
Keep up the awesome videos. Wish I had a shop like that. You truly are blessed.
Thank you!
Awesome job on the taillights!
Agreed on chrome
Looks great 👍 it not there yet, but its getting there. These final stages are the best but slowest. Because its all about the details now. Hard part is to not rush it just to get it done. Rear bumper is good idea... put your fab skills to work. A row of flush mount lights or a slot with a light in it... step back and be creative. A well made spare tire rack ? Accessories attachments... ? Are you going to have any kind of rear fender / wheel opening extension to protect the paint ? Cerakote is a great product. I have used it in the firearms industry for years.
As always looking forward to seeing what's next. Don't rush it. It's looking great 👍
Thank you man! Yeah these final touches take time and it makes or breaks the build!!
Stay with it. It looks great. Don't rush it just to be done... keep stepping back and looking... your the artist. Plus the build is the most fun.
😎👍
"the devil is in the details"

Lights look killer 👍
Thanks man!
those tail lights are sweet!!!Excelent work Austin!
Looks awesome. King of The Hammers 2025!
It’s a dream for me to own one of these FJ’s! I’ve been watching the series from the beginning and the love just keeps growing! Can’t wait for the finish product. Thanks for all the videos!
Looks good I might have tried 3d printing a curved bezel to adapt to fender! Just another way to do the same type of fix.
Taillights look good but I think the ditch lights take away from the fj looks.
lights on the rear fenders are useless on the fj when you hang the spare tire or add a jerry can. why all 70 cruisers have bumper mounted brake lights.
Am loving this build series! Taking notes! 🤣
Loved watching your process on the tail lights man, looks awesome as always!
This is one of the rare UA-cam channels that I instantly watch when a video is posted! Keep up the amazing craftsmanship!
Love the mirrors and light bezels!
This FJ40 build is currently my favorite to watch. Your attention to detail is amazing. I went back and forth on mounting mirrors to the door or window frame and ended up going the windshield hinge route. I like to take the doors off and leave the hard top on. Can’t wait to see this FJ40 run.
Awesome work man! Can’t wait to see this one when it’s finished!
Those mirrors were such an upgrade!
Love this FJ build.
Love seeing the progress on the rig. Looking sweet
Anything you touch is gold Austin
I think you’ll regret putting that coating on your welding table.
All clean installs!😎
Simply the best!
Thank you!
Bel lavoro !!
👍🏻
You gotta put the lights in the bumper to stay true to the FJ. It’s a LandCruiser not a Jeep.
Is it your FJ?
I agree. The rear now looks jeep
Who cares? Both cars look iconic, and he's making a custom rig not copying the factory look
