A match between the 2 clubs on May 9, 2001, saw 126 football fans dying out of a riot that broke out.
Hearts of Oak won that match. Of the 2, Kotoko is the most successful, and Hearts is the Oldest club.
In 2022, Arema vs Persebaya ended in 130 football fans being killed, the second worst football tragedy ever.
Persebaya won that match and was considered the most successful along with Persija.

@@augustinekwadwoanokye-wusu5814 Well, I can't believe Indonesian football supporters look like this. They are known for unleashing high violences that caused much fatalities.
However, I would also mention that the events in Kanjuruhan had a similar way to the 2001 Ghana disaster and the much deadlier one in Peru that killed 328 in 1964.
Although the disasters in Peru and Ghana happened because of the referee decisions, the Kanjuruhan one ignited because the host (Arema) didn't accept such a defeat against their big rivals (Persebaya). The football fans invaded a pitch, accompanied by the throwing of missiles from the stands. As a result, police officers had to change their minds by firing a tear gas. Witnesses saw one of the Indonesian Army officer had performed a flying kungfu attack against one of the mobs. The tear gas eventually produced a mass panic, which at this point, brought the darkest history in our country. Many sources said it was around 200, but the Indonesian police said only 125 were killed (which was increased to 135, at that time I was writing here).
It's such a national tragedy that will never be forgotten. The last October was full of dark events, as the other countries have experienced the similar tragedy, most notably the one in Seoul that killed 155 peoples, albeit not related to the football events (the Halloween street parade).
Once again, Kanjuruhan must be the latest one in terms of sporting disaster. And, we might know, the UK government, notably police, had just apologized the Hillsborough miseries right now.

The Indonesian Classic: Persija vs Persib and Persebaya vs Arema.
Four clubs were the best one in our country, but also spawned the most brutal rivalries on and off the field, which led to numerous violences.
Those violences were culminated with a game on October 1 2022, when the game between Arema and Persebaya saw 130 football fans dying out after a ferocious battles that started when police fired deadly tear gas on the stands of Kanjuruhan Stadium.
It not only considered the worst football disasters in our country, but the second in terms of worldwide behind the 1964 Peru football riot with 328 deaths.

The Eternal Derby. The Bulgarian teams from the Bulgarian capital Sofia Levski and CSKA are the most famous Bulgarian teams in the world. The Levski Sofia's supporters will never forget how The Blues (Levski Sofia, not Chelsea) beat The Reds (not Liverpool) with 7:2 and the former Bulgarian president Todor Zhivkov was so furious that he immediately merged Levski and Spartak Sofia. CSKA Sofia's biggest win over Levski is 5:0 (Hristo Stoichkov scored 4 goals in that match) and the next time when CSKA and Levski played each other, the former Barcelona's striker provoked the Levski fans, because he played with number 4 on the shirt, because of the amount of the goals. Levski Sofia is established in 1914 and CSKA Sofia was founded 34 years later. Today the both teams are playing the Eternal Derby on the Vasil Levski National Stadium, but their home grounds are Georgi Asparuhov Stadium and Balgarska Armiya respectively. During the Todor Zhivkov's time half of the Levski Sofia's legends played for Botev Plovdiv, just because they REFUSED to wear the CSKA Sofia's shirt.

Gotta go with the Cascadia derby for mls, sounders vs timbers battle for pacific northwest dominance, their rivalry goes back to the old USL days pre MLS, the Cascadia cup is the cup both teams supporters sections place in their bar when their team wins it, they push each other beyond their limits dirty hits and tackles.
