ok,ok.I believe everyone looks to see where they are on the strength standards. I sure do. Makes me hungry to keep training. At 58, I will eventually decline in strength but that won't keep me from training! Enjoy the JOURNEY
I’m a member of Barbell Logic coaching. I’m now a full blown diabetic with an A1C of 6.5 and fasting glucose of 133. When I train in my garage my glucose while saying starts at 125 it will spike to above 135 post workout and this being in a fasted state. I’ve never had issues energy wise training in a fasted state and eating right after. I’ve read about knocking off the glucose spikes by walking for 30 minutes post meal. What about eating just before a training session and then a big protein shake right after? Would that training help knock off the glucose spike of breakfast similar to walking or a completely different animal?
Great video! I don't stress too much about my lift numbers compared to others, I just concentrate on getting better each time and whatever that is it is. My wife and I also enjoyed your book!
Very good info on the DL eccentric phase, but how do you train to lower it fast? I feel like I will be out of control if I do that and that I will hurt my back. My body almost refuses to hang on for the ride, so to speak.
Sully, not sure if you know this but your microphone really has a lot of distortion whenever you look down. I do think there is some utility in knowing those age-based standards. They kind of give me a clue as to whether or not I need to be getting more 20kg plates for my home gym.
I brought the book. Great video or podcast. The Deadlift. Lol. I love the Deadlift. I do sumo vs conventional DL. I remember competing at the USA Powerlifting meet by Dennis Brady. Excellent man and wife too. Sandy she a Gem. This was 2004. X 3 meet at 181.1 to 198 class 501a half lbs DL. Love the strength. But now 59yr doing jiu-jitsu. But noticed Sarcopina a little bit. How should i start. I start at 4 set of 8 reps from my training partner. And grew from there. Just start there Reggie. This is nothing. Little did i know it was my base for everything else. Lol again Doc . I'm older what u suggest. Thanks Reggie.

Great info as usual. Rather than the much deserved floggings, maybe watch some training videos on setting up audio for vlogging. 🙂 It may be equally painful but more productive...
Is 130 kg squat already intermediate? According to this kilgore it is but aren’t those still very novice numbers for a 34 yo male weighing 180 pound? (Im underweight, I know…)
Interpreting the Kilgore tables needs a little guesswork in between bodyweight and age delineations but, if you've worked out that 130kg is lowest intermediate for your age and weight then 129kg would be highest novice. So yes, 130kg wouldn't necessarily be any big deal. The moral of the story is that if I made a category by one pound, it wouldn't give me any bragging rights (Not that it would stop me 🙂) - Wait until you're 68 years old like me and there're maybe even more Kilgore anomalies going on ;-) Can we trade ages, please?
These dont come often enough. I like these segments!

Sully, just watched your interview on Digital Barbell. You’re impressive in so many ways. I feel lucky to have found you. Thank you.
Pinched a nerve going down too slow and am stuck on machines until I can finally get it to calm down. Wish I had seen this before that happened.

Oh God, thank you. Saying that the eccentric lowering of a DL is basically 2x max RDL, and over a longer range of motion, is such clear way to put it!

We know. We had issues that day. Again, we apologize.
@@GreySteel No need to apologize. I just didn't see anything in the comments or the video description.

Thanks for the links on standards and your perspectives. What is the PBC designation?
That’s what I was wondering

Yeah, I know. We have a handle on content, and you may have noticed that we stay in our lane. But audio and video is an ongoing mystery.
I don't use arbitrary strength standards. I test myself against myself.
Ah just reached 6:50 in the video. Is the flogging going to be public? Can I bring a cane?
For an agreed-upon remuneration, you can purchase the privilege of performing the actual flogging yourself. On UA-cam. Our people should do lunch.
61. Should. I. Train. 2or. 3. Days

@@007graeham i think its better got the world that trading ages is not possible 😅
How tall are you? 130 3x5 (presumably) is a little low for NLP but not unheard of.
Props to the Salamanca twin look-a-like..lol
LOL. You should see his boots.
Many gyms are filled with Karens complaining about noise and dropped weights. 😞
Lowering the bar slowly under tension so that you can be competent at lowering it quickly makes no sense at all
I'm afraid we don't take your point. Perhaps you care to elaborate.
Wahwahwahwahwa…
You went all “Charlie Brown’s Teacher” there.
You never go all “Charlie Brown’s Teacher”…
We said we were sorry.
Too close to the mic Sully...lost your clarity
we know...see message at beginning of video...
