My mum's dad was from the Netherlands. When the Nazis invaded the Netherlands he was taken as slave labor. Since he was a master builder by trade he was put on a special project and I am pretty sure that Germania was this special project.
Thank you for your comment and thank you for sharing such a personal and powerful story of your family. WWII affected many people and their families in ways that are hard for us to imagine.
Hard life your grandfather had. I'm sorry.

DUMB NAZI TRASH.
WORTHLESS RACIST GARBAGE.
@@sofedits2872 As far as I know of I have no Jewish heritage but if I did then why would it matter?
Honestly even if Germany won the Second World War, I really think that the development of this project will eventually be scaled down and look far different even if implemented.
Correct, the Nazis actually did build very heavy concrete structures to test the solidity and carrying capacity of the sandy Berlin ground. They found that neither the Arc nor the big Hall could be built because they were way too heavy and would sink.
I don’t think so, in fact I think Hitler would double down if he won against Britain and the USSR. His ego would’ve reached unthinkable levels as it was already immense after the defeat of France. He would not allow a downscaling of his and Speer's pet project, in fact I think it would be much more likely that he would scale it up instead. He wouldn’t care how many resources it would take
@@bbbbavkfof course they could be built, we’ve built much bigger and heavier buildings than that, it would’ve needed severe reinforcements but it would’ve been possible
@@Icetea-2000 That wasn't the plan. The future defeat of Russia was perceived as being connected to Britain making peace, peace not "winning" against them. The two fronts were deemed interconnected.
@@Icetea-2000 Honestly, it`s actually too bad he didn`t build this city center. It just looks cool.
If Germany was great
Exactly man look at Europe now
A real remnant of Germania - the Schwerbelastungskörper.
fascinating. where did you get the visualizations of the city in the final section? they are very well done especially the night time shot.
Bro Amazing job ,love the content
Thank you, I appreciate it.

This is like watching an episode of the Man in the High Castle.
Thank you for your comment! The comparison with "The Man in the High Castle" is very interesting, as both works deal with an alternate history where the Nazis took over the world. Our video tries to give a glimpse of what Germania might have been like if it had been completed. We hope it has given you a new perspective on this part of history.
@@ArchitectureArchivethis has got to be AI generated 💀
2:16 giant Hitler face staring back at you.
The sandy the boggy soil of Berlin wasn't suited to such megalomania
Itd be interesring to see the other projects of grandiose excess that didnt come to fruition
Thank you for your comment, we are planning another video on this topic in the future, definitely something to look forward to!
Oh my god is that the Big Building in Neu Berlin from TNO mod???
Yes
2:13 The what ?
Why did you repeated the same part 4 times xd
They didn't had to made it...
Kaiser moved to Kapitol Hill..
Most of the names and titles are mispronounced. Is this an AI generated video?
Thank you for your comment. Yes the voice you hear in this video is created by AI.
Too bad you mispronounced every German word.
To be fair German is a difficult language.
@@gp2779should have used better AI then
@@hanslanda336 Just don't fucking use AI in the first place.
Volkshalle should be pronounced "folks - HAH - ley", not "volk - shall". They spoke (and still speak) German in Germany.
"folks - HAH - le"*

Oh really? You will? Not with that computer aided voice.
Hitler's ideas of city design were straight out of "Metropolis". Giant monolithic buildings that just shrunk its human inhabitants down to the level of ants. Crushing concrete monstrosities that just pandered to his boundless megalomania.
No, you aren't getting it at all. These buildings were supposed to exist for thousands of years long after he was dead so it clearly wasn't just about his ego. The message was the identification of the masses with the power of the STATE and the public's feelings of being great themselves through their connection with something so spectacular.
No wonder Hitler was rejected from art school, his art was terrible. Germania was completely unoriginal, and just a scaled up immitation of Ancient Greece or Rome but without any soul. The fact that Germany had to import marble for Hitler's vanity project rather than do anything original is extra pathetic. I think of that Shrek quote on Lord Farquaad's castle "you think maybe he's compensating for something?"
So what about todays art ?😂😂😂
It wasn't meant to be original, he knew it was Greek and Roman. You obviously haven't studied the man, this is not a secret. Get educated. Read the Frederic Spotts book, "Hitler and the Power of Aesthetics".
We were on the wrong side in WW2, and nobody will ever change my mind on this, do i agree with the holocaust and the slave labour ? No of course not, but the fact remains that we sided with a country that did all of those things and on a grater scale, i think it was in Britains interests to have a non aggression pact with Germany, we didn't owe Poland a damn thing, and anyway the Soviet union was just as guilty as Germany for the invasion of poland..
Trump’s dream
Its way too big 😅 really ugly
You could say that it's a Big Building in Neu Berlin
Yeah like USA.
Looks nice wdym
@@eatinsomtin9984They'll always say it was ugly because "he was evil", we are dealing with brainwashed children.
As bad as Hitler and the Nazis were they knew how to dress and they knew how to design buildings. I believe Germania (More specifically the Volkshalle) looked pretty damn cool. Only in Hitler's dreams would this ever actually be built, way too big and way too expensive, even if they won WW2. Also, Berlin is built on a marsh, the Volkshalle would sink extremely heavily.
First, your German pronunciation is horrible!
Second, Berlin is built on a swamp so it could never have supported the weight of the Volkshalle or the triumphant arch.
